I wish he transitioned throughout his 4 fighting styles in this fight. Starting off with thug and eventually switching to slugger while using the surprise switch attack to catch you off gaurd. Eventually switching to breaker after being knocked down while doing the same spin attack that Jo Amon uses in his fight. and then finally switching to Mad Dog. It would've been cool having to deal with everything you learned about Majima in order to take him down.

Cool enough, but I get why they didn’t go for it. This fight is supposed to be the dragon vs the mad dog, but yeah, they definitely should have given him more phases and more health considering how broken dragon style is, especially with the payback ring and dojima amulet

The best boss fight in any video game is just someone who use the same mechanics and equal in term of skills as you.
advanced dodge mechs, using heat moves, style switching on the go..etc i just love whenever games pits your protagonist against the other protagonist
Agree, I think dmc 3 did the same thing because vergil also grew stronger lile dante with new weapons and combos
What makes it even better is if they make them playable, which shows you just how important they are to the main characters overall growth in terms of strength.

Man, that long-ass grind it took for me to get here....it was worth it for sure.
This is (in my opinion) one of the best fights in the game honestly and in the end you become peak Kiryu from this, it works both in the context of the world and the player. *That's rad.*
Kiryu becomes more peak in kiwami 2 tho
@@malyteusz555 I agree. Dragon Engine games in general make characters more peak...Judgement and Lost Judgement look so good but too bad the actor for Yagami's Talent Agency ain't gonna let a PC port of either of those games happen.

honestly just because of how powerful Dragon is if anything Dragon vs Mad Dog would be even less fair than switching. it's not like you can even enter the fight with a balanced version of the Dragon style since you need all the Dragon skills including the ones Komachi teaches you.

I’m upset I never got the chance to do this boss fight, I got as far as S Rank in Majima everywhere but ended up completing the game right afterwards and I accidentally proceeded to then overwrite my save like a dumbass.
Hey I have a problem where I need 2 more of the Majima emails but I haven't got them, it's the last 2 emails how do I get them?
Depending on what they are/were, you probably had to do certain sub stories that related to some of the cities activities, such as bowling, pocket circuit and that desu king card game. Those were the last ones I needed, and I got them after progressing in both storylines a bit. You see him pretty early on challenging you to those games, so it’s not like you have to spend hours unlocking his encounters. Pocket Circuit will take a while tho...

Majima everywhere is a cool concept, but executed poorly with terrible RNG to never see certain Majimas.

I don't think Shimano ever had control over Majima apart from Yakuza 0 in one scene. If you take a closer look to Majima's Legend name "Mad Dog of Shimano" "Mad Dog" is a term wild & crazy as Majima does whatever he wants. (I don't think I answered your question but try to look for it UA-cam or others)
Patriarch is a higher title than captain.
He may be captain of the Shimano family, but also is Patriarch of HIS OWN family. As we don't see what happens between 0 and Kiwami, my wild guess is that Majima just played along Shimano's game and climbed up the ranks until Shimano said "wait he's that high already? .... Well shit"

Try playing all mini games with Majima (billiards, darts, bowling, shogi, etc.)
Oh and the special encounters like Goromi, in M Store Shichifuku st, the macho videotape etc etc

Yakuza 0 is a storytelling and acting masterpiece. Kiwami has too many repetitive fights with Majima. I'm starting to lose interest.
How I feel tbh. Like the system is fun and has great moments, but I can only fight Majima so many times when I'm trying to do something, that it annoys me. I love the cutscenes and seeing some of the stuff like him just popping up from a corner or even the air, but not if I'm trying to go do something quick
