661 fish modern reels their handle shaft is usually supported by a ball bearing and as long as the side cup that covers the gear housing is made out of metals aluminum and such there is no way for the handle shaft to wear out. What could potentially happen is that the pressure from great leverage may cause the roller bearing which work as anti reverse in the side cup to wear.
@@Stevenseagull666 I see, that's why, when you speak of leverage, that smaller baitcasters have bent handles from the torque a person puts on it from grinding on big fish.
Robert Ramirez I’d rather buy a rod or reel for that much. I hope to get lucky and find a new one when they manufacture them again. I spoke to a DRT rep and he said they will be making more soon. How long is soon? 😅😫
Hell NO they're not worth it, $200 for a handle is insane! But for along time we fishermen didn't have much of an option for a nice aftermarket reel handle or knobs, you had to fork out big money to get a nice handle, but not any longer.. with Gomexus offering the same product for a fraction of the price and it includes the knobs and hardware, I'm hoping it will put all these companys over charging for handles in a hard place and have no choice but to lower prices. It's a win win for us fishermen, and besides, reel handles should never have been that expensive to begin with.
DRT is providing a fashion show for all swimbait anglers these days. It's become more about showing off a full arsenal of overpriced accessories than having a functional upgrade. Now I'm sure the grips are of higher quality than the gomexus ones, but $200 for CNC cut metal handle is laughable and I wish people would stop paying it just because of the DRT name. But I agree, I'd rather have 4 new handles for 4 reels than 1 handle that I also have to buy separate parts for just to assemble...
I have a Jackall crawler. Honestly they are fun to toss. But I honestly have yet to catch a bass on this. IMO I think it’s just all hype. I’ll be recording it again Tomorrow in Lake Berryessa again. I hope I get a big one it.
I just snagged a Mother for $200, so I won’t be getting a DRT handle for a while. But I can definitely see myself snagging some down the road for my reels.
Outstanding video. I know this sounds kind of dumb but would it be possible for you to eventually do an installation video? I'm confused about whether or not I have to purchase a different nut. (I have a Calcutta Conquest, Z2020, and antares monster drive). Just want to make sure I'm getting the right stuff and setting it up properly. Thanks man. Absolutely love the channel and watch everything you put out.
christian colabelli For the shimanos, you have to get the daiwa and abu Garcia nut and it’ll work and for the z2020, get the daiwa (stand alone) nut and you’ll be good to go!
$200.00 for a handle seems crazy but swimbait guys will buy aftermarket baits for 500$ + and not even fish them. At least you’re getting use and enjoyment out of that 200$ handle
Tommy Lucks I don’t think it is heavy. It’s a very comfortable reel, I can’t say enough good things about it. It’s a game changer. That’s entirely up to you sir everyone is different but in my opinion probably 30 would do the job 👍
Tommy Lucks only difference between 2015 conquest and 2018 conquest is the the new were one has synchronized levelwinder, faster gear, and different brake adjustment. Even tho 15 conquest is 5.8:1 ratio the pick up is 30” per crank and relatively it is almost as fast as 7:1 gear ratio of conventional bait caster.
I broke my Calcutta 200 TE geara 3 times with the livebait power handle. On many of my saltwater reels, factory handles are adjustable. I really think based on reel design, some handles will ruin reels, some designs it won't.
There is no justification for $200 handle. Only reason why they are priced that way is beaches they are hypeded and that only a small amountt of people are buying them anyways that's it. It's literally just a pice of metal or carbon fiber with some ball bearings and nobs. This community is always trying to price themselves out of regular people
a HANDLE that’s half the cost of the reel itself? absolutely not. if i’m spending $2,3,400+ on a reel... i’m not investing in a $200 handle. but aye, if I paypal you the cash will you pick me up some citizen 6’s? lol.
You’re quickly becoming my favourite channrl on youtube 💪🏾
Alessandro Girardi Thank you my man! Hope I can keep it up!
I’m sure you can
Here in Italy swimbaits are not that popular but we recognize they’re potential
Good look on the in-stock monkas ^_^ Totally worth the 34 ads I had to skip over. Great channel man!
I appreciate the shout out bro! I was wondering why my subs have consistently gone up the last couple days haha
Gomexus has 120mm handles for big baits!!gonna try some myself
Keep the uploads coming!!
I remember guys putting bigger handles on the old jigmasters and over time it would wear out the shaft for the main gear.
That's a solid point. I didn't think about that 👊🏻🤙🏻
I wonder if that is still the case on newer reels with technology improving on reels

