Introducing the Dillon Shawl: The Perfect Summer Vacation Crochet Pattern and One Skein Project!
Who’s watching this to find out which people who give you handmade gifts hate you?😂
Very on the mark and very funny. I just happened on this channel and the title got me hooked!
I cant watch this podcast because i dont hate anyone.
Lovely video lovely humour lovely ideas Just lovely!!!
Should have said on the title, “for people who you not like to make for.” Even in jest and times like they are, we don’t need to ever use the word “hate!”
TFS!! That laugh..lol
Came across your video this morning. I just subscribed and I’m still smiling. I think I’m going to enjoy your channel ☺️
Thank you for acknowledging that there are people out there who do not appreciate my work. Good advice.
This had me from the title! Your channel graced my youtube feed today and I really appreciated a good laugh. I am not someone who struggles through hand-making gifts for people I am obligated but not necessarily don't like but perhaps don't know well enough to know if they'd appreciate handmade. BUT all of your suggestions are great as gifts for people we love too. I've subscribed 💯 liked 👍and hit that bell 🔔 Anne❣au
Love your laugh!
Why make people you do not like anything at all?
I like how you laugh . I enjoy watching you !
Maybe make a tag with a fake shop name and attach it to your homemade gift. Tell the recipient you didn't have time to make gifts this year. 😊
This video made me laugh! Thank you!
I'm happy I could make you smile!
I just found you this morning I love your personality. I was laughing and I have to admit everything you said was so true. Been there done that.😍
I'm so glad you liked the video!
That’s an ugly cowl you have around your neck.
Why so nasty? Do you tell strangers on the street as well that you don't like something they are wearing? Get some manners you arrogant something.
Awesome!!thanks!!
You're welcome! I hope you enjoy making them!
Your smile and laugh ❤
Thanks!
You are adorable and easy to listen to
Awe, thanks! Glad you think so!
You are hilarious 😂😂😂. Love the ideas. Thank you
So glad you like them!
My first time here. Love the purple cowl (favorite color).
Thanks for watching! I love purple too!
I’m enjoying your videos. You make me smile. I clicked on this video because of the grey scarf you are holding on the thumbnail. But after watching your video and reading the transcript I couldn’t find anything about it. Will you provide the information please. I really like the shape of that scarf. Thank you. And have a nice holiday season.
Thanks so much for watching! That is my Dillon Shawl. Here's a link! www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/dillon-shawl-2
Half dbl cr is my favorite stitch.
Mine too!
Love your video and choices and am a new subscriber. There’s one person in my life who is a forever person, never can please even when said person drops hints…is then unhappy. 🙄 So I decided on a gift certificate, but maybe that will change now…😁 But I must comment for safety, that the pot holders need to be made with wool because other fibers will either melt, possibly on the user (synthetic fibers), or run the risk of catching fire and lifting up and away, with cotton. I speak from experience from working with fibers, spinning and weaving for several years. Anyway thanks for the great video! 💕
Thanks so much for watching and sharing your expertise!
Isn't 100% cotton safe for potholders or hot pads?
@ no, it catches fire and flames up ⬆️ which could catch other things on fire as well.
@@SEKHandmade you’re welcome!
. While cotton will burn if it gets to hot or is exposed to a flame, I have cotton potholders I made 5-6 yrs ago. We use them almost daily. They are still going strong. If you are aware in your kitchen, and keep your pot holders away from burners, you should be ok. I have to many family members and friends allergic to wool to have it anywhere in my house.
My first time seeing your vids. You are adorable, and I LOVED this. "I made this for you because I felt obligated" is an annual problem for many of us.
Thank you! It's nice to meet you! Unfortunately, it is.
#6 don't make them anything.
Yes, absolutley!
I love the basket.
Isn't it fun!?! I may need one for myself!
@ yes l really like it.
@@SEKHandmade do you ever sell them ?
@@SEKHandmade may I ask what size hook you used on it please?
@@louettesommers8594 no, I don't sell finished items anymore.
And the laugh😂!!! Love this so much!
And the laugh😂!!! Love this so much!
