Growing distant from the fiasco of Season 8 meant a lot of people thought D&D were screwed by the lack of books, but when you take a step back you realize a lot of the problems came from D&D themselves.
they didn't hire enough good writers, didn't elevate someone to be show runner when they didn't want to run the show anymore, they didn't listen to anyone who went against them, etc, etc
Its still unbelievable that those 2 idiots got the power to end the show with them. The first 8 years of the Simpsons had different showrunner(s) after 2 years. HBO gave them a ridiculous contract if they couldn't have someone else take over to keep the show going

D&D: I mean what the hell even is this plot.....
I’m sorry but I’m still traumatized by season 8 and angry about how cynically it was written. They intentionally made it so that any obvious character arc didn’t happen and didn’t want any fan theories to come true because they were big headed and thought they were George, choosing to subvert every possible expectation in the worst way possible. To me, after you make something as awful as season 8 and give the finger to the fans like they did, you don’t deserve a successful career or a second chance. I will never watch this. I feel like I’m forgiving them by watching and I will NEVER forgive. 😂
I really hope this finishes their careers. Yes they will retire rich but I hope we never see them again
Embarrassing how a lower budget animated UA-cam show like “Amazing Digital Circus” made more of a cultural impact compared to a high budget series from a streaming service juggernaut.

I enjoyed S1 of 3BP , not amazing or a cultural phenomenon but after starting a bit slow and clumsy it found its footing a few episodes in. I found it very watchable and even eventually enjoyable. Not sure it lived up to its big budget but overall i'd say D&D did a fairly good job adapting quite difficult to adapt material ; and the viewership numbers might not have been mind blowing but didn't seem terrible either. Plus i mean if the main concern is not living up to budget your channel should have focused on TRoP much more , not sure you covered it much at all actually. What an absolute mess and disaster critically and especially financially and beyond. TRoP episode budgets typically 60 / 70 million dollars each and higher in some cases (believe some episodes cost even around 100 million each) and associated costs with obtaining rights , production etc surely over a billion dollars spent already for everything including just S1's costs.
I watched 3bp it started strong then the last half fell flat, i was shocked at how they chose to end it so abruptly but yeah it was good though it didn't feel like a high budged TV

Honestly, I think this one most likely is on netflix. They possibly were expecting a banger since D&D directed Game of Thrones, so in classic netflix fashion, if something doesnt bring good enough numbers, they just cancel it or end it, which sucks because 3 body problem is an actually good book that will have a mediocre adaptation, just like the witcher

Definitely not worth wasting more time on this. It isn't even the level of failure that's worth inspect, it's just a bit of a fizzle, not a massive bomb. It's a mediocrity. It might be the worst thing they could have hoped for. At least terrible would get attention; this just generated tepid indifference.
If it was really bad, their knee-jerk defenders would feel attacked and triggered and try to push how great it is. This inspires no love or loyalty, not even hate.

I think the various actors have moved on and won't bother stir up some drama about those 2 idiots. HBO just want to leave the shitshow under a rock and just continue with the success of House of the Dragon and various new series, at best address it if they want to redo the show.
