Tomy Trackmaster Talking Percy - Rebuilding

Here is my longest video yet.
I have rebuilt a very poor condition Tomy Talking Percy and brought him back to life. It came in a lot I bought that the seller was certain Percy was not a Talking model. I bought it anyway knowing better. :-)
It took several evenings to complete the work on Percy because I was filming it too. It should only take an evening or 2 to get to the stage I'm at with Percy. He is not finished yet as I have more detailing to do on the outside like re-colouring the buffers and repainting the roof of the carriage. This extra work I will complete at some other stage a I have a few trains projects in the works which, of course, I will post when they are finished.
This video is not meant as a 'how to' video, it's just a video of what I did with this train.

Wow you have worked magic i would have said that was far too gone to be fixed. My understanding of electrics is very basic at best tho :p

Thanks Samueljaros. I hate to see these harder to find trains go to waste. I had a very minor fix for our talking James with just a cracked connector. I have old style Thomas, James, Percy and am on the lookout for Diesel 10, Toby and Henry even if Japanese versions. I think there is Gordon too, to complete the set.

I think was Talk N Action Thomas Set, includes American Accent Thomas, Alec Baldwin US Version Accents Percy and James, Japanese versions include Toby, Diesel 10, Gordon and Henry.

You can actually swap resistors out with wires if the resistors happen to start causing issues somehow
