Why do we find beauty in sadness?
Kinna K Well, that's actually a quite good question. There a lot of possible answers to that; to begin with, we do not find all kind of sadness beautiful. People in concentration camps, people dying because they don't have enough to eat, people being "bad" because of their sadness... But there are othet that we actually found endearing and beautiful. In some levels, it probably comes from the fact that pain is seen as something that dignifies (that's correct in English?) human beings. In a lot of religions, pain is the only way to approach God. Also, beauty. There's a sentence that we say in Spanish: "Si quieres lucir, has de sufrir" or something like that, wich means that, if you want to look good, you have to go trough a lot of pain (I guess that metaphorical sense is also applied here). So, those are a few explanations.
I think that it has to do with feelings, too. When people are sad, they are often vulnerable, and, in some level, we see vulnerability as something "beautiful", as something fragile (for example a baby or a puppy) and we want to take care of them. That's another reason. But, as you probably know, not all people fnd this stuff beautiful. If they don't, poblably they would feel even disgust toward sadness.
Also, pain... humanices? That's even a thing? You know, it makes you more human. Happiness is not relatable (when you feel related with something?) for everyone, because happiness is something that we experience in a lot of different ways. Sadness, on the other hand, is something more... Raw, primal (okay, I have no idea if that word makes any sense to you). We have all felt sadness. Fear. At some level, even depression. Those are easy feelings to understand (more or less, not in 100% of the cases), so we find them beautiful because we get a sense of... Familiarity? So, yeah, I guess that's one more.
But you know, there are a lot of possible explanations, probably all of them correct The human brain is such a complex thing.

The truth is.. after you've been hurt, you will never be the same again. You can laugh or enjoy so much at any time, but you are not sincere with the positivity you feel, and eventually you ask yourself "why do I think I'm happy when I'm so broken?"

@@-drakrats- I've lived through it I try to smile even though I can no longer feel anxiety anymore because I used to have it 24/7 it was hell and I guess my body has just grown so used to that feeling that it numbed it self completely

I spent so much of my life trapped in mostly bad feelings, so I very much sympathize with anyone who struggles with depression and/or anxiety. In the past couple years I've just slowly gotten to a place of always feeling solid. Always feeling at the least extremely capable of dealing with whatever hardship life wants to throw at me. Quote whatever internet meme you want I just don't allow myself to get entangled into that web of negative thinking which always results in feeling bad all around as a result. I feel for those who still feel "lost". Stay strong and never stop self reflecting to focus on what you can change internally. Fight hard to avoid the urges to blame any outside source for your unhappiness because ultimately how you feel isn't anyone else's fault and only you have the power to change it.

You’d think one day you’d get over it all, everything that’s ever happened to make you feel broken but tbh you never really do.
