    Rockwell impact driver rate at 1550 in-lbs can easily take off most lug nut, on sales at Canadian Tire for $99 and come with 20 year warranty tool and battery.

    Hi young man am glad to see that your like a PC it looks a very nice tools for their price. And when a time to compare the spec. of tools be advise don't look only about the Torque, you have to consider the speeds and ipm or bpm too. Even tho you got less torque but if your tool has a high speed and high bpm you got better results and faster. Thank you and good job.

    I'm going to be buying the combo kit as well as the recip saw. Only because the black and decker 20v max batteries can be retrofitted to Porter Cable. They'll probably serve as general DIY around the house and better than B&D generics. Then I'll keep em as loners and upgrade to a hydraulic impact. Just subscribed btw.

    the "shaking" is the hammers. They "impact" the anvil and drive the screws or bolts. ... And you really shouldn't use a 1/4 drive impact on lugnuts. . It'll work ... But you're over-working the tool and will cause it to fail much quicker than it would if it were being used in line with what it's intended for....... Just trying to help....👍

      I mean it's ok as long as the bolts are under 75 foot pounds

    Speed setting is trigger control, I believe most impact drills don’t have speed setting.

    • @kristopherhasenbuhler5393
      @kristopherhasenbuhler5393 5 років тому

      That's how it should be..
      I've used inferior tools and gotten the job done faster than the competition many times!
      Adjusting through settings because you can't let off the trigger fast enough shows me that you don't do this often
      I perfer speed control to be in the trigger!!!!!

      Cobalt and Dewalt added 3 or so speed selector

      Some of the brushless ones usually have a speed control selector

    I used to believe the same thing with the battery, they ship it hardly charged to prolong life or to be slightly safer during transit. The real reason is to save money. It takes electricity to charge each battery to full capacity, and also takes time, and we all know from industry that time is money.

      GambleFabrications everything comes to the question what is the main application your going to do with the tool, home improvements ? Tradesman? Professional once this question is understood you will be able to pick the right tool/brand for the right price. I'm very happy with all my PC units.

    Stanley Black & Decker now owns Porter Cable

    • @DavidFahrenholz
      @DavidFahrenholz 6 років тому +2

      Black & Decker purchased the Pentair group in 2004 which included Porter Cable, Devilbiss, Delta and others. This was the original incarnation of PC so to speak. They eventually jettisoned Devilbiss and later Delta due to poor sales. PC was absorbed completely into Black & Decker and eventually they offered Lowes an exclusive on Porter Cable after Home Depot turned them down. Home Depot wanted DeWalt which Black & Decker was unwilling to do due to the issues with massive Home Depot returns. This came to be reality when Home Depot returned $10 million dollars in product in one fiscal year leading to cutbacks and small layoffs in the Home Depot team. This was believed to be in response to the DeWalt issue.
      Lowes did take the Porter Cable line, which has no direct lineage, to the prior two lines of cordless tools. These were made overseas and share common parts and design with DeWalt, Stanley Fatmax and a failed to launch mid range tool line. The batteries do share some commonality with Black & Decker as well as DeWalt tools primarily in the shell design. The individual cells are unique based on line and price range. After an agreed upon time frame Porter Cable was allowed to be distributed in other outlets such as industrial channels and small tool resellers.
      Black & Decker merged with Stanley in 2010 with Stanley having 51%of the company effectively making it a take over. There were merger talks in prior years with Stanley but they were never completed. This was due to Alonzo Decker Jr wanting the company to remain intact and stay true to Alonzo Decker Sr's vision of a company that treated its employees like family and staying intact. Even though he resigned from the board of directors in 2000 he still was well liked and respected by the board with the exception allegedly of Nolan Archibald the CEO. They did not see eye to eye according to which why some people speculate he waited until Alonzo Decker Jr passed away before proceeding with the takeover by Stanley. There was a lot of controversy during this period and Nolan retired shortly after the deal was complete. Today very little of the original Black & Decker company remains.

