I appreciate the link to the therapy stuff that could help some people out! But I do wanna say I think you missed quite a bit, all the time eren spent in the paths the history of his father just wanting to leave the internment zone and having his sister eaten by dogs. I think the episode where it shows you yimirs history is one of the most important of the series the 2000 years of the dark history of titans and people eating each other and yimir being a slave in the paths to forever create titans, it all comes back to being free I think you hit all of the conflict spot on, but I think the deep inner conflict of the show literally comes back to yimir and the attack titan and the 2 episodes that correlate 2000 years, and the memories of the future episode really put into perspective the dark reality of AOT and that is where I think erens mindset comes from. Other then that love your vids spot on review
It's actually a very SIMPLE problem, with a very simple solution. Take NOTE of Eren's plan compared toe ZEKE'S plan. We all know it, but you know WHY it's the total opposite??? Eren is freaking 19 yrs old!!! He doesn't even KNOW what love is. Clueless about Mikasa. Now Zeke is a FULLY grown man, a war VETERAN, and EXPERIENCED first hand how Eldians are being treated. That's why Zeke's plan is about saving the WORLD 🌎. NO DEATHS required.
I'm POINTING out the AGE because, the PERFECT example for this is... HOW OLD is Pres. Joe Biden??? He CAN'T EVEN SOLVE his problems. The man has ADVISORS for crying out loud. Eren and Zeke DOESN'T have the luxury of having ADVISORS.
@@mcdcrss43 zeke was willing to keep yimir a slave to the royal bloodline though, the show is about freedom man. And to keep on moving towards that freedom, from the very first episode till the one that just released zekes plan might have been more peaceful but wasnt fully achieving the freedom eren wanted
@@megahaogie1784 freedom???! What about the FREEDOM of the 90% of the WORLD'S population?!?! Hange, Historia and the REST are WILLING to ACCEPT anything just as long as they STOP Eren's plan!!!
Eren is in a way, a self fulfilled prophecy. The world was so afraid of the idea that the Eldians would destroy them, would flatten their world, that they tried to kill them first, and like many old legends of oracles and prophecies, the actions they took to try and prevent it, in the end, were the very thing that caused it to come to pass. So great was their fear of a devil, that their fear and actions willed him into existence. Eren is the devil the world hath wrought, and I suspect only a few responsible were able to see this was the case, most would die to the feet of the titans, entirely unaware that the only reason this happened was because of the actions taken against Paradise, and that vengeance must sometimes be sacrificed for justice.
Marley: *antagonizes Paradis for 100 years and treating Eldians worse than second-class citizens while brainwashing them into believing its justified all while stubbornly refusing to self-reflect or consider peaceful alternatives* The Rumbling happens Marley: *surprised Pikachu face*
But the same can then be said about the Yeagerists. After having faced this oppression for so long, they then immediately started to do the same to the non-Eldians that were on the island, like killing that unarmed volunteer, cheering for Onyankopon to be executed and slitting the throats of Kiyomi's men. This is, unfortunately, the nature of humans. Marley was oppressed by Eldian, the positions flipped, and now they are flipping again. I think trying to place full blame on any one group is a mistake. There weren't many people on either side that tried to actually address the wrongs that have been committed throughout history. That just lead to hatred festering, and this is the result.
@@Alex_Johnson_ Yeah this whole thing is just a vicious cycle and it's not going to change unless somebody recognizes it and chooses mercy instead of continued oppression. But who knows when that will be?
"We used hate, raised hate, believed hate to be our savior. We left all the problems we created on the Island of Devils, and as a result. That Devil was born, to return the hate we gave it"
@@jayvhoncalma3458 Although Annies dad is in the panels. I interpreted it as the Marleyan soldiers speaking the dialogue. Either way, when I first read the chapter, it one of those rare and powerful occaisions.
Even if Eren did the small scale rumbling just on Marley, the world would still hate titans. Marley used the titans to conquer others countries causing people to fear and hate the Eldians. Long story short, Paradis was a few years from getting Hiroshima'd EREN IS RIGHT
Tbh they'll get hiroshima'd eventually, he just delayed it. As that hiruzu lady said, the world is only gonna get smaller. New nations will rise from the ashes, fight, and a Rumbling will need to happen again to reset humanity.
@@racool911 The walls are down the people of Paradis have a bigger world now and if Eren completes the rumbling the rest of the world is their for the taking. Yes wars will happen but Eldians will continue to exist
@@racool911 I mean there's no way for that to happen if Eren killed 100% of humanity outside the walls. At most you'd have some Paradisians who would oppose what Eren did but that wouldn't amount to much
So you missed one thing. Eren knows he will be the last attack titan holder because he hasn't had any memories from future holders. So he IS reaching his goal of exterminating the Titans. Somehow, he knows that all of this will result in the end of the Titan curse one way or the other. By rumbling all the humans with memories of the Titans outside of paradise, he is creating a world where noone remembers the crimes of either side, or the horror of Titan warfare. Sure humans will always have conflict, but without the Titan curse, they are free to choose that conflict themselves.
Super late reply but that's not true at all. The future titan holder could be choosing to not share the memories. Eren only shared certain memories and certain times with his dad.
It took me until this episode to fully wrap my head around Eren’s mindset and motivations, and although grim, they really are justifiable from a certain point of view. The only other options were to let the Eldian race be euthanized, effectively dooming them to extinction, or wait for the world to kill them off. Perhaps they could hold their own for a time with their Titans, but technology would eventually surpass them, and the inheritance of the Titans would cut several lives tragically short already, due to the curse of Ymir. What Eren wants more than anything is for Mikasa, Armin, and everyone else he knows and loves to live full, happy lives, and the rumbling is truly the ONLY way to guarantee that. No euthanasia, no enemies, and no more Titans - just a slate wiped completely clean, the only world in which Eren’s family can have that life he wants for them.
@@racool911 The plan does work, but still relies on Historia/Zeke's offspring maintaining the founder's power to defend the island as they all slowly die out over the next century. Which means more children eating children, shifters passing on their powers and Paradisians with shortened lives who have no choice but to remain on their isalnd for the rest of their lives. A slow but peaceful death within a hardened cage. Assuming that Eldians would continue to suffer forever otherwise it isn't the worst plan. But Eren's friends deserve better than that.
