@@aakashchhetri8755 hello! Thanks for watching our vlog! 😀 Glad to know that you found it informative. We had a great time exploring Laos - do head to Vang Vieng & Luang Prabang if you have the chance to! We vlogged those places too! ❣️
Vientiane is very nice capital city of Laos. If you like sight seeing like water falls and coffee farms please go down to Paksong city which is located near Pakse . Very nice .Good luck on your trips my friends ☺️.
@tt260 hi there, we heard that usd got offered better rates so we used our leftover usd for kip. On hindsight, the difference is negligible (as you can see at 0:37) so its really up to your preference. Loca app is simple to setup, we linked a youtrip card and sg number without issues. Do note that comparing to other travel options, a loca ride can be considered pricey and there may not be vehicles outside Vientianne.
Hello! Do refer to Mr. P's reply. Most of our means of transport was not using LOCA the moment we left Vientianne. In Vang Vieng, there are cheaper options, but of course, including having to "car-share" on the vehicles e.g. Song Tiao. Cycling is also a common (and affordable) mode of transport within Vang Vieng & Luang Prabang.
hello @hlub95 thanks for watching the vlog! If you're referring to my bags, the backpack I carry is from North Face, and the sling bag (beige colour) is from Adidas. :)
6:12 correction its Culture Night Market. I was feeling too cultural after eating parts of cow. 14:30, that's the vibe of a 3-4 days chill trip in laos😄
Hi Aries, SGD was listed on both money exchanges (ST Bank and Phonsavanh Bank 0:37), so yes it should be accepted. It does however seem like the USD Kip exchange rates are better. Be mindful when exchanging back as you may get older dirty notes. We got a 5usd note back from ST Bank that the airport DFS didn't accept.
Hello there! Yep, as per what Mr. P said in his comment, USD to KIP exchange rates are better in the Lao airport. The only issue is if you wish to change your KIP back to USD post-trip at the Lao Airport before you go thru the customs....the USD notes you get back from the money changer can be quite dirty-looking/old, and surprisingly shops within the airport do not accept these "dirty-looking" notes when you want to make a purchase. This may render your USD useless. It was quite a frustrating experience for us. 😐
Hi there, this is probably subjective to each individual. Bangkok could also be more expensive in terms of general/ shopping expenses. For us, we found decently priced accommodation in Vientiane, Luang Prabang and had a great time in Laos on a relatively modest budget. Cheers!
Budget is something all travellers have to contend with as we globe-trot. However, I do believe that there is a very comprehensive range of accommodations (hostel, boutique hotels, local hotels etc) across a wide spectrum of price range. In short, there should be something for everyone, regardless of budget! :)
It’s probably dependent on the customs officer/ whether your country of origin is considered high risk. We brought vac certs along in case, but we weren’t checked at any point within Laos
Hi there, Ron. Firstly, thanks for watching my video which highlights my experience in Vientiane. This is evident from how you noticed we explored many food places & local markets. (Noticed that you didn't mention sites of historical significance 😊) Next, I'm not a of journalist or editor profession. I do not create or storyboard my video content based on whether they meet the 8 'news values'. If you're looking for such content, I would think you're at the wrong page 😀. I do, however, value my vlogs because they are of personal importance to me. They're useful for me to look back on & recount my experiences in the country/city. They outline my reflections, observations & thoughts as well. Sometimes, I learn from my encounters & I share these perspectives in the video. My experience in Vientiane is limited to the time I had in the city, in which I spent exploring food options & historical sites. 😌 Hope this clarifies, and have a nice day.
11 hours ago comment on vlog..... Ron means: see me being unable to comprehend that this is a personal vlog that nobody forced me to watch, and me having an innate desire to display my superior complex by undermining others with a disrespectful comment without watching the full video, hence missing out the sites visited & information shared that clearly helped other travellers below. What is the purpose/ value of your comment in contributing to any sharing on Laos? I hope you find it in you to appreciate that it takes time to storyboard longer-form content and avoid posting ridiculous comments in future. It only reflects poorly on yourself. Wish you well, and hope you find other videos that are more suitable to your liking, cheers.

why didnt you guys exchanged the kip using sgd? Is it easy to download and setup LOCA app using foreign credit card and handphone number?

should visit buddha park😄
Haha, it was one of our considered stops, but didn't have the time to pop by for a visit eventually, considering our very short stay at Vientiane. 🤭
Hotels are too expensive in VTE and Luang Prabang Laos. More than Bangkok which is a much bigger metro.
Why is that?

Do they check for covid vaccine passport?
Hello! No, they did not check for vaccination status at immigration or anywhere else in Laos. :)
I just arrived and they just check to see if u have it. U no longer have to bring a passport photo, they have the ability to take photos..
@@tonylinh3791 that's strange..I also asked a lady from other UA-cam channel and she said they didn't check her vaccination status.
