Another vote for getting a Canadian library card. The local library’s Libby and Hoopla apps probably have most of these if you want ebook/audiobooks. I relisten to Murderbot on Hoopla regularly! Murderbot and Singing Hills Cycle would be quick to get through so super satisfying!

You’re sitting on book one of one of my favorite series, so I have to put my vote in for Temeraire! While it’s a 9 books series, you can definitely view it as having two main arcs with the first one coming to a satisfying stopping point after book 5. Man do I love those books with a passion

Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn, obviously. The best fantasy trilogy of the last forty years.
And a secondary vote for Butler's Xenogenesis. With the note that if you've forgotten what it's about, even better, because the protagonist doesn't really know what's going on for the first few chapters, so you get to figure out what's going on with her.

    • @OverlyAverageBen

These are a lot of series! A lot of them are on my TBR as well. I am very impatiently waiting for my hold of The Adventures of Amina El-Sirafi to come in, so i'm gonna vote for you to read that one next. That way i can vicariously live through you whilst i'm waiting 😞

Oooh choices!! I obviously want you to read The Mask of Mirrors, and I will just use the excuse that it will make Grace very happy so there's that. Dandelion is my other top pick, I just know in my bones that you will love that series 🤩
Other ones that are favourites of mine and I could see you enjoying are Tide Child, Locked Tomb, Singing Hills (audio is great), Chorus of Dragons, Lady Trent (also great on audio), and Legends of the First Empire for some good ol' epic fantasy that isn't 20000 pages long. And I would actively not recommend Serpent & Dove and Amina... Happy reading ;)))

@@OverlyAverageBen There’s something about it that’s refreshingly simple. Took me back to being a kid and just enjoying a fun adventure story, it’s not packed with politics or vast sub plots, just a point A to point B journey with some diversions along the way. Fun fun fun. If you after something with more meat on its bones I’d skip it…but if you’re after palette cleanser…it’s a must.