It all makes sense from Eren’s perspective and life experiences. And the alternative choices are grim too, especially how you pointed out how technology will eventually beat the colossal Titans. I can’t help but remember that one decide they used on Paradis on the walls - where the Titans would get lured to poke their head in a hole on the walls and a log would drop down on the nape of their necks and how it didn’t take long for them to come up with that with the limited technology they knew at that time! And especially since Eren saw it all from when he touched Historia…. It seems he put the decision off as long as he could?? I wonder what Erwin would have thought of all this… great video as usual and I love how you do your best to look at things from different POVs
It doesn't really makes sense cause he's literally doing the same as others did to his mom. Yet, he knows that, but his rebuttal is basically "i know, but fuck it."
@@D_Jilla honestly though like ... if a group of people with enough global power killed my mom and tried to kill me and all my friends for my entire life , and I had the power to get rid of them all I would and I know a lot of people would . It makes sense to destroy everything because Marley has a lot of allies and even the non allies will see what Eren did to Marley and would attack out of fear . So “don’t stoop down to their level” mentality is a super privileged mentality to have on the outside . It’s like saying “The US could have ended the war in a lot of way without nuking 2 civilian cities “ I mean it’s true but all is fair in love and war
@@anthonydominguez4744 it's not even about "not stooping to their level." It's about ending the cycle of hatred. Eren says this is the only way to end the cycle. But, people are debating so much on Eren's justifications that we forgot the words of Mr. Braus. Remember Eren's actions led to Sasha's death. Even as her father he knows forgiveness is right. Not for his sake. So that the children can leave the forest.
I bet Eren would’ve confided what he saw with Erwin and he would’ve understood. He would’ve tried to find a different path but ultimately he knew that the future was set in stone and that it would likely come to pass. I can see him sayin “I see… 🤔 so this is what will become of us….”
Some people don't even understand just how difficult this situation was for Eren. Eren has the power of the Attack Titan and therefore is constantly reminded of the future to come and the hatred the world would continue to have for the eldians if he doesn't go on with the Rumbling. There would never be a world were the Eldians would peacefully coexist with the others. Eren wants to kill the world and leave the Eldians while Zeke wants to rid the world of the Eldians. Eren and Zeke completely understand there is no coexisting and it was even evident in both of their plans. Understanding Eren's objective is also key to understanding how limited he was in terms of options. Eren's main goal is to see his friends live happy lives and to live without the dear of being eradicated from the face of the earth. With the goal in mind, there were some major factors that pushed Eren to committing genocide on a global scale. Eren doesn't have time on his side as his plan to use the Rumbling wouldn't age well due to the rapid development of Anti-titan technology. Also, Eren himself doesn't have a lot of time to act as he only has 4 years left to live. He could have activated the Rumbling much sooner but he chose to delay his plans with Zeke to see if there were any other options. And going with Zeke's Euthanasia plan was not in line with Eren's main objective as his friends cannot truly be happy the rest of their lives as they cannot give birth to their own children and yet there's still no guarantee that the world wouldn't hunt then down for the rest of their days. Finally, Zeke himself had just less than a year to live. So, the Rumbling was bound to be impractical within a very short period of time. The only other way to activate it then, would be to turn Historia into a Titan and that was exactly what Eren was against. So, looking at all those factors, I honestly can't think of a better solution than what Eren chose to do.
Remember, Eren has only 4 years left to live based in the titan curse. If he is going to guarantee the survivial of his friends, he needs a solution that would long outlive him. The rumbling is the only way to ensure that the outside world would be dehibilitated to such an extent that his friends would never be under threat of total destruction in their lifetimes.
@@nekosalad8308 Easy answer is looking at eren. He was not part of any military establishment as a kid but his anger and hatred consumed everyone uncluding marley. Fear of something makes other people feel hatred for that particular thing they fear, and they will do anything to remove that object from their lives or they will inspire other people to do it for them. Half measures never work.
Great video, I notice a lotta people see Eren as a complete villain but they ignore the fact that Paradis would be absolutely slaughtered in a complete one sided fight against Marley and the world. The islands options are literally a fully scale Rumbling or you wait to be killed. The islands technology is so limited compared to the rest of the world
Yeah people really don’t realize that .. all they think about is genocide but ignoring the fact the entire world wanted to commit genocide against the eldians
Even if Eden gets rid of all the enemies and other civilians of the nations, the natural resources would be destroyed too. If we remember, erens dream opposes armins “freedom” of seeing frozen lands etc. Instead, eren envisions plain flattened land which I think is depressing and very corrupted version fo the worlds natural beauty. If he had attacked Marley’s military base and threatened people who would discriminate against eldians he could’ve achieved some peace and technology from successful nations to advance the island. Those who showed hatred could be killed and those who didn’t would’ve been given a chance to live peacefully. However I know this may not be easy to do as it’s hard to find out every marleyians and others intentions so wiping out 80% of the population would seem easier, yet it is brutal. It’s so messed up but a dog eat dog world it is !
@@toxicology5547 that ideology is why paradis got destroyed in end, world hatred for eldians or more specifically island devils had evolved to point where it was cultural hate and part of their whole social foundation
I think people keep missing that it’s less about ending the cycle of hatred, and more about surviving. Either Eren does this, or everyone in Paradis dies sooner than later.
you do realize that if Eren does do this then that leaves all the titan powers that were spread between Marley and Eldia all on paradise island and the same thing that happened with the old endian empire when they were done killing other people, they started fighting each other for control over titan powers, The great titan war will surely repeat in the new endian empire the islanders are trying to form. Armin acknwoledges this during his breakdown.
@@lilmupp875 and with the founding power Eren can erase any future inheritance of titans. He could literally change every Eldians biology to where they can’t turn into titans. He said to historia he was done with kids eating their parents. He wants the titans gone too

