The Millennial coping mechanism of being too poor for international travel, so you say "let's just have an indulgent staycation" by... buying nice groceries that vaguely resemble international fare. Too real.

lol! i almost spit out my drink when the boomer said "sonofabitch it's light ranch!" i'm a millenial, my dad is a boomer, grocery shopping, or doing almost anything, can be quite amusing sometimes, before i found this channel i was honestly starting to lose my shit a little bit, but this helps me remember that he's a product of his time and he doesn't want to change that, so it has helped a lot.
My aging boomer mom when I ask her why she doesn't like Avacado: "I don't eat ethnic food". She lives in Phoenix...all she eats is broiled chicken and salmon. She basically is the ethnic minority and she doesn't even realize it.
I once had a guy who spent at least 5, maybe 10 minutes (i kinda tuned out pretty early), shouting at me and threatening to report me (just me the minion behide the register) to everyone. From my store manager to the district manager and all the way up to State and Federal Authorities because he didn't like the price we sold batteries for, and somehow, that was my personal responsibility. And he wasn't a boomer, I think he was Gen X. My favourite bits of the rant were the queue of people behind him giving him looks that ranged from "wft dude?" to "shut up and go away." In particular, his wife, who was giving him the look that said, "we are going to talk about this in the car, and it will not be pleasant for you." Of course, no one stepped in to stop his rant. There is a reason i no longer work retail.
LOL! I am currently working in a grocery store right now. - Sadly, there's no way a Gen X'er would ask for anything Avacado...that's a Millenial thing....but everything else is pretty spot-on, especially the line about "Go into the back and find that item or order it and have it delivered right now!" I get that one a lot.
Well at Starbucks, where I worked, Gen xs, especially moms, will insist on their particular nondairy substitute “milk” and be irate if it’s unavailable. I find that millennials will want the same thing but be more understanding. Gen X moms are also big on label reading and going “all natural” yet show up at a coffee chain
@@MrSuperpiff4 I worked in the dairy department for a while. GenX here. That avocado vegan mayo is definitely in my fridge, slightly past it's best by date, because I refuse to buy more for the outrageous price, when it's fine to use. I'm uber nice to all retail & service workers though, so it's only half right.
@@christinapotter227 As a Gen X'er myself, I should rephrase that statement I made earlier. Gen X does buy Avacado things, but I don't think we made it into a "Lifestyle" like the Millenials did, with "Avacado Toast" being a certified Millenial stereotype identifier.
The silent generation stuff resonates with me but I am enjoying the slow drip because their sudden zingers out of nowhere is also part of it. Gen Z is spot on too.

as far as these skits go: Silent gen gave birth to gen x who gave birth to genz, boomers gave birth to millenials... Who in turn gave birth to alpha. Tho I don't think the alpha character in these skits is the millenial's son...probably genx son too 💁🏿♂️
I have a funny experience in the grocery store you might want to use in one of your sketches. So a Silent Generation grandma was shopping in the store I work in with her Millennial grandson and they got to the produce section and the grandson was asking my manager if we had some exotic type of fruit or some such thing, but anyway, the Silent Generation grandma turned to me with a semi-confused look on her face and said in the sweetest tone "I'm from Toronto." and the grandson shot back in a split second at her and said "No one cares!" ..."Now about this exotic fruit..." That was the funniest thing and my manager and my self had to keep back the laughter. Maybe you could use that experience in your next "Generations at the grocery store" video.
😂😂😂 I work at a grocery store! All that is missing are little kids that go in practicing their social skills and coming out crying and terrified of their parents. (And having developed food anxiety) Had a boomer recording me with a go pro camera? What the actual fuck. Had to check his I.D. which was a conceal carry license of course.
As someone who works in retail, Gen X is worst kind of customer I always see. You tell them there's no stock and they will still push you around to go in the backstore to check and if you come back empty handed, they'll DEMAND the item to be ordered (in my store, we have no control over items that gets delivered). They will then ask for the store manager or anyone higher to and be told the same thing, and yet still INSIST to get what they want! Boomers are the same, but they mostly complain about the high prices as if we make it higher on purpose 😑
Gen X here. If it's a sale item, I just get a raincheck. This is probably due to working in a grocery store for a few years, which gives me some experience with stock levels. In short, if the shelf is empty, they probably don't have it in the back.
Have you actually met anyone from Gen X? It's an easy-going generation defined by being abandoned by their folks and therefor adaptable and resourceful. A Gen X'er wouldn't get bent out of shape over not being able to get a specific ingredient, and instead just apathetically making do with whatever is available. We're independent to a fault. What you've got here looks more like a happier version of a Boomer, which is the polar opposite of who Gen X is. We were the original critics of the Boomers, and the original doomers. And avocado vegan mayo? The whole avocado thing is a Millennial stereotype. And veganism didn't even exist in my youth, any one that didn't eat meat was just called a "vegetarian". I don't think I even heard the term "vegan" until the year 2000, and I was living in SF at the time. Even then it was rare. Veganism took off with Millennials, not X'ers. I feel like you had a single odd-ball encounter with a Gen X'er and now you've extrapolated it to an entire generation. I'm happy to except criticism of our very imperfect generation, but I'm not going to have other generation's baggage hung on us without some protest.
@@thejarrodbenson Only my friends, classmates, coworkers, many relatives, etc. etc. etc. Certainly more than you obviously do. I don't think he likes gen-x. I've never seen him do anything close to how a gen-xer would act. If you don't have what I need on the shelf, I'm going across the street to the store that does.
