@LecaroJ Hi. I have several 'fussy' people that are hard to gift. They don't want homemade, don't want store-bought, so I am donating their gift money to local animal rescue shelters or plant farms this year...🤞🏻.
I particularly like the first minute or so of this video!!! BUT if we have to make, these are GREAT suggestions! My MIL has made many scrap yarn baskets for gifts and we LOVE them! She made me a large one that stays in the trunk of my car to hold groceries/purchases. She made each of my kids a smaller one (maybe 12” in diameter) that they use for their toys or when we take road trips. They’re so useful and really pretty! Highly recommend for gifts!
Great ideas. I keep a little stack of items that I’ve made but don’t like the finished product or in the end doesn’t suit me. I give those to the people who don’t meet my make-worthy threshold. Have a great thanksgiving with your family 🍗
Thank you for this video. I love the idea of using scrap yarn to make baskets to give as gifts.❤. It will help me reduce my stash so I can purchase more yarn.😂
My first time seeing your vids. You are adorable, and I LOVED this. "I made this for you because I felt obligated" is an annual problem for many of us.
If people don’t appreciate a handmade gift, I give them a crochet kit. It allows me to spend my time on gifts for others, and the person receiving the kit could potentially appreciate the craft more.
I have seen a few of your video's before, I think. But this 1 is a favorite! I love your thoughts and ideas (I have made a lot of thinks I loved and loved making for my people at my husbands work and they were never seen again. So I am so here with you. So thank you so much for your help
I need to comment on the pot holders which run the risk of melting or flaming if they come into contact with electric burner or flame. My experience is from spinning, weaving, and dying various fibers, and I guarantee that wool is the one fiber that is safe. Synthetic fibers quickly melt and give off toxic gas, cotton catches fire, wool doesn’t. ❤️
This had me from the title! Your channel graced my youtube feed today and I really appreciated a good laugh. I am not someone who struggles through hand-making gifts for people I am obligated but not necessarily don't like but perhaps don't know well enough to know if they'd appreciate handmade. BUT all of your suggestions are great as gifts for people we love too. I've subscribed 💯 liked 👍and hit that bell 🔔 Anne❣au
Love your video and choices and am a new subscriber. There’s one person in my life who is a forever person, never can please even when said person drops hints…is then unhappy. 🙄 So I decided on a gift certificate, but maybe that will change now…😁 But I must comment for safety, that the pot holders need to be made with wool because other fibers will either melt, possibly on the user (synthetic fibers), or run the risk of catching fire and lifting up and away, with cotton. I speak from experience from working with fibers, spinning and weaving for several years. Anyway thanks for the great video! 💕
. While cotton will burn if it gets to hot or is exposed to a flame, I have cotton potholders I made 5-6 yrs ago. We use them almost daily. They are still going strong. If you are aware in your kitchen, and keep your pot holders away from burners, you should be ok. I have to many family members and friends allergic to wool to have it anywhere in my house.
I csnt imagiine making sonthing for someone I don't like but like someone mentioned it might be an obligation that you cant avojd..in that case Id just give a gift card😅
Why waste your time resources ect I don't buy or make anything for those who don't appreciate it or like it I'm an adult as are all of my family adults I stopped buying and making over ten years ago for any occasions I knitt for my self I sew for myself unless you're paying me to make or repair something and my diamond crystal arts is apart from card I do solely for me and those I know would appreciate them
Should have said on the title, “for people who you not like to make for.” Even in jest and times like they are, we don’t need to ever use the word “hate!”
Thank you for acknowledging that there are people out there who do not appreciate my work. Good advice.
I HAD to click on this vid when I read the title! OH MY! The comments did NOT disappoint! 😂🤣
That makes me so happy!
We don't HAVE to make something for people we don't like. I'm not going to waste my time and resources making something not appreciated.
Maybe there are social obligations
Even if you like someone, your handmade gift may not be liked or appreciated.

That is so smart! I may have to start doing that, too!
She said out loud what we all think sometimes 😂
Happy to do it!

I dont waste my crafting efforts, time or money for those who are not crochet worthy.
Same here .
Such a great boundary!

Isn't 100% cotton safe for potholders or hot pads?
@ no, it catches fire and flames up ⬆️ which could catch other things on fire as well.

Gift cards are a great option!
Maybe make a tag with a fake shop name and attach it to your homemade gift. Tell the recipient you didn't have time to make gifts this year. 😊
#6 don't make them anything.
Yes, absolutley!
Who’s watching this to find out which people who give you handmade gifts hate you?😂