    I just threw one of these away at work. Had it for 6 months and then one battery quit working and the next day the gun started cutting out while I was using it. If you plan on using one of these on a regular basis get a Milwaukee or a Dewalt.

    Wow, a new tool. Looking how it's packaged, I think you got that from Lowe's store?
    For $139, I think that's not a bad kit.
    But looks like Kobalt 24V tools have better value as of now. They are on sale until Sep. 12 and more powerful. ($169 for impact driver and drill combo)
    Since Porter Cable's batteries can be used on Black+Decker tools with bit of modification, it could be more versatile, though. Black+Decker has some good and cheap outdoor tools.
    By the way, about that lug nut test...I think for more accurate test, you should get a torque wrench.
    You can get cheap HF torque wrench for around $10. It's not the world's most accurate torque wrench, but I think that is more than enough for lug nuts.
    And not just for the test.
    You did number of lug nut tests in previous videos, so I believe those lug nuts are not that old to be rusted and seized.
    But the old impact driver couldn't remove the last one (first wheel). That means one lug nut is torqued higher than others and there is a chance either that is over torqued or others are under torqued.

    • @vuaeco
      @vuaeco  8 років тому +2

      I think the Kobalt 24V tools have better value if you need brand new line of tool. But if you already have Porter Cable 20V tools, this will be a good addition to your tool box.

      How much does If I buy

    • @greenskiis
      @greenskiis 7 років тому +2

      Kobalt's 24v brushless line is undoubtedly the better value and product, no contest. More powerful, more features, cheaper batteries, built-in battery fuel indicator, better warranty, not having to deal with a cheaper vs. higher quality model as Porter-Cable loves doing for some unfathomable reason, etc.

  • @TheKurtTribute
    @TheKurtTribute 8 років тому +4

    This tool is confusing me so much. So the Evolution of Porter Cable 20V drills/impacts has been roughly this. The cheaper drill and impact came out, they were of larger size, cheaper quality (plastic chuck, less ft/lbs, no battery indicator, clamp style bit holders), and then the "expensive" ones came out and they were better quality (smaller size, metal ratcheting chuck, more power, battery indicator, magnetic bit holder). Now with this brush less line of tools they have a mix of both, having a charge indicator, but cheap bit holder, and plastic chuck. I sunk the money for the brush less drill and impact, I'm just hoping they don't come out with a better version in four months.

    • @greenskiis
      @greenskiis 8 років тому

      Believe it or not, your order's a little off: Porter Cable's initial 20v fasteners were the higher quality/metal chuck/magnetic holders/battery indicators products, and then they came out with the crappy quality ones after. (I used to work at Lowe's; trust me, it was confusing back then, too.)

    • @TheKurtTribute
      @TheKurtTribute 8 років тому

      +greenskiis okay. But do you see what I mean? This tool shares traits from both, could they be coming out with an upgraded brushless later?

    • @greenskiis
      @greenskiis 8 років тому

      It seems like power tool companies are releasing newer versions of their drills and impacts every 2 years or so...perhaps. Porter-Cable doesn't release new tools at the same rate as, say, DeWalt or Milwaukee, though. I agree that I'd be frustrated if I was invested in their platform as these should be premium-quality!

    • @TheKurtTribute
      @TheKurtTribute 8 років тому

      +greenskiis not really frustrated, they do want I want. But it a new better one is coming out I would have rather waited for that

    • @TheKurtTribute
      @TheKurtTribute 8 років тому

      And what is the difference between the two PCC640 Impacts? Different color battery indicators and the bit disconnect are the only things? When I was buying mine I found that I could buy either and PC told me they were identical tools internally.

  • @Xixu.co.6

    You can literally buy a dewalt, Milwaukee, makita, or hitachi for the same price.
    Both dewalt and porter cable are made by sbd, but dewalt is supposed to be the premium brand. It makes no logical sense to buy porter cable, especially with that cheesy charger they give you.

    We’re those lug nuts we’re even tight? No way a 1/4” should be able to remove them that easy if they were 100+ft/lbs
