Good analysis, but I think the most important question is that when FF9 is going to get a remake, will it be a remake or the 'REMAKE'? That's why the animated show/series, while great as an idea, sounds quite concerning, because basically they have two ways of approaching it: a) they will adaptate the entire story of the original game - and at this point a game remake would be kind of pointless; b) they make some sort of compiliational work like Crisis Core which probably will retcon some things and prepare the ground for the new kind of 'REMAKE'.
1) It will be a "Light Remake" - I Think there is a general consensus among lot of ppl that certain characters like Amarant, Quina and Freya had lot more potential backstory (Which I think can be explored via flashbacks for one). If the game would be split in 2 Parts, this would allow more meat to the bone in terms of lore. So yeah same story, but more dialogue and stuffing. I Also want extended ending. Idea of doing this super drastic remake like with FF7R, is gonna be very out of the question IMO. 2) I Think animated series will be quite identical with the actual game, unless my crazy theory of IX-2 will happen. Interesting question would rather be is, will the animated series be more flushed out with lore, story and flashbacks - or will be the game be more "Complete Experience", or do they supplement each other by having elements that other one don't.
@@SugiJRPG yea but even if it is real which I dont think it is.....I don't have any faith in square to remake the best game of all time look how bad they butchered the ff7 name with thier remake....or should I say a sequel lmao such trash
@@standingintherain6519 So how come 6 out of 9 reveals from Nvidia leak were real, how come this is not real? Secondly as stated in this video - There is no confirmation that square has any open devs teams to work on this title, meaning it might be outsourced. FF7R was decent outside the ending
Demake concept wouldn't be half bad considering some titles, Square might entertain it even if there was a window of possibility to launch it on Mobile as well. TO be clear u mean Octopath traveler II not I?
@@CWFL5 Octo2 has lot more detailed backgrounds and it feels more 2.5D like than first game does. I haven't played neither one, but I'm thinking of getting the demo for switch now. Games like World Of Final Fantasy didn't take million years to make, if you go simple lowpoly designs and worldmap/areas that are filmed from 1 dimension, you're fundamentally gonna have less workload. Look at how frequent releases of KH had en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kingdom_Hearts This is due to many of them probably using very same engine and re-used assets.

I figured a demake is easier than similar to the 7 remake and take 10 years and 8 games to complete.
