One conclusion I've come to from watching these vids, is that these are some really crappy pilots. Learn how to fly better before you start flying around people. You mess up and someone gets hurt. Secondly, there are certain lines that should not be crossed, flying over people on a beach is one thing, but in the case of that female sunbather, he was outright harassing her, that's the sort of thing that keeps the word drone as being a negative thing. He's giving drones a bad name, and not doing other enthusiasts any favors with this sort of behavior. As a drone pilot, like it or not, you are an ambassador of the hobby. You need to understand that sometimes you need to know when to cool it rather than taking things too far and crossing lines. It's honestly people like him that make the general public so aggressively anti drone. I fly in public parks often, I never have negative interactions with the general public, I often get many people asking me all about the hobby and where they can get into it, if anything I turn more people on to it because I use a little common sense when flying and practice good etiquette. I love this hobby, and just hate seeing inexperienced or immature pilots going out of their way to ruin it for the rest of us. Bottom line, don't fly like a dickhead, you give the rest of us a bad name and a bad image.

Wait... at 3:40 did he ACTUALLY just threaten to dox the drone operator? Did he REALLY just say he would ensure everyone knows where the guy lives? Oh bravo, sir, bravo. Now... if this WERE a proper licensed naturist beach, then I would be adamantly opposed to the drone being flown there because at that point it IS private property and WOULD have signs specifically banning cameras etc... but from what it looks like it was just a local public beach area where a few people HAPPENED to be nude. As evidenced by the conversation about it being illegal. Otherwise? Nah, it's just a case of being nicer to people. Both sides seemed to come off a little terse at points, but following someone to their vehicle while repeatedly demanding they give you their property (the memory card) etc (which btw is arguably him making multiple strongarm robbery attempts, especially since HE DID have a dog he may potentially have trained to attack on command - we dont' know) and then threatening to dox the videographer? Yeah... whether the nudity was legal or not, THOSE actions weren't. At least you don't have to worry about him objecting to it being posted on youtube after he said that, lol!
He censored the vids before he posted them, so that covers the legality of putting them here, and it appears from the dialogue that he likely posted it BECAUSE of this incident. Otherwise yeah, depending on where it was and when it was he may have broken laws when the video was taken or he may not have. You go to a beach NOW and fly anywhere NEAR that close to people and yes, it's probably illegal. Moral or not, it's the law. But the offended man in this video? He specifically tells the drone operator TO put the video on YT and then states he will reveal the operator's address to everyone. That he will make sure "everyone will know where you live". That is illegal. It's called DOXing. (Slang, try dictionary.com or similar if you would like it clarified further.) I never stated that I was a lawyer or that this was legal advice or binding in any way. I simply read about it myself as an informed person, was curious about the legality (which is how I found out that the laws regarding how close to a beach you can fly were only begun recently and only in certain locations, as there is not yet a federal or state level law regarding such, as it is done by cities or counties) so I researched it, read, then posted according to my findings. I could provide reputable sources if you like. (For example the FAA site for the drone beach laws along with articles in...oh, pick your paper. LA Times, NY Post, NY Times, Forbes, several legal firm websites, etc. all with directly verifiable references to the specific laws in question.)

@@colinsmith6263 to be fair, if it isn't a nude beach then generally recording in public pictures is legal, and she was breaking the law.....recording a crime in progress.....if it was a legal nude Beach then usually private property with no recording rules posted. In which case he (edit or she) was violating privacy rights and breaking the law.

+RJ Dunn I encourage everyone with an opinion to post their feelings on the comments section. There are very few hubs about drones where people with different views can openly debate and vent their emotions so I feel it is doing more good than harm :) what I have noticed though is that some anti droners do secretly enjoy these videos too lol

Aidan Reed I hve an Xcelsior drone from Silverlit and im kind of a beginner but i do know that dji drones stay in the air and the one i have cannot do that. having a dji Phantom 3 professinal is what im looking for because i want those good photos and video shots. im not a fan of cameras but where i live in Sweden you can get real good photos depends on what time it is. Fishing? perfect, mydad has a boat and flying the drone and the same time at a good weather is great.

the first clip, the pilot certainly seemed to be flying at far too low a altitude for going over a crowd.
as for "privacy", depending on your country, it is a public place, there is no expectation of privacy in public.
However individual beach's may have rules on photography.
Several factors apply, but in several of these videos the biggest offence is improper operation of the drone by the looks of it.