@@tdwwxyz and this is what ppl don't understand, they think he did this to save the island. in reality the island is already saved, why he push on isn't to protect the island, but to end the curse of the titan. it is very heavily hinted at that on his dialogue with historia and ymir, he is doing this for them. for those that think this is about ending hate, are they even watching the same anime? the people on the island are already fighting each other, war will never end, but using titan in war can be ended.
Just noticed that young Eren who saw his mother eaten and villian Eren with longer hair had the same clothes, another sign i guess that he was always the same..
Finally someone addresses how ridiculous the 50 year plan is, the world is ready to attack Paradis anyway, and how Eren literally has no time on his hands. Eren doesn’t care about the Cycle of Hatred, he just wants to give time for his friends to live. It’s all about survival
true, by the time 50 years plan end almost all of the civilized world will have the power of the atom by then and just nuke the island off the face of the world without setting a single step on the island.
@@TheAeroAvatar thats your understanding, their is no wall they can go where the fuck they want ,or you think people only reside in that small island for 70 years ,by the way the eldian blood line over
You're arguments against the rumbling are pretty poor imo. Firstly, you seem to be interpreting the cycle of hatred as conflict in general, but it is openly stated that that isn't the case. Eren doesn't want to end all hatred and conflict, he wants to end the specific hatred that has caused so much pain to him and his people, and which keeps them under constant fear of extermination with no way to stop it(aside from the rumbling). Secondly, his core motivation was never to kill all titans. That is demonstrated when he spared the Titan during the expedition to the sea. His goal was to be free from all who would cage him, when he learned the titans were just tools used by the outside world, the titans ceased to be his enemy
I’m surprised no one has mentioned this yet, but what about the ecosystems? Besides humans, Eren is also essentially wiping out forests, mountains, and all sorts of wilderness and animals that inhabit them, practically making some species extinct… just to wipe out humanity. Will paradise even have enough trees and wildlife to sustain a globe?
That’s fair, but tbh, he’ll probably aim to steam roll every urbanized area. There’s too much countryside and while I have no doubt he’d be willing to feed anyone and everyone to the fire, he would probably only go after those he’d find. Without a country those few stragglers (even if a few urban centers remained) would swiftly become vestiges of people who are now dead for the most part. This would promptly throw them back to the medieval era if not further. Your point is fair though, if his aim is indiscriminate destruction of damn near everything (like a loose application of weed spray to a yard) yeah, ecosystems would be devastated and he might as well have sent a meteor to earth.
He did kill 80% of the world, so it must have been a widespread attack, but i don't think he rumbled through their version of like, the Siberian wilderness or Sahara.
@@geeljire9247 Super late but what about marine life? The rumbling basically turned the ocean into soup with all the steaming hot colossals in the water.
@@nothingtoseehere1221 True, but i have no idea how it would affect it. I guess we just make our brains take a backseat and enjoy fiction, as long as it's not overly ridiculous lol.
Erens point was not that there will be war no matter what. His sole purpose what to give his loved ones happy and long lifes. Outside of that no matter what's done history will always repeat itself and he's just making it so when he's gone his loved ones will live out there life's without fear and worry. Eventually they will be happy and die happy. Which alot of people I honestly think would do the same given the same exact situation that Eren had. He had a couple options but this was the only one where he could guarantee his loved ones would carry out their life with happiness and longevity.
I dont think eren once has contradicted himself. His wish was to eliminate all titans, when he discovered that the titans were humans sent by marley, he wants to destroy the people that sent those titans to paradis. And i dont think erens objective is to end the cicle of hate, i think he understands that it wont end, he wants to protect the people he loves and the only way he found was unfortunately this...which sadly is true
This made more sense. Humans made the titans because they hate Paradis and wanted to wipe it out and Erin wanted to kill the people who made the titans. I'm only on the first season but thank you for clearing this up. I can definitely understand Eren for this choice in using the titans to wipe out the outer area and I'm sure he would've been hated for it but if he succeeded, it would've definitely been for the greater good. Titans would eventually die out and people could move on and live happier. I've seen everyone saying how he is the bad guy but this shows that you gotta kill some people for the greater good.
I believe that when the rumbling is complete, the Eldians on paradis will fight amongst eachother over who supported Eren‘s plan and who was trying to oppose him
I can't express enough to tell just how this one episode really showcased just how much of a tragic and complex character Eren truly is. After seeing his dad memories, he made his mind clear on ONE thing that the people on the other side of the sea were his enemies who were willing to take away his freedom so killing all of his "enemies" was therefore the only logical way to resolve this issue (the issue of not only his and the freedom of Paradis Island on stake but also of the cycle of hatred between the Eldians and the world). It was only after he went there to Marley with everyone else is when he realised that on the other side of the sea, there were indeed MANY innocent people living there lives who had nothing to do with the hatred between Eldians and the entire world. That's why he was so fazed out, that's why he cried when he saw the sight of that refugee camp (it reminded him of the conditions his people on Paradis suffered when the walls were breached) because all these people who again had nothing to the conflict between Eldians and the enitre world were going to get killed in a horrifying way by Eren through the Rumbling. One more important thing by this point is that Eren by this time was still trying to ignore the future he saw in his dad's memories after kissing Historia's hand. All those horrific things he saw his future self doing in those memories messed up his mind so much that he was desperately trying to look for an alternative way to resolve this whole issue (which I've mentioned previously above) without initiating his "Rumbling" plan. This is why he asked Mikasa what he meant to her hoping her answer would give him a way out from going through that horrific path he saw in his memories. It was until he realised after a while that everything was playing out EXACTLY as it did in his dad's memories. That horrifying realisation that no matter what other path or action Eren would take, he will keep going down that ONE path he saw in those memories. The path which was leading him to his "freedom". The path which kept on telling him to "keep moving forward" to see the final outcome. The path which Eren didn't plan on to take but HAD to take for the sake of achieving that "freedom" he always wished to achieve.
Thank you! This is what I have been thinking all along, and couldn't get why a lot of people weren't realizing, based on what we have seen about Marley and other nations in previous episodes, that Eren had pretty much no choice if he wanted to have his loved ones and his people survive longer than the next few years. Glad that episode makes it clearer that Eren isn't just some crazy genocidal dude
I wonder what would have happened if Paradis could have been able to turn the world's nations against Marley. Reminding them that Marley chose to continue the cycle of domination and imperialism after the Eldian Empire fell using Titans. Also, Marely's plan for Paradis was to take the founder AND harvest the resource on the island to fuel there military because titans were going obsolete.
@@ndongengone7284 I was thinking maybe a country that hates Marely enough to at least hear the Paradis people out. Like the country Marely just defeated in season 4 part 1.
@@shyannlatimore9747 So you misunderstood the author's point. Marley and the nation that best treats (if you can call it that) Eldians in general. Hizuru is the exception among all. This means that outside of Hizuru and possibly Marley as well, Eldians are treated even worse elsewhere, but this feeling is even deeper towards those in Paradise. There was no way to even begin to consider arguing with people who saw you as a bigger threat than Marley. It must be kept in mind that the whole world has a real hatred against the eldians, but even more against paradise and the whole world is aware of the threat of Karl Fritz concerning the Great Terace. Willy Tyber's speech was just a reminder of this threat, but also brought a new element, namely that the non-aggression pact which had maintained the balance until now could now be broken at any time. Countries all over the world have always known that paradise island is the greatest threat the world has ever seen, but since he lived their lives on their side without disturbing anyone, then other countries around the world had no reason to worry. focus on Paradise, focus on conflicts between countries. But it was during Tyber's speech that they learned that this great threat, sleeping until now, had awakened. This is to say that in the eyes of the world, Paradis represents a greater threat than Marley. And we must add to this, the greater hatred they have towards the Eldians compared to Marh. This is why it must be understood that they would not even give any opportunity to the Eldians of paradise to give their point of view. They don't see them as humans, but as true cunning demons. For example, for the forum on the eldians proved it. If Hanji had tried to speak as a representative of Paradis, they would have signed their death warrant. To discuss with u, it is already necessary that this one is ready to hear you.
After the second world war ended, there was people who wanted to exterminate the germans, I heard of a politician who wanted to implement a plan to slownly starve then. Morghetau would split germany, tear down it's factories and make it impossible for it to receive food aid, it was extimated that 25 million germans would die. And those who supported it believed that it was the right thing to do. In fact there where some massacres of german civilans in Postoloprty and other places. The truth is that Germans where brainshashed into believing that if they lost the war that their entire society would die, but the allies instead sent food aid and helped rebuild teared down factories and towns. Our world choose the higher moral path and extended a hand and this helped stop the cycle of hatred. (One of the things that helped the political party in power at that time get in power was promissing revenge over versalies, the loss of colonies and things like that.)
A perfect example of a Greek tragedy. Fighting against the fate and at the end of it all ending up at the dead end of the path that lead to this very point from the beginning.
Marley essentially knew Paradis had a nuclear bomb. What did they do? Tried to invade the island to steal the button. Guess what Paradis does in response? fires it
i think the story is well done. AOT's whole story is like a breath of fresh air from those generic "hero saving the world". for me the questionable moral values and his decision for rumbling are not plot holes and that people in general are consumed with emotions and stupidity. he might have ended most innocent people and took their freedom, but this is such a story. not every story has to be won honorably.
from my perspective I don’t think Eren ever wanted to do the rumbling. manga spoilers after this sentence. I believe that Eren never wanted to do the rumbling in the first place but had to in order to save the ones he loves. since he can see into his future memories, he knows mikasa must kill him so she can prove to ymir that she can sever that bond with eren if it’s mean saving the world, something she could not do because of her love for king fritz. I think this is the only way the curse of ymir could be lifted and the titan power eradicated from the world.

