Interesting. Thanks. Funny how in Alaska, trapping starts at the beginning of winter and ends in the spring. The beaver I trapped were through holes I chipped through the ice. Sometimes 18-24” thick. Sometimes I would put a piece of styrofoam over the hole and cover it with snow. That way there was a lot less ice to chip through to check traps.
