    One of the best officer figures made, all combat poses, and they're the right height so they mix well with other manufacturers. That's a great set. I really like it I've already bought 4 boxes and I plan on buying at least 6 more

      Way to go gary !! I really like the subtle pose changes in them, quite impressed!!!

      If you like your late war German infantry would recommend the Revell figures, battle of the bulge, Berlin era, stg 44 etc

    Italeri = generally the most detailed 1:72 figurines I’ve found, but at times let down by some odd uninteresting poses.
    Revell = Best all round. Nice variation of poses, good detail, but at times quality can vary across the different war catagories
    Airfix = generally the worst.

    • @TOYSOLDIERREVIEW
      @TOYSOLDIERREVIEW  6 років тому +2

      SPOT ON! If Airfix pulled the plug on the older bad sets it would be near the top!

    • @LaMOi1
      @LaMOi1 6 років тому

      Revell are my favourite overall, there usually pretty consistent in terms of quality.
      However, there are a few sets though that oddly see a spike in quality. If I remember the Rorkes Drift Zulu wars British weren’t great, neither some of the medieval sets like the Normans..
      But then more obscure sets like Russian Cossack Calvary had incredible detail...
      Bizarre.
      Also Airfix is most really poor quality cheap plastic.

    • @TOYSOLDIERREVIEW

      Was it the ESCI Zulu wars set?

      Esci’s German Paratroopers were a pretty rubbish set.

    I remember these models coming with ”Battle of the Bulge” set my oldman bought. I think it was somewhere around 2004-2008. Lately he has been pondering if there even is any tabletop wargame what the box’s cover had advertizing (”wargame seal of approval” or a like), what is why I have been thinking to introduce him for Bolt Action by Warlord Games except I’ll have to find fitting size spacers for the troopers to get glue onto first.

      Would recommend the latest Italeri sets. Cover virtually every major battle of WW2 plus Waterloo, Agincourt etc. I also owned the original Bulge set around 2005 and Italeri obviously realised how popular they were.

    Dear, thank-you for the great video. Very informative. If I may make a small correction, "Esci" in Italian is pronounced "Eshi", with the same E you said. Kind regards.

      Admit I always pronounce it by the individual letters to be on the safe side, since I bought my first set of their figures in the early '90's.

    Isnt the German machine gun an MG42? Great video, thank you, 👍. That said the assault rifle is a Sturmgaware 44, sorry for the spelling. All the very best.👍.

    • @topcat4759
      @topcat4759 22 дні тому

      No definitely MG34, should be MG42 as late war they had virtually replaced most of the earlier model. Figure incorrect altogether as there should be an ammunition loader and no way would it be stable on a wall like that.

    I am struggling to decide if im going to buy these first or the revell panzergrenadier .
    Currently i can buy a kit+Tiger I+ Panther D from Zvezda .(already built a Ju-87+King Tiger from Italeri)
    Plan is a European village with mountain/Bridge crossing and a small town with pavement.
    But cant choose as these would fit all terrain and Panzers infantry would be better for urban lol
    Thank you for the review :)!

    • @TOYSOLDIERREVIEW
      @TOYSOLDIERREVIEW  5 років тому

      Sounds like quite a project! The revell set mechanised infantry is the same set, however they do have an armoured infantry set which is different

      TOY SOLDIER REVIEW
      Love buying in bulk and this is delayed by few weeks in the store :/(its fun to pay like 2£ and get a 40x40cms box with three kitslol, will push my luck with 6-8 kits when im getting these, and few others lol)
      As for the diorama..
      Well generally we have toner paints which are extremely cheap, perfect for terrain,and ill mix PvA and Plaster for the soil.
      For Bridge and houses its quite simple:
      -design in Word via text shape editor
      -print
      -glue it on two layers of PvA cardboard and plexiglass mesh then PvA paints with glue ..And then corrigated xps for the bricks

      TOY SOLDIER REVIEW
      Im struggling to decide if i want to paint this in Elite Infantry as it is (but limit it to Late War or paint em in 1942 Infantry tone but forsake bit of accuracy :/, or paint em as Panzergrenadier and then will have 100 Panzer infantry :| )- i have paints for either options, but i want to use all my infantry in European terrain pre-1945
      As for the diorama, ill see if the wood pellets ash works for limestone imitation (its Gray+ White so PvA would be perfect.
      Darn it..choises lol
      Also i made dosen house templates in scale, cant find a bricks solution so im buying 4mm stones+said ash (but using white paint)

    Its a shame that somebody tries to give people a preview before they buy , to hypothetically save disappointment especially if money is an object and yet one person out there puts up a thumbs down. I have noticed on other reviews of yours it seems the same individual is the one who gives a thumbs down. Everyone is of course entitled to an opinion but in this case , a total waste of space .

      Thank-you Trevor, at first it bothered me, but like you i realised it's someone who just wants to thumbs down for the hell of it!

    • @timcolder2789

      Revell's set has some great Mg42 figures including loader figures on bases. In reality infantry would not be able to prop a heavy mg on a wall section and these weapons would need an ammunition loader no question. Think the recoil would be way to heavy to control in this position and fire accurately!

      Armour fast do a great set of MG42 figures along with a separate mortar one if you can find them. Bought both sets around 2009 and think they may still be available.

    From what I've seen of Italeri, they are quite decent. I'm impressed by some of the sets details. They tend to be very diverse with set themes too. I own a roman army, NVA/Vietcong and Napoleonic Wars British troops sets, which are more than enough to keep me intrested. Downside about them is that there are very few 1:32 scale sets around even on ebay.

    • @TOYSOLDIERREVIEW
      @TOYSOLDIERREVIEW  5 років тому

      I must admit its a downside on the 1\32 scale

    • @timcolder2789
      @timcolder2789 3 роки тому

      The only 1:32nd scale sets I have managed to purchase by Italeri were these Germans and Russian Winter Infantry and that was about 10 years ago. I have only bought 1/72nd scale figures since but not sure if Italeri still include in them in their current range or not.
