  • Come Together is a First Edition Arts initiative with the view to exposing a younger generation of music lovers to Indian Classical music. So rather than expect them to come to where this music normally lives, we decided to take the music to the places where this new audience typically hangs out. Café Zoe in Parel is one such place that suited our idea perfectly, the co-owners were enthusiastic and coupled with the fabulous F&B to be found there, we were sold. This would be an experience like no other this city has seen.
The second concert in this series features the talented flautist Ashwin Srinivasan accompanied by Swapnil Bhise on tabla. Without diluting or compromising the purity of the genre, we found the audience to be very receptive and responding very favourably to the music and the artistes. Here’s the second video from this concert.

by the way, u r phenomenal as usual.

    Pancham hole का बहुत सुन्दर उपयोग इस राग में दिखाई दिया, बांसुरी में इस राग को आप ने बजाकर चमत्कृत कर दिया.

Less Bansuri sound(Listen to Pandit Rajendra Prasannaji, you would understand what I mean) and more air(Hiss) sound is quite annoying.
But other than that the style and mastery is superb.

The Recording instruments play important role to what we listen, some mics are high to catch sound even when player is little far, here he is playing very close so you listen to sound and air both, and on second thought.. Irrespective of player, we are listening to their blow only.. So Air gives natural touch..

Ashwin ji once told in an interview, that he prefers some noise of air, as the instrument is played by air itself! Thats why he creates that hissing sound himself and it is his signature! Every great artist has his own style! Nothing to comment on this! 🙏

This raag is not performed enough in Hindustani... In my opinion it is better than raags like Hansadhwani and deserves much more credit... As a bansuri player myself, I will make it my duty to learn this raag inside and out :)

I believe the bottom note is B. Sa is E, and it is a normal 6 hole plus a seventh hole for the upper hand thumb. Beautifully tuned and nice tone. And beautifully played too.
