- President-elect Joe Biden introduced retired Army General Lloyd Austin, his nominee to lead the Department of Defense, at a press event in Wilmington, Delaware. Austin spoke about the challenges ahead as he prepares to return to the Pentagon, and said, "If confirmed, it will be the honor of my lifetime to lead them again with honor and integrity."