661 fish when you’re in the moment and all that adrenaline rush some how creates enough power to bend those flimsyass stock handles lol
One word ...... YES
I can’t find the DRT Varial handles anywhere 🙁. Do you have any tips on where to find them?
bizibeatz Silva eBay $400-500 used, try some swimbait forums might get lucky and maybe a little cheaper. Good luck

They just dropped a bunch last week actually! They didn’t last long though unfortunately! Always look on DRT USA for them!
crazybassfisher what day? I usually check since I’m up at 4am. I did get lucky with the VTS 7 2 packs ea color
crazybassfisher just my luck while on vacation and trying to stay off the grid. How do you like that Z2020. How does it feel ergonomically?
That edit with the trailer and then the hook up was nasty!

Austin Torres I haven’t had a whole lot of luck on the crawlers but the fish I tend to hook are on the bigger side, good luck out there man!

Northern Michigan Angler Hell yeah! A mother for that price is amazing!!

@@crazybassfisher you're the man! thanks so much. I sincerely appreciate you taking the time to answer that. cheers!
I wish drt would drop some more handles. Buying on eBay is ridiculous, I have a reel I want to upgrade and cannot get a handle without dropping $500.
$200.00 for a handle seems crazy but swimbait guys will buy aftermarket baits for 500$ + and not even fish them. At least you’re getting use and enjoyment out of that 200$ handle
Drt handles are so smooth. I love the 117s, I have bigger hands. so sick. Drop some zpi oil in those bearings. 🤙
Always wondered why baitcasters had such small radius handles.
The DRT Handle is from Livre Megatech finest Japanesse Art!
Mr. Redfin Yeah! Those handles are pure beauties!
What motor do you have in that Ford Ranger?
Love these kinds of vids!
Caleb Smith Thank you for watching bro!
I was deciding if I should get the new Shimano Calcutta conquest A or the old Calcutta conquest and what size for the hinkle trout 300? Or 400?
I own the older model in a 400 size and its an absolute beast of a reel. Perfect for the big baits.
Trraav is it heavy at all ? And should I use 25lb or 30lb for my hinkle trout

kazuki3639 thanks brotha 💯 ima pick up the 2018 conquest A 400 And see what it’s worth 🤙🏻
Great video boys 👊👍
The drt handles are great. To me though I'd rather buy a stock z3 or tranx and use money for baits
David Krumme absolutely man! Definitely other routes out there!
Can't go wrong with DRT!
Trraav DRT makes some badass handles!
Will these handles fit on a Shimano Cardiff? I'd love to upgrade mine. The knobs are way too small!
Dosage Dame The DRT handles and hawgtech handles should fit perfectly on the Cardiff’s! Just get the right nuts and you’ll be good!
@@crazybassfisher Thank ya KG, your the man bro. Love the videos!! 👑

400 Calcutta live bait handle
You gonna try to get the ryoga? My friend is loving it
Aquavert GreenWorks No, it’s a little too small for my liking overall, badass reel though!
Thanks for this vid. It’s informative.
23blocc Thank you for watching!
Omg look at them wood measuring boards
You should do some live swimbait Q&As
Fish Boy That might have to happen soon!
Agreed!!
great video, handles do make a difference
Kevin Atwell Thanks for watching my man!
Hawg Tech has a 110mm handle now for $99, a good substitute for the hard to find JDM ones by DRT or Livre.
Gomexus!!!
Save the manuals!
Jared Lang Some people will never know the feeling of manual!
🔥🔥
will these handles work for any baitcaster i got a couple basspro n daiwas
🤙🏽

The metal you say is make from titanium so the price is right there.
Buy a $40-50 Gamexus handle from Ali and forget about these $200 overpriced shits.

Based on reel design.. broke some reels cause of it.
No. Gomexus.