there is one thing we have to remember, the attack titan does not see everything in the future. it it did, eren father would not have choose the path he took. Eren's believe of "the only choice" is a false choice in itself.
As a manga reader and with no spoilers all I can say is Paradis would benefit from the rumbling but Paradis’ safety was not Eren’s sole motivation for activating the rumbling as the next episode in part 3 will show although if you look closely it has been referenced a lot why he keeps pushing forward
I'm not a manga reader I know what you're referring too. If it is what i think it is, then I don't think the rumbling is worth achieving that. And, i don't think a lot of paradis folks especially his friends would appreciate the cost of it.
@@D_Jilla finally someone who gets it and yes I agree with you the rumbling isn’t justified in any way. AOT discourse can be so toxic that I forget some anime onlys understand the story well or even better than some manga readers. SPOILERS!! "The rumbling, it's to save Eldia" But it's more than that" "I was so disappointed" "It wasn't anything like in Armin's books" -These lines from chapter 131 are among the main reasons why Eren went for the rumbling. When he found out that the world is not what like he imagined in his youth, he was disappointed. He envisioned "Flaming seas, frozen lakes, etc." He wanted to wipe it all away. In order to experience his version of freedom.
Manga spoilers: it's such a big misconception that eren didn't want to do the rumbling but he saw no other choice to save the island, in reality, eren destroyed the world because he wanted to do it, his motivations are pretty well spelled out in chapter 132, when he learned that humanity lived outside the walls and the free world he saw in armin's book didn't exist he was extremely disappointed, and so, he wanted to destroy it all, not because he wanted to save the island, but because it is what he wanted, and he couldn't help himself from wanting it, he knew that zeke's plan was probably the best option, letting eldian have a peaceful painless death was the best option, but eren wanted his friends to live long lives, and that included historia, and zeke's plan needed historia and her children to eat each other for the next generations, eren couldn't care less about the island's or paradis' future, as it has been shown many times, in the last chapter in that alternative reality where mikasa answered eren's question differently eren ran away with her to live his 4 remaining years with her, resulting in the island being destroyed, the rumbling was a way to experience the freedom he sought and save his friends' lives in the process
This is very, very accurate. From how I see it, Eren's plan was never to end the cycle of hatred, but rather It was to ensure that his friends lived long happy lives free from the threat of eradication and hatred from the rest of the world. Also, he wanted to see this happen for as long as possible. So with him having only 4 more years, Zeke dying that year and Anti-titan tech developing at a rapid pace, activating the Rumbling sooner rather than later was the only way to go. He never wanted to save the world, He never wanted to be the King, he just wanted to save his friends. Eren would rather kill any one in his way than let someone threathen his freedom or the freedom of his friends.
Eren did want to save the island loads of examples that support that like when he was crying to ramzi and saying he is doing the rumbling to save the island considering he could of not mentioned that to him because he knew he ramzi didnt understand him anyway so eren wasn’t saying what he wanted to hear so you know eren was being genuine , he would of not let Sasha die if he wasn’t trying to save eldia , eren would’ve not followed the future that was set for him which included hurting his friends in the process if he was not trying to save the island or didn’t care about saving the island Also eren was disappointed how cruel the world was to his people he thought it would just be as beautiful as the world they saw in armins book Eren didn’t think zekes plan was the best option eren thought zekes plan might of been easiest option but he just “couldn’t accept that “ Eren isn’t really interested in the things in armin book thee reason he is was because he didn’t have the freedom to visit them because of the walls and the outside world cruelty Eren is also doing the rumbling so his friends will be seen as hero’s who stopped him and that will ensure paradise and his friends safety
One is, peace was never an option. Seeing how marley treated eldians, or how paradis was made an scapegoat for the outside world problems, it was clear. "It was us or them in Eren's eyes" .
Eren did it bc he knows that his friends will stop him. He’s aligned everything for that future to occur. Once they stop the rumbling, the rest of the world will see that they’re not all that different.
Oh there is going to be a LOT more Floch videos, probably two more I'd say in the pipeline, one about his role later on and the other which actually is a comparison video to another character. I adore analysing Floch, he is one of the best in the series for a reason.
for me, it wasn't hard to see things from eren's point of view, but the problem is that he has such a one-track mind that once he sets his mind on something, nobody can stop him and he can't see the other solutions that may be out there. but since he is so desperate to "save paradis", he is willing to sacrifice the world to do it and that's what makes him so terrifying as a person
To me, it's bad enough that the entire world seemingly dislikes everyone on Paradis Island out of fear and call them Devils, but the fact the Eren took his angst out on everyone, justified or not, whether they were involved or not, seems to exacerbated the problem.
Eren's purpose was to buy enough time for paradis island to fully developed their technology to match up in the outside world. The rumbling is given them an edge and years. You can see the epilogue on the manga where paradis island has Missile defense systems when they are under attack.
@@TheAeroAvatar The cycle of hatred still continues but alteast he ended the titan curse and saved his home island for a time. It wasn't justified but in that situation there is not much you can do at all.

