Throw out the obsolete Electoral College vote count & do it the only far vote of Popular Vote.
The Electoral College exists to ensure fair representation for all states, not just the most populous ones. Without it, candidates would only focus on winning over big urban centers, leaving smaller states and rural areas without a voice. It forces campaigns to reach out to a broader and more diverse range of voters across the country. The system also prevents tyranny of the majority, where densely populated regions could completely dominate national decisions. The balance it provides is critical to maintaining the union of states and ensuring the perspectives of both smaller and larger populations are represented in presidential elections. Liberals like fair representations and diversity right?

Unlike Canada and many parts of the planet, each ballot contains many contests, not just president or congressional representative. Congressional districts are often spread over several counties. Preparation is not really an issue. Issues arise when a group challenges who or what initiative will be on the ballot and then the post election challenges using conspiracy theories.

Honestly the theory I've seen legal/poly sci academics is that Trump turned confidential informant back in Rudy's days taking on the mob since Trump & his Dad laundered money for the Gambinos. Also there was that fishy helicopter crash that killed Trump's casino execs just before any of them could testify about his using his casinos to launder money.

If you're worried the government might respond to another insurrection as slowly and inadequately as they did on Jan. 6th, 2021, then consider they've had almost 4 years to think about how to do better. In January 2025, it will be Joe Biden, with able support from president-elect Harris, and they won't be caught off guard.
Watch "Neal Brennan Has a Plan to Test the 2nd Amendment" for an idea of how MAGA's militia going up against the National Guard might turn out. Remember, in January 2021 Trump was in command of the situation.
