ive been stuck on wanting to live in sweden for nearly a year now so i love seeing different experiences people have. i hope im not hyping myself up too much but everywhere i go online, i hear nothing but great things!
Funny that you are enjoying yourself in Sweden, tip for you if you want to feel more of the spring, it always comes to Skåne first. I have my oldest daughter and granddaughter living there, so you know spring and summer will get there faster. Skåne probably only has 3 seasons: autumn, spring and summer because they don't get any real winter. Christmas and New Year they can have between +10 and +12 degrees. I wish you and your family a nice spring and hope everyone is doing well.
@@LivingSwedish It's spring in Visby, google webcam Visby and you can see immediately what it looks like there. In My city Kiruna, we are now in Spring Winter (kingdom of 8 seasons), so we still have snow and a few plus degrees. Closer to Easter and during Easter, many people go out with their scooters, scoop up seats for reindeer skins to put on the seat and in the middle of the scooped up you make a fire to grill and make coffee. Sometimes you sunbathe and up here you get tan faster than southern Sweden at this time, when even the snow reflects the sun on your face. Must wear sunglasses if you don't want to go snow blind.
@@Coole-ee1vg Yes, but you Sörlanders can't drive on winter roads and you give a damn about listening to the warnings. It never happens up in Norrbotten that people would act as badly as you Sörlanders.
@@LivingSwedish everyone says that Sweden is an expensive country. I think Belgium is more expensive. You have to pay for everything. If you have to stay in the hospital you definitely need an hospital insurance and I pays for that in Belgium almost 300€ a year!
Hi! I love your videos! I hope to visit Stockholm and many other places later this year! You sound like a great parenting couple! Having 5 children of my own you covered most of the points that I looked for in bringing my children up!! See you in August! 😀
Hej July, thank you for the honest and fresh video! I would like to ask about the "gangs" and crime situation. Is it safe Stockholm nowadays? Because we also did our research and found out very frightening news regarding crime and other violations from gangs and etc. Thank you in advance & have a great week 💛💛💛
I know it's an issue here in Sweden and in Stockholm but I only read about this in the news like you. I honestly don't really think about it (I also don't read the news much). I think it's safe here in Stockholm, much safer than in other cities across Europe and the world. I feel safer here than in London 😅❤️
Good lordi was really worried when i read the headline😁 Happy you're staying😘 Just want to talk about the weather a little bit 🌞☔☃This time of year every Swed is very tired of winter and want to se flowers🌸🌻🌼and green leaves on the trees Vitsippor och Snödroppar🌼💮😊
You did get me and i can understand that the gray weather and dark days gets old after the rosy first years wears of. Interesting to hear peoples opinions coming from other country's.
God eftermiddag! How did you learn Swedish? I started watching Swedish channels, but it is not much help. It is harder than I expected, between no sub titles and different dialects! Have a great week!
I really enjoy watching videos from Peter SFI here on UA-cam. I watch 1-2 videos of him every day. Then I sometimes watch kids cartoons because they're a little easier to understand. And I read children's books as well and translate them :)
Sounds good. That you like it here. 😀 And that you like where you live now. (The area where i grew up. Of course the best place around Stockholm 😉). I actually have a colleague that live close to you. Showed her your snowy street clip. In the forrest behind you house that you mentioned, i and a classmate tested smoking in the late 70s. Ah, those were the days. 😀
A German person moving to Sweden, it must be tough! 😀And how long did it take to learn the language, a week? Then I hope you take your family on vacation from the south of the country and visit the north, which is much more beautiful with better weather.❤
Haha, jag blev lite ställd när du sa nej och tänkte att det måste ha hänt ngt allvarligt. Så ja, du lurade mig. Jag väntar, med spänning, på din första svenskspråkiga video......... :)
We all can´t wait for the spring to come. But i have a question. Since you originaly are from germany. Why don´t you give us an comperison between Germany, UK and Sweden. germany and sweden is in some ways more the same
You would think that but I did make 1 or 2 videos comparing Germany and Sweden as well as Sweden and UK. But I'm happy to compare the three in a video as well. Anything in particular you wanna know? :)
@@LivingSwedish German health care is something I’ve tried to get a grip on, edit: Like how much do you have to pay, how much is taxes, what are your options.
Apu, thanks for your informative video. We want to move Gothernburg soon. Can u pls suggest some location which is good for living in Gothernburg depending on those aspects, Accommodation cost for couples, job availability, transportation, and living costs?
Have you given any thought to Norway before choosing to move to Sweden? I've even heard Swedes admitting that Norway is doing better in almost every aspect.
Norway wasn't an option at the time. We moved to Sweden because of a job opportunity. But I did a little research on Norway after and it looks amazing, too. However, I did read that the weather can be worse and it's also windy a lot. Not sure if that's true 😅
Thank you.. its this you did your "homework", and for some reason chose Stockholm! Its this, with an education and fluent english speaking, there is jobs/oportunities, in any of our bigger Nordic cityes! And if one is an "automotive engineer", its my city.. Gothenburg, nice areas and even a nicer archipelago!
YUP! YOU GOT ME! I just thought that Sweden HAS changed quite a lot in the last few years and become more expensive! BUT later when I heard that you have children, I changed my mind to: NAH! I QUITE Strongly believe that Scandinavia is probably the best place in the world to be a parent AND CHILDREN have it better here than in most other countries/regions! I'm glad to hear that you have been happy here and I believe that your children will be happy and safe here! BUT my advice is! If you and your partner have family and relatives in Germany and Elsewhere - TRAVEL - TRY to make your children multilingual! IT IS SUCH AN IMPORTANT Advantage to have in life? It gives you so much possibilities in life! Enjoy and live well!
I totally agree and travelling is a priority for us so our kids can explore the world too. Our kids already understand and speak 3 languages - German, English and Sweden. What a great start to life! 😊
Hej!
I wouldn't move to Sweden again, nothing personal it's just the quiet society never speaks up, it's not a very confrontational culture if I put it right unlike Germany or Holland which I really like, especially in the workplace.
You must understand that Sweden is much more than Stockholm. And that Stockholm always tries to be different from Sweden. So the real Sweden is outside Stockholm.
Stockholm is part of Sweden and a lovely city! As is the rest of the country. During the years I have had the privilege to live in several nice places in Sweden but also abroad. I really see positive and good things in all places I been to but Sweden really is a great place to live in and I am happy to live here 😊
Pity you dont tell where you are more exactly, that would make your judgment much more believable. Personally I live in Västerås, and I would never EVER move to Stockholm. The quality of life in a middle size Swedish city is far beyond that of Stockholm.
Love Sweden and Stockholm. Visited a lot of cities too. For short and week long stay and... love it! However, it would be unfair to forget the impact of the economic crisis on Sweden's way of life, the crime rate and the schools getting worse and worse. We are losing something great, little by little. Hope the government and people step up! The country, cities and nature are great. Let's not lose either.