AOT is saddening, it's not about ordinary oppositions between good an evil, it's about the real evil side of the human nature ,when everyone is a villain and everyone is the enemy .
Eren wanted to start the rumbling. In the manga when he was trampling people to death he happily shouted "This is freedom" and at the end of the story when he was talking to Armin he admitted that he would have started the rumbling even if he hadn't have known that his friends would have stopped him.

I think Eren always wanted to defeat the enemy and in season 1 that was the titians in season 2 that was zeke,Reiner bertholt,in season 3 he realized across the sea the world was the enemy so hence he steals their freedom or they steal his
EREN IS VERY AWARE OF THE CONTRADICTION OF HIS IDEOLOGY. why do you there's an entire segment showing the scouts enjoy the company of refugees??? Its been stated numerous times throughout the show that in order to win paradis must abandon their humanity and become devil's. Eren isn't stupid because he's contradicting his original motivation of wanting freedom, the entire conflict for his character is set up on that principle.
Amazing analysis! I think its possible that eren also wanted to do it because the outside world wasnt the way he thought it would be this is what he told to Ramzi when he was saving him and crying to him.
Eren realized that people are people and the only real difference is what side you choose to be on; since there could be no peaceful resolution it would mean either his people or the rest of the world would have to perish...
Actually, I wanna add to his “Better Help” advertisement. I use Better Help and it’s fantastic. I’ve tried COUNTLESS therapists in my region, but they always - ALWAYS felt like it was their business to tell me how to live my life, and tell me “yeah, but you need to get over that.” But Better Help? I was BLUNT about “not having a therapist who tells me what to do. Not negotiable” and…my current therapist DOES NOT “tell me what to do”
Love that you found a therapist for you. I also used better help for a few sessions and even with the limited time, my therapist really helped me analyze my thoughts and actions in a different wayn
I think this is a pretty narrow interpretation of erens actions and doesn't explore him as a character or his motivations. He doesn't care about the island of paradis as much as his beloved friends. Eren only seeks freedom, and will steal the freedom of others to preserve his own twisted version of it
Still i support Eren...He had no choice,i don't want to explain things here in comments but if i were in Eren's position, maybe i would do the same ;who knows
So your definition of saving the world is to make your entire race and everyone in your homeland infertile and let them be wiped out of existence over the next 100 years, despite the fact that the largest and most powerful superpower in the world, is in fact doing exactly what the Eldian Empire did to them and using Titans to enforce their will and control on the entire world, and using people of that race as essentially livestock and cannon fodder and making them eat each other or by turning them in to monsters. Okay then lol
@@Stygiophobic there's NO right choice!!! Only LESSER EVIL. Which is WORSE??? 90% wipe out?!?! Or 10%?!?! REMEMBER BOTH are wrong... which one is WORSE though?!?!
@@mcdcrss43 You're right that no choice is right it's all perspective. But you're not taking in to account, Eldians make up the majority of the population in the world. That 90% would have more Eldians in it than all the other races of the world combined. By not doing the Rumbling, Eren isn't only condemning Paradis to extermination he's condemning every subject of ymir (The majority of the world) to being treated like livestock for the rest of their lives and in this case Marley would then also have the Founding titans power, and they were already oppressing every other nation and brainwashing Eldians for 100 years. The Rumbling ends all of that.
He has 3 different generations of memories and can see the future. In the long term maybe this results in less deaths. We can't see everything he does.
It certainly doesn't result in less deaths, but that doesn't matter. The world wants to exterminate Eldia, and they cannot ever be convinced to not do it. Eldia has a right to not allow itself to be wiped out, and the only way they can stop it is with the rumbling. It's terrible, tragic, heartbreaking, cruel, and justified
he cannot see the future. if his father could see the future, he would not have done what he did. what is shown to him is a manipulation. also what eren did isn't the only path, armin knows the other path, eren did not pick it because it would require turning historia into a titan, that is why eren talk to historia and told her to be selfish. he did this to carry the burden himself but it isn't the only way.
From Erik Killmonger to Eren Yeager, millions of marginalized groups have felt the passionate urge to give into hatred, in response to their oppressors, and these characters exemplify what that emotion's like. "If they want my people to be Devils then I'll give them a Devil" is what's being shown here, with the righteous path being that the oppressed people having the burden of being the better person. I feel that Attack on Titan S4 is doing what good storytelling should, evoking empathy for an audience that would likely feel distant from the characters' circumstances.
Keep in mind during Attack on Titan Marley scenes we know they were roughly in the 1930s and the blimps and blood tests and finally the Ottomans who had tanks on trains almost powerful enough to kill any titan. Eldia was quite likely only 10-30 years away from getting nuked once they had enough bombs to destroy them and then tanks and aircraft to take down any titans left. Eren had no choice once he saw the weapons except to let the world kill his people or go forward with project rumble.
It's Levi's fault. Eren was always a monster. He was always ranting in Season 1 about 'wiping them out'. And the german lyrics in OP1 explicitly said the boy of lore would 'pick up the dark sword of hate and anger'. You just didn't notice because Eren rarely had agency in seasons 1-3. This last episode had Mikasa asking herself "If I had only answered that question another way, would he have done..." then flashback to years prior with Eren deciding genocide was his option before ever leaving the island. And his conversation with Floch was like "I've decided I'm going to do this". No discussion with his friends or his superiors. He just cherry picks the people hotheaded enough to agree with him. He probably decided he wanted to genocide the world before even knowing the world existed. And no, it isn't just tragedy, because damn near the whole cast has watched friends and family die. Armin and Mikasa lost their parents too - you don't see them itching for more violence. Sure, *now that he's pissed off the entire world* in may be "the only option". But that's after systematically removing all military and diplomatic options Paradise had. All he really had to do was get Zeke to *not* win the battle of Fort Slava. Then the world would be fighting each other and Paradise would have time to catch up in tech. (Also I reject the idea of technology making titans obsolete. They're just reaching the point where they have to give the titans weapons, such as the Cart's canon mount.) So why is it Levi's fault? Because back in the S1 trial scene, Levi kicked the crap out of Eren and then promised everyone in the room he'd keep the monster on a leash. But then later he started softening up and seeing Eren as a comrade. What he needed to do, in hindsight, was kick the crap out of Eren every night so he wouldn't dare develop megalomaniacal tendencies or go against the chain of command.
It's not Levi's fault lol. Remember, the Marleys were intent on wiping out Paradis Island before the show even began. Either the entire island is wiped out, or there's a hard reset to the world without titans being part of it. He didn't suddenly decide genocide was the only option, he quite literally SAW the bloody future and knew how things were going to play out lol.
I mean Eren wants his friends to live happily lives , destroying his enemies but at same time it's his only option even he explained to the others why he is doing it.
honestly its so heartbreaking that titans were never the problem ,it was always the humans...their hate and fear towards other humans was immeasureable.... and so is happening in real world..
Exactly. It literally is a curse. We see it, we want it to stop. It never can. It never will. And we'll never be able to reconcile anything longterm. So close yet forever far away.
I think you forgot about what he told zeke in memories of the future. Pretty much said I will take someones freedom before they are able to take mine. So him murdering the entirety of the planet when the world declared war on paradis already is aligned with that.
Even now I can see the rumbling as reasonable. In his eyes, either Eren needs to genocide or sometime down the line, maybe soon or maybe 2000 years in the future, his people will be the one Genocided. He sees the people on the island as the only ones able to accept change, so they are the only ones he wants to protect
