I always use super worms, while I agree they won't eat through the stomach they can bite pretty hard I've had my skin broke open before that was a rare occasion but it hurt like a fire ant would.
Didn't realise that was even the controversy xD xD My deal with mealies is I don't give SMALL mealworms to my beardie, because the high content of chitin makes them less nutritious than other options and has apparently been known to cause the occasional impaction....that was the only beef with mealies I was aware of. Any biting issues with giant mealies I assumed was attributed to the owners being bit in feeding, not the lizard getting chewed up from the inside. AFAIK giant mealies have a better ratio of meat to chitin so they're good. People do this weird thing where they forget animals exist, you know, in the wild. Sure a lot of the ones we keep are the domesticated version, but I don't think that lizards would do too well in the wild if they kept getting eaten from the inside by their prey. They got some sense. Sometimes. *looks at my beardie taking a dump in its worm bowl* Cheers brah, you making my point for me real good here.
I tired to feed it to my baby leopard gecko with tongs and when Severus refused it I let it get close to my nail while I shut Severus’ enclosure and I felt something hard on my nail. Little shit tried to bite me. Then again Severus did try to bite me too.
Lol, right!! If it was true that superworms could chew through the lining of the stomach then they would not sell them live as feeder insects!! Use your heads people!! I turn my superworms loose in my hedgehogs sand box and let her hunt them. The worst that can happen is she gets smacked on her cheek by the worm 😆😆 and they are most certainly dead when they reach her stomach. She chews her food very well.
This myth might have came from a parasite that might have chewed its way out of a bearded dragon or a frog and it was mistaken for a superworm or the fact that superworms have large pincers
Old hecking video, but it sucks to see how excited you were about the worms in the 2000 worm video, and how deflated you seem here. People are dumb. Bearded dragons chow on a lot more dangerous bugs than superworms in the wild.
Superworms DO bite, got my Halmahera Gecko some superworms and one of them but him three times. So I call it BS when people say they don't bite, while they aren't out to bite, if they are handled a certain way they will bite. While they won't eat through the stomach of your pets, they can bite them like the superworm I tried to give my gecko bit him once on the forehead, once on the lower jaw and once near the area where there'd usually be a cheek. I'm not saying this to get you down, I'm just saying this to defend the fact that superworms do bite but it's just a bite they don't eat anything alive just fruits and vegetables as well as oats overall they're completely safe for pets to eat.

