Damn just what i needed and I'm two minutes in. I always start mixing while in the idea phase so extracting stems to another project entirely is perfect
Yep, gonna listen to the song again and again, I feel like I've missed hunderds things now ! Loved this video, I didn't understand a lot but you made it sound easy ahah have a fantastic day too !
A 'Her' production video would be awesome! I'd also love to hear some of your thoughts on Mastering. I understand you didn't want to touch it in this video, but perhaps you could give the basics of mastering for people like me who have not entered the sphere before. Keep up the great work!
Insightful, beautiful piano, thanks for sharing these tips Tom, I'll apply some of these techniques to my ambient side projects :), those strings man 🔥
Never could get into this hobby, I can barely play the baby version of Star War's imperial march on the piano, but I listen to a metric ton of ambient among others, and was always curious to see how it is mixed. I expected more sound samples, less digital instruments. Absolutely fascinating though! Thanks for making this video! Good luck with your mixing, I'm off to listen to Switzerland now then!
Absolutely fascinating, really enjoyed this - thank you. Something else that would be really interesting would be to watch a track being written from the start, with insights at each stage of its evolution. I appreciate that might be a pain for you to do, though.
Thanks, Tom. It's always insightful when musicians share their processes. Some excellent takeaways here. Love this track btw.
Awesome Tom,
Love your work, man! New subscriber! Cheers!
Thank you so much for explaining everything so clearly. Found so many gems and insights that I couldn't have stumbled upon on my own.
This is what i always wanted to see since i discovered your music. Thank you!
I like the new direction this channel is taking :)

This is really useful! Gave me a ton of ideas to try. Really clear and easy to follow to. Thanks!
Very helpful !! Thank u Tom
This was really informative, my mixes have been coming out quite muddy and not many people touch on mixing for soundscapes. thanks for the video.

I love your music. :-)
Hi Tom, fantastic work. Just curious, how loud in LUFS would such a track be mastered commonly? Thanks:)
Really nice job and track sounds great. Which strings sample library have You used in this track?
Cool but will putting the widener on the master also mess with your mono instruments like bass and kick?
Yes never do it lmaooo
Have you got anything on doing these pads?
talking about panning would have been good too
Gain stag. you shd have everything peaking around 16 then balance with faders