I mean it's to save a few thousand of people who are also innocent or shitty, or to spare 7 billion. It's not logical. It's human. He thinks his friends matter, his freedom, his happiness, which would be ok, as long as he didn't take it away from literally everyone else. Eren did something human, not logical. The wars would have lessened with no eldians and /or titans around. And people could change. Everything comes to pass, but he took that chance from everyone. Nothing is ever certain, there is no pre-written fate, only a path risen from our choices. He took the freedom of those choices from everyone else for a shallow, short term, selfish goal. It's not the intention, it's the nature of it. He had no empathy. No compassion. No forgiveness. It's really just something that real ppl do. There is no hidden plot, or masterminded agenda. It's just eren being a human, cycling the hate on a larger scale. He never broke it, he just outdid them...
Zeke was more correct. Eren knows that sooner or later eldia will be erased. So did zeke. Both cared about people. Difference is eren killed the world for his friends to live their lives (not their ancestors), zeke wanted to do the same, but he could have done it without genocide of everyone else. He would have given everyone their short peace without killing the humanity.
@@ndongengone7284 and 80 years is much more closer than we are in this reality. Did we hate the Germans today because of the Jewish genocide? did we despised the Japanese for their atrocities during the second world war? the answer could be yes and no. people that says No are the ones who accepts change and and the willingness to move on, but never forgets. Because you cannot blame the mistakes of the past to the next generation. And the people that says YES, refuses to let go the hate that has been passed on their by their forefathers, but accepts change but never fully forgiven the past. They just hold it until they pass it to the next generation. You can take south Korea and Japan for example.
Hey I just wanted to say I love your videos, but I disagree that the pickpocket should have been punished. It is morally wrong to withhold food from a starving person, let alone punish them for merely trying to survive.
AoT anime andy here, sharing my observations from the anime alone: Eren claims he is doing it for all the subjects of Ymir, but at the core of it, it's all rather simple - he's doing this for the people he loves, his dream for them to be free and live long lives even if it means sacrificing the outside world and countless innocent. From his perspective, subjects of Ymir are forever tainted in the eyes of the outside world, as long as that hate remains, in Eren's mind his loved ones will never be truly free. Was it the right choice? It's a horrible choice but in this instance I cannot call it neither the right nor wrong choice either. It's almost like a natural disaster, the only thing you can do is to try to survive. Marley's hatred of Paradis, Ymir's hatred of the world, Eren's dream for freedom, the amount of hatred has reached its boiling point.
From what I understood from the manga and anime, Eren did the Rumbling because it was already written in stone that he was going to do it, although he didn’t want it, all he did was follow the path laid for him. After he kissed historias hand, he knew about the rumbling and he did his best to avoid it, but after asking Mikasa what he meant to her, he realized that there was nothing he could do to change it, as He already knew what mikasa was going to say. So In a way, Eren was the slave all along, only following the path that was set for him, without any will of his own.
The path was set out BECAUSE he wanted it. The concept in philosophy called Compatabilism. He wants to do the rumbling, of course he’s horrified by the aspect since he kisses historia’s hand, but then realises more and more that this is want he WANTS to do. It’s explained in later manga chapters.
@@akhiltrc9708 I agree. Eren's path was laid out for him BY him. He ultimately went through with destroying 80% of the population for no more complex reason than that was what he wanted to do. Although it's tough for some to accept, Eren is a character who exhibits selfish behavior, and is both the protagonist and antagonist of this story. That's what makes the writing so great.
@@corporatehippie5275 I hadn’t thought about it like that. I thought someone else like Ymir laid the path for him, since she was the one sending him memories from 2000 years ago, but it makes more sense that it was laid out by himself, since at one point he even says he didn’t know what he was doing and his mind was just a mess, so he was the one who originated the whole story at from the beginning, he just didn’t remember until he kissed historias hand maybe
One thing I don't see people stressing enough is that in a world with only paradisians, you technically resolved the most fundamental difference in human populations in the setting. The problem with the Subjects of Ymir is that they are literally supernatural, and as such it's not hard to see why Eren would want to create a world where people can't exacerbate their hatred based on actually justified fear. Eren himself said it, eldians are seen as demons because they have the potential to turn into giants that eat people. There's no way around that fact.
I think that Erens method to ending the cycle of hatred wasn’t just to flatten the world. I think he wanted to become the symbol of hatred as a beacon to allow everyone to join together against him. I think he pushed Armin and mikasa away so they could fight him too and in turn be the heroes that ended him allowing them to have a reason to say to Marley that not all eldians are bad made clear by their efforts to stop one of their own citizens when it would only benefit them if Eren succeeds.
Even if the rumbling could work, a new generation of people would repeat the mistakes. If eren survived the rumbling, he could create an archive of the true history of eldia given he has the coordinate. Like how grisha wrote the people outisde of the wall, eren can write the events that lead to the rumbling
I would add that Eren's main motivation isn't necessary to end the cycle of hatred--it's to protect the people (armin, mikasa, and others) from harm. That would justify his rather "meaningless" rumbling activation as you've mentioned. I like to believe Eren deep down is still less altruistic about the future and relationships of the world than to still protect his people.
how many of his "friend" died because of his "attack". armin will die to the curse, so will he too. the problem isn't really with his friend or even the island, but historia and ymir. in the end he was program to serve to goal of breaking ymir out of the cycle. that is to end titan kind. else they can just have someone else inherit the founding titan and use historia. the different titan represent the different part of ymir... the attack titan is ymir wish to be freed from the curse. this is why the attack titan is the only one that survive capture in the titan war engineered by the founding titan. we are watching the inner fight of ymir playing out over thousand of years as she tried to free herself from being a slave.
@@lagrangewei I wonder if the attack titan's programming plays a big role in the manga, but it doesn't feel clearly shown in the anime so far. Eren controlled by Ymir is a very interesting thought, though I doubt how Ymir needed a specific Titan's strength to help considering she does have the power to... do it herself. I still stand to think Eren is a free man and values his friends (shown in several episodes including end of season four)and I don't think the outcome of the fight influences that thought process of his.
imagine if erwin was the on chosen to be revived. Would you think Erwin would go along with Eren's plan? or He'll take charge to be representive for Paradis Island?
Erwin would have went with Eren in a heartbeat. Erwin was always willing to sacrifice lives to protect the people of Paradis Island. Erwin couldn't care less about the rest of the world as the world is trying to kill his people.
AOT for me, imo is like a warning when you bullied someone to such an extreme that the bullied retaliated in the most horrific ways imaginable. Think of Eren like a bullied kid who decide to do mass shooting in his school. But instead of shooting the one who bullied him, he went after not just the one who bullied him, but also the bully's parents, friends etc (even the Innocent one as well). I don't approve Eren's action. I think he's a pathetic POS, but remember who created Eren? So remember folks, Don't Bully people. And Also if you heard Any Hate Propaganda , always ask of why should i hate them? and Also remember = NEver EVER give a nuke red button to a 19 year old kid
Just watched the last episode and I still didn't fully understand why Eren would resort to this extreme.. Great video! One of the few anime where I have to stop and process what happened. Really no anime could top this one
Have you watched the entire series or just the last few episodes? Time was running out as was stated for like 3 seasons of the show, that titans were becoming ever-increasing irrelevant because of the advances in weapon technology. Almost all of the civilized world will have the power of the atom and just nuke the island off the face of the world without setting a single step on the island.