Thanks!
Oh my gosh!!!! Make this a yearly thing! I beg of you! I will need new gifts first my MIL for years to come😂
Ah, ha, ha! Absolutely!
I csnt imagiine making sonthing for someone I don't like but like someone mentioned it might be an obligation that you cant avojd..in that case Id just give a gift card😅
Gift cards are a great option!
😅😅I'm already laughing because of the title...and your laugh 😂😂Girl you're so much fun!
Yay! I'm so glad you enjoyed the video!
I just found your channel, and your chuckle has made my day! 😂
That makes me so happy!
I HAD to click on this vid when I read the title! OH MY! The comments did NOT disappoint! 😂🤣
That makes me so happy!
Love your cowl and your laugh
Thank you so much!
Omg! That evilish laugh got me! 😂 But brilliant ideas n reasons❣️🥰😛
I'm so glad you appreciate the humor! I hope these ideas spark something for you!
Great topic and suggestions. Thank you.
You're welcome! I hope you find them helpful!
Why waste your time resources ect I don't buy or make anything for those who don't appreciate it or like it I'm an adult as are all of my family adults I stopped buying and making over ten years ago for any occasions I knitt for my self I sew for myself unless you're paying me to make or repair something and my diamond crystal arts is apart from card I do solely for me and those I know would appreciate them
That's fantastic! Sounds like you get a lot of joy from your crafts!
If people don’t appreciate a handmade gift, I give them a crochet kit. It allows me to spend my time on gifts for others, and the person receiving the kit could potentially appreciate the craft more.
I like that idea!
I dont waste my crafting efforts, time or money for those who are not crochet worthy.
Same here .
Such a great boundary!
I have seen a few of your video's before, I think. But this 1 is a favorite! I love your thoughts and ideas (I have made a lot of thinks I loved and loved making for my people at my husbands work and they were never seen again. So I am so here with you. So thank you so much for your help
So glad you enjoyed the video! Happy holidays!
To save money you can double worsted weight to make bulky weight.
Great idea!
Not a crocheter, but these tips and tricks work for knitters, too. There are some great ideas here. Have a great Thanksgiving!!
Glad you like the tips! Happy Thanksgiving!
She said out loud what we all think sometimes 😂
Happy to do it!
@@SEKHandmade😂❤
Such great ideas! Thank you for addressing this awkward issue so graciously!
You're so welcome! I hope you have an amazing holiday season!
We don't HAVE to make something for people we don't like. I'm not going to waste my time and resources making something not appreciated.
Maybe there are social obligations
Even if you like someone, your handmade gift may not be liked or appreciated.
@@LecaroJi agree
@LecaroJ Hi. I have several 'fussy' people that are hard to gift. They don't want homemade, don't want store-bought, so I am donating their gift money to local animal rescue shelters or plant farms this year...🤞🏻.
@@sandrabuchan9202 excellent idea!
Great ideas. I keep a little stack of items that I’ve made but don’t like the finished product or in the end doesn’t suit me. I give those to the people who don’t meet my make-worthy threshold. Have a great thanksgiving with your family 🍗
👏🏻😂🤣
That is so smart! I may have to start doing that, too!
I particularly like the first minute or so of this video!!! BUT if we have to make, these are GREAT suggestions! My MIL has made many scrap yarn baskets for gifts and we LOVE them! She made me a large one that stays in the trunk of my car to hold groceries/purchases. She made each of my kids a smaller one (maybe 12” in diameter) that they use for their toys or when we take road trips. They’re so useful and really pretty! Highly recommend for gifts!
One for the trunk of your car is genius!
This was an awesome topic! And the suggestions were perfect.
So glad you enjoyed it!
I love that pot holder! 😍 So cute!
Right!?! I may need to give it a try. Sounds like a fun technique!
I need to comment on the pot holders which run the risk of melting or flaming if they come into contact with electric burner or flame. My experience is from spinning, weaving, and dying various fibers, and I guarantee that wool is the one fiber that is safe. Synthetic fibers quickly melt and give off toxic gas, cotton catches fire, wool doesn’t. ❤️
