    Best bang for the buck right now is Penn Battle 6000 with some power pro 50lb on an Ugly stig tiger light jigging rod.. Thats what i use and gets the job done well. The rod has so much power. I cat break it. I tell all my friends to try breaking it and they cant. My favorite setup. And it also handle big tarpon as well.

    There are alot of spinning reels that can handle a tuna but it really depends on the size of the tuna you are chasing. If you live in san diego you could be going after 5 or 300 pounders. I have done fine catching tuna and yellowtail up to 15lbs on my Fin-nor 8500 reel which you can see in action in one of my vids. Also Penn, Shimano, etc. There are really alot of them just check out a saltwater shop and they'll help you out. For big guys youll want to get a braid capable reel.

    Hey Blair, the Dicks in my state (Utah) does not have any of your's or Mark Nichols products. And I know that alot of those products would work for all the fishing I do here in Utah. It's not Salt Water, but I catch Mogan Trout all the time. And I would love to have atleast one of your Flats Blues signiture series rods. Maybe you can do somthing about that. Because I am definitly a fish Addict!

      was goin to say the samething but i guess its just the scuba divers that know that.... good fish man but...(lol)..i do charters here in freeport and we tell all of our guest to not keep to much tension on the line because th line will snapn which is exactly what happend to the first 2 fish that broke off you dont need that much tension...i always tell my guess when the fish wanna run let them run when they get tired put the tension on them to turn there head and repeat that it works for us dont wanna tell anybody how to fish but thats how we save our fish... especially on light tackle

    This show is ok, but not really challenging for these guys. They have all the fancy gear that basically catches the fish for them. And they get to go to the best places with the most fish. They should try fishing the surf with mediocre gear and muscles for bait.

    • @DiabetoDan
      @DiabetoDan 9 років тому

      If it's so easy, go out and make a video of you doing it this easily.

    • @giannim3612
      @giannim3612 9 років тому

      Ok Daniel, ur just proving my point. They have all the equipment to do this show and other people don't. Yes it would be easy if I had 30k to spend on fishing gear. Also, I could probably out fish u any day of the week in any season. Just throwing that out there. Granted I live in Malibu where I can fish any day and u probably live in some shit town in unknown USA. Bring it spitfuck.

    • @DiabetoDan
      @DiabetoDan 9 років тому +6

      Gianni M actually, I live in Sarasota, Florida. And I fish from a 19' skiff that I saved up money for over 10 years. I've spent at the most $600 on fishing rods/gear. And I can run out and catch just as many (if not more) amberjack, snapper, and grouper (plus tons more species) as these guys do. It's not about the gear, it's about the know-how and putting the time in to finding good spots.
      Nothing's wrong with doing surf fishing or whatever you do over in Malibu. But don't act like all other fishing is brain-dead easy.
      And seriously man? Why do you have to be so hostile, it's just a fishing video. Not like I insulted your grandma.

    • @giannim3612
      @giannim3612 9 років тому +2

      Kk Daniel I was hostile and I'm sorry for that, but I still defend my point, as u defend yours. Oh, and we get yellow tail and white seabass, along with permit fish and various types of rock fish. And don't forget the occasional dorado. No hard feelings though. I'm sure that Florida and Cali are neck and neck in the fishing department.
