Really good demo, mate! I took an intensive navigation course earlier this year and we practiced a bit with solar navigation. Your demo was quick and really got the point across effectively. I think this approach would have been really effective at the class. I tell you what, brother, after using solar navigation to navigate across some fields and through some woods, it really drove home the importance of bringing a compass with you. 😁
Thank you! Yes absolutely agree! This method is vague at best but as you know helps prevent lateral drift in an emergency situation if you’re walking great distances for long periods without any equipment. At least you won’t be walking in circles. Land navigation is a great in depth subject that isn’t fully appreciated by many or truly understood just how complex a subject it can be. Your course sounds great! Definitely valuable information! Very best wishes brother! 👍🏻👍🏻😎👌🏽
Mr.Andy it's always good to see you sharing your thoughts and knowledge with us bruv! I know I appreciate any bits of knowledge that people share! Hope you and Mrs.Wendy are most excellent and that your weekend is truly blessed! Cheers, Kimmers and Jerbs #neverquitquitting #beup #DSKFS #22ADay 👍🏼🇬🇧🔥🔪🔥🇨🇦👍🏼
Thank you brother! I appreciate your kind support! We’re both doing well thank you. I hope you and kimmers are too! Take care and very best wishes my friend 👍🏻👍🏻😎👌🏽🙏🏼🇨🇦
I first learnt this technique as an army cadet probably late 70s. And I remember our instructor explaining that you could use the same method for a digital watch ( which were all the rage back then ) Anyway my little head could never work how as they don't have hands🤷♂️ Was only after doing a nav ex some years later in the military it suddenly dawned on me what he meant 😂. Great informative video mate especially in this day and age when most people these days use their mobiles or rely on sat navs. Always good to learn old ju ju just incase the grid ever does give up the 👻. ATB Rob 👍
Out at your country residence I see 😆😆Another informative lesson, not had the compass out in a while I will have to dig it out. Also if you only have a digital watch you can always use your notepad and pencil to draw the clock face and time and use that. Now off in or you will miss the cream tea 😆😆
🤣🤣 rather old chap 🤣🤣…… thought I’d treat myself to a new house with my UA-cam funds 😂😂😖😖….. yes or re enact a watch face with sticks or/ and stones on the ground! Thanks as always my friend 👍🏻👍🏻😎 very best wishes to you and yours