Eren pretty much forced the world to make this decision. I am sure most of us would've done the same living in that world and had that much power. But the cycle will repeat itself no matter what, it's human nature to fight to survive and survive just to fight
I know it sounds superficial but the world brought it to themselves, when they were busy sending titans to eat the devils of the island a real devil grew out of their circle of hate and violence, not to mention Marley's thirst for power!!. Eren is the devil they created.

This is exactly how I see it. Well said.
Bingo
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
well said brother u completly understood the depth of AOT
Remember, Eren has only 4 years left to live based in the titan curse. If he is going to guarantee the survivial of his friends, he needs a solution that would long outlive him. The rumbling is the only way to ensure that the outside world would be dehibilitated to such an extent that his friends would never be under threat of total destruction in their lifetimes.
then why not only target the military areas? isnt genocide too far and too unhinged for such goal!?
@@nekosalad8308 becaue the hate would not be erased with just militarys. And eren had many traumatic situations that would explain his choices.
@@kleinezeugs4719 yeah people want vengeance when their homes are destroyed
@@nekosalad8308 Easy answer is looking at eren. He was not part of any military establishment as a kid but his anger and hatred consumed everyone uncluding marley.

Just noticed that young Eren who saw his mother eaten and villian Eren with longer hair had the same clothes, another sign i guess that he was always the same..
The only thing he has changed is that who he sees as enemies. They're no longer titans but LITERALLY EVERYONE OUTSIDE THE WALL.

Most of the world's oxygen comes from algae.
He did kill 80% of the world, so it must have been a widespread attack, but i don't think he rumbled through their version of like, the Siberian wilderness or Sahara.

This!

And they would have had what platform to be heard ???
(One of the things that helped the political party in power at that time get in power was promissing revenge over versalies, the loss of colonies and things like that.)

i think the story is well done.

"The rumbling, it's to save Eldia"
But it's more than that"
"I was so disappointed"
"It wasn't anything like in Armin's books"
-These lines from chapter 131 are among the main reasons why Eren went for the rumbling. When he found out that the world is not what like he imagined in his youth, he was disappointed. He envisioned
"Flaming seas, frozen lakes, etc."
He wanted to wipe it all away.
Eren wants his friends to live long life by saving paradis. he hates the outside world because they were going to commit genocide in paradis.
Thats true . I hate when people think , that he didnt want it, he wanted it , IT WAS his choice
Eren did want to save the island loads of examples that support that like when
he was crying to ramzi and saying he is doing the rumbling to save the island considering he could of not mentioned that to him because he knew he ramzi didnt understand him anyway so eren wasn’t saying what he wanted to hear so you know eren was being genuine , he would of not let Sasha die if he wasn’t trying to save eldia , eren would’ve not followed the future that was set for him which included hurting his friends in the process if he was not trying to save the island or didn’t care about saving the island
Also eren was disappointed how cruel the world was to his people he thought it would just be as beautiful as the world they saw in armins book
Eren didn’t think zekes plan was the best option eren thought zekes plan might of been easiest option but he just “couldn’t accept that “
Eren isn’t really interested in the things in armin book thee reason he is was because he didn’t have the freedom to visit them because of the walls and the outside world cruelty
Eren is also doing the rumbling so his friends will be seen as hero’s who stopped him and that will ensure paradise and his friends safety
One is, peace was never an option. Seeing how marley treated eldians, or how paradis was made an scapegoat for the outside world problems, it was clear. "It was us or them in Eren's eyes" .
This!!!! All those people railing about what Eren did forget that peace was NEVER going to happen.
Eren did it bc he knows that his friends will stop him. He’s aligned everything for that future to occur. Once they stop the rumbling, the rest of the world will see that they’re not all that different.

for me, it wasn't hard to see things from eren's point of view, but the problem is that he has such a one-track mind that once he sets his mind on something, nobody can stop him and he can't see the other solutions that may be out there. but since he is so desperate to "save paradis", he is willing to sacrifice the world to do it and that's what makes him so terrifying as a person

LOL The future discussion between Zeke and Armin shows that you have not fully understood the character of Zeke.

