Beautiful. I have a 71 240z and a 83 280zx turbo. Both 5 speeds and show worthy. I love them both.
Beautiful car. Love the carb setup, definitely something I’d love to pick up for mine some year.
I'm quite partial to the Dellortos now. It's a much more spirited car with them vs the SU's. Definitely recommended it. Can't beat the sound either!
Nice video, just subscribed hoping for more Z videos. Makes me happy to see another person keeping the L series over an engine swap. I've had my 280z for about 7 years now and have built at least 5 other Z cars with my friends. The best way I like to explain these cars to people is basically like owning and driving a classic Porsche with the sounds of a classic Ferrari and in my opinion these cars are so overlooked now by generally anyone looking for a fun car, classic car or a cruiser.
Thanks so much! plan on getting some more videos out with some different style content. I completely agree, they're totally overlooked and underrated. I'll keep the L series for life. Too distinct not to. Happy to meet another purist!
Mine was green 💚 loved it. Someone stole it 💔VROOOOM VROOOOM
And dual Hitachi carburetors you do not need to flow meter to adjust them you can use a short rubber hose stick one into your ear and the other one to each carb
@@lindapettibone9042 SU's are amazing carbs. They're so reliable and easy to work with. Sadly you can't beat the sound of triples and the make more power. But they're both amazing options!
Where did you get those seats? They look pretty good.
@@atlafalcons they're a bride style seat. Very old model. I actually got them through a shop quite some time ago so I'm not sure where to find them now
Nice. A few things I did:
Copper heat shield helps
I went with an aluminum radiator & oil cooler because I drive hard.
You sound Canadian (I could be wrong) but if you have a good mechanic in your area, try to learn from them too. I lucked out by learning about my car in Japan with the mechanics there. They have a different understanding from us Americans.
Please get a front and rear strut brace! It makes a world of difference for something under $500.
Thanks for the tips! The strut braces are actually going to be my next install. Although I'm very relaxed with the car.
And I am Canadian. Good ear!
Good choice on the Dellortos, they are a much better road carb than the Mikunis, and at least as good as Webers.
I love them! They sound amazing and are straight forward to work with. Helped a couple alfa guys with theirs
What wheels are those? They look nice!
They're 15x9 and like a watanabe r- type style. I can't recall the exact model as I bought them through an online marketplace 😅
@@somefitcarguyoffset?? Didn’t know they where that wide! No rubbing??
@@S30Chris it's a 0 offset and no rubbing. Fenders are rolled but the car is high enough where it isn't an issue