Mine is a pet and I kept poking it and it latched on to my finger and I plucked it off and looked at it. It had it's mandibles (biters) out. It got angry for some reason and "bit" me
I was holding a meal worm or super worm. And it “bite” me and i was shocked and i was like. “Nope your getting eaten” and fed it to my blue tongue skink
If people are worried abt them biting, would it be possible to cut their heads off before feeding? wouldn't the body still twitch abt to get the lizard to still eat it? or feed the pupae?
yes I did, he mentions that cutting the head of would be pointless as the worm wouldn't move, I have heard others say they do still twitch abt. As for the example of not biting through his skin, I would expect that the consistency of human skin and the stomach lining of a lizard would be completely different. I have also seen a video where they tested if they could eat plastic/styrofoam and they could eat the styrofoam! so if they can bite and ingest that, maybe their jaws are strong. However I wonder how long they would even survive in a reptiles stomach with the stomach acid! video of them eating styrofoam /watch?v=a_-JwWIaWVY
Then why don't the people at Petco stop telling people to cut the heads off of the super worms! I spent two months of my life trying to research the truth on this. Shame on you Petco! My issue is this....she won't eat her greens anymore so it's not a balanced diet.
One time I lost a super worm & I guess it was on my bed idk how but I woke up one night from a dead sleep because I was pinched on my balls. Damn super worms that shit hurt
Found this because I was messin with one I had for my turtle and the son of a bitch sprayed somthing at me, i didn’t know they do that. Always thought they were helpless and haha ur gonna die noob, but then he sprays shit at me
I also don't believe that story a bearded dragon's Jaws are extremely powerful and as shown in this video it will bite the super worm in half instantly before chewing it up more so there's no way it's going to chew through a bearded dragon stomach people believe that the superworms can chew through frogs because whenever a frog eats get swallowed alive and whole but I don't believe that either Sure a frog doesn't have the type of teeth to do any damage to its prey so it goes down well it still alive unless the Frog was eating the feeder insect in the world and drowned it in the process Even if the super worm is inside the Frog it won't be alive long It will drown and stomach acid well getting digested so there's no opportunity for the superworm to chew through anything that eats it whether it's a bearded dragon or a frog
I've been bitten by my darling Beatles and my superworm when I did get pitting I was putting my fingers directly into their mandibles ask for my darkling Beatles I just got bitten on the finger none of the bites hurt but it was something you can feel the bill bit into my finger and try to dig down into the skin
I've never been bit by one lol I clicked this vid because it said "letting one bite me" was like dude no they don't bite your just feeling their legs hang on. But I see it's an educational vid so good on you for debunking that they bite ✊
I haven't watched the video yet but I've seen some of the comments and I just wanted to say. Super worms CAN hurt your animals! There's plenty of first-hand accounts online. All you need to do to make sure your animal is okay is crush the worms head with tweezers before feeding!
Superworms do BITE if they are still alive inside of the animal. But considering that most reptiles chew up the food and the superworm dies fast once in the stomach, it is very safe. But if u pinch and hold a super worm, and let it bite a napkin those suckers are strong lol
Keep posting man I just sat watched like 10 of your vids, keep it up

My girl bit my "superworm" one time. I didn't enjoy it.
You do you man
Found this because I was messin with one I had for my turtle and the son of a bitch sprayed somthing at me, i didn’t know they do that. Always thought they were helpless and haha ur gonna die noob, but then he sprays shit at me
thanks for the info, and if your reptile loves them, keep on feeding them :)
I also don't believe that story
a bearded dragon's Jaws are extremely powerful and as shown in this video it will bite the super worm in half instantly before chewing it up more so there's no way it's going to chew through a bearded dragon stomach
people believe that the superworms can chew through frogs because whenever a frog eats get swallowed alive and whole but I don't believe that either
Sure a frog doesn't have the type of teeth to do any damage to its prey so it goes down well it still alive unless the Frog was eating the feeder insect in the world and drowned it in the process
Even if the super worm is inside the Frog it won't be alive long
It will drown and stomach acid well getting digested so there's no opportunity for the superworm to chew through anything that eats it whether it's a bearded dragon or a frog
Proven them wrong BOY😎
No more biting.
Lol hah I feed these to my baby red foot tortoise
Feed my chinese water dragons superworms for years. No issues
Stupidity. The only thing they do is make my beardie fat. I have handled and fed thousands to my reptiles
My 2 year old plays with them all the time...
their bite is very weak, I've given them to all my bearded dragons for years and years lol....it's all good lol
Week unless you have weak skin like on your hands I have been bitten by a whole bunch in my hand

I feed my bearded dragon super worms also
Don't listen to people...
Feeding your bearded dragon mealworms is bad bc its veryyyy high on fat
I don’t like them grabbing me
Who play rain bow six ps4 nice video
Yolo
lowkey u kinda look fried
Lmaooo 😂😂😂😂
I haven't watched the video yet but I've seen some of the comments and I just wanted to say. Super worms CAN hurt your animals! There's plenty of first-hand accounts online. All you need to do to make sure your animal is okay is crush the worms head with tweezers before feeding!
Superworms do BITE if they are still alive inside of the animal. But considering that most reptiles chew up the food and the superworm dies fast once in the stomach, it is very safe.
But if u pinch and hold a super worm, and let it bite a napkin those suckers are strong lol
Stop it plz stop people just stop just be nice to plz stop being mean to he
People are so dumb. Just put a superworm in water it will die in less then a second. How will it survive in lizards stomach:) so dumb