@@Stygiophobic that's the PROBLEM... Eren DOESN'T care even if you're Eldians. As long as you're NOT from Paradis... which is 90%, you're FEKD!!!
Well, Eren pretty much explains his main reason in the next episode so i guess case closed.
They're just reaching the point where they have to give the titans weapons, such as the Cart's canon mount.)
So why is it Levi's fault? Because back in the S1 trial scene, Levi kicked the crap out of Eren and then promised everyone in the room he'd keep the monster on a leash. But then later he started softening up and seeing Eren as a comrade. What he needed to do, in hindsight, was kick the crap out of Eren every night so he wouldn't dare develop megalomaniacal tendencies or go against the chain of command.
Finally, Some one with logic in this comment thread.
Levi saved eren ass many times, levi treated him as human not pawn like erwin
Idk about now or recently but I believe before better help had some controversy with the legitimacy of their therapist or something along those lines
I have been told to wait for this video for so long
I mean Eren wants his friends to live happily lives , destroying his enemies but at same time it's his only option even he explained to the others why he is doing it.
honestly its so heartbreaking that titans were never the problem ,it was always the humans...their hate and fear towards other humans was immeasureable.... and so is happening in real world..
Exactly. It literally is a curse. We see it, we want it to stop. It never can. It never will. And we'll never be able to reconcile anything longterm. So close yet forever far away.
Yay, your first sponsored video...I think. Congrats man!!!🤩🥳
I think you forgot about what he told zeke in memories of the future. Pretty much said I will take someones freedom before they are able to take mine. So him murdering the entirety of the planet when the world declared war on paradis already is aligned with that.
Eren literally waited till Willy declared war lmao
Even now I can see the rumbling as reasonable. In his eyes, either Eren needs to genocide or sometime down the line, maybe soon or maybe 2000 years in the future, his people will be the one Genocided. He sees the people on the island as the only ones able to accept change, so they are the only ones he wants to protect
2,000 years lol, it's much closer than you thought.
Brilliant video mate👍🏼
AoT anime andy here, sharing my observations from the anime alone:
Eren claims he is doing it for all the subjects of Ymir, but at the core of it, it's all rather simple - he's doing this for the people he loves, his dream for them to be free and live long lives even if it means sacrificing the outside world and countless innocent.
Longest Ad of YT wtf
Yeah this is definitely one of the biggest reason if not the biggest reason he had to start the rumbling imo
Eren to Marley:
Okay, see... see, now you found yourself a Devil. You was lookin' for a Devil? Devil here now!
I still stand to think Eren is a free man and values his friends (shown in several episodes including end of season four)and I don't think the outcome of the fight influences that thought process of his.
if you justifie Eren's actions there's something extremely wrong with you
imagine if erwin was the on chosen to be revived.
Ngl godzilla would probably beat the crap out of the rumbling
AOT for me, imo is like a warning when you bullied someone to such an extreme that the bullied retaliated in the most horrific ways imaginable. Think of Eren like a bullied kid who decide to do mass shooting in his school. But instead of shooting the one who bullied him, he went after not just the one who bullied him, but also the bully's parents, friends etc (even the Innocent one as well). I don't approve Eren's action. I think he's a pathetic POS, but remember who created Eren? So remember folks, Don't Bully people. And Also if you heard Any Hate Propaganda , always ask of why should i hate them? and Also remember = NEver EVER give a nuke red button to a 19 year old kid
the fact that u compared him to school shooter is already a prove that you missed the context of the show after Season 3. 🤣🤣🤣
Eren went full Micheal Meyers on those kidnappers that took Mikasa when they were kids. Yea this man was destined to be an patriotic extremist lol
But did they want to get erin because he is the devil, or did erin turn into the devil because they wanted to get him
I finished reading the manga and I know the real reason why he chose the rumbling hehe
imo it's one of the best decisions he ever made
but the fact he purposedly made it so his mother be eaten and let the hatred passed onto his younger self is crazy
Me, who read the manga just laughing maniacally in the corner (assuming they don't change the ending)
Hopium of AOE
wouldnt u think if titans became obsolete from advanced tech that it would also eliminate fear of titans in general....
I like to point something out those Canons also weapons including the Warships in Season 4 are World War 1 technology not World War 2 even uniforms.
Almost all of the civilized world will have the power of the atom and just nuke the island off the face of the world without setting a single step on the island.
eren did the rumbling because
1. to save his friends
2. to end titan curse
3. to achieve his own ideal freedom
He could have just attacked military sites @@spartanvgaming9656
Eren is proof that you either die early enough to be a hero or live long enough to become the villain
been binging attack on titan have you?
well with betterhelp, we will help you to see the light in this dark anime.
just a jab, thought it was an ironic sponsor for what we are talking about here lol
Some of the best activation of doom:
1. The Rumbling (Attack on Titan)
2. Shao Kahn Unleashed the Dark Shadow Priests (Mortal Kombat Conquest)
3. Order 66 (Star Wars Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith)
4. Galeem's Massacre (Super Smash Bros. Ultimate)
5. Unleashed the Kraken (Clash of the Titan)
6. Countdown to Destruction (Power Rangers in Space)
7. Skynet Unleashed Judgment Day (Terminator 2)
Eren activated the rumbling because that's what the writers wanted lol
Eren pretty much forced the world to make this decision. I am sure most of us would've done the same living in that world and had that much power.
But the cycle will repeat itself no matter what, it's human nature to fight to survive and survive just to fight
I know it sounds superficial but the world brought it to themselves, when they were busy sending titans to eat the devils of the island a real devil grew out of their circle of hate and violence, not to mention Marley's thirst for power!!. Eren is the devil they created.
This video shoulda jus been a "better help ad* cuz he spend more time being clear and direct with his lil ad then he did with the typic of the video
