@@ToolsElectroDIY does anker fast charger works on s10 plus?

Thank you for the testing. The test proves my assumption: it is the device which controls the charging power instead of the charger itself. The charger make sure it can output as much power as it can, but the device deside how much power to use.

Mine just arrived and I'm super impressed! I travel every week with three USB-C -devices and this takes so much bulk out of my backpack by replacing my two bigger chargers. Additionally, I recommend buying the Anker Powerline III Flow cable with this. I didn't think a freaking cable would be exciting but it's the best damn charging cable I've ever had! Great video. This is exactly what I wanted to know.
Glad it was helpful!
That's not how it works. The charger doesn't throttle. The charger can only provide what the device asks for. So as long as the charger can provide enough power, you're good. This means a 65W charger can provide up to 65W of power.
A tablet that asks for 30W will only pull 30W. All that means is the charger isn't stressing out (only using 50% of it's "strength").
This also means you should NOT use a 30W charger on a 65W device! The device will pull as much as it can, but the charger won't be able to handle it. The charger will overstress and burn out.
Most GOOD chargers will "burn out" a fuse or trip a safety (like a fuse that will reset after it cools off). If you draw too much power you won't start a fire, but your device won't charge or operate either.
With the advancements in USB charging specifically, there's a lot of communication between the charger and device today. This is also why USB charging can provide multiple voltage levels (5v, 9v, 15v, 20v).
Before USB (example: barrel plugs), there isn't all these smart stuff. You absolutely need a power supply to provide the EXACT voltage the device needs, but the current (in milli-amps - mA or amps - A) needs to be the same or higher than what the device asks for.
Oh, and power (in watts) is Voltage multiplied by Current (in amps).
Power (in W) = Voltage (in V) x Current (in A).
Watts, Volts, and Amps are measurements (example, like in meters, feet, liters, gallons, etc). They are to measure Power (Watts), Voltage (Volts), and Current (Amps).

Haha, this review totally changed my perception I had on fast chargers. I thought it was gonna be about the fast chargers actually charging at their highest wattage and you telling us if that is good or bad for the battery of that device. But no, hahaha, in actuality we just learned that our devices have a cap to how much wattage they charge at. THANK YOU for this.

This is a great information and very nice content very straightforward, I appreciate all the work you put in this video? Thanks, very informative. I was just in the process of replacing my 5w charger and now I will buy the 65W charger and know that it will throttle the output based on the device being charged.
Yes and be future proof so you can charge your laptop with this one charger too.
I have that Anker Nano II charger and it is freakishly small. Super convenient for travel or when you don’t have much room around your power outlet. It’s enough to power everything (laptop, iPad, phone…), if you’re happy to use battery power most of the time and only charge one device most of the time, you can be fine with that as your only charger in your bag!
Thanks for sharing your experience, see my recent 67W and 100W review too. smaller, more ports. ua-cam.com/video/GpCwkQQeECg/v-deo.htmlsi=wIUy9FPfmMs1JtiG

Fantastic video!!! Very helpful and to the point. I wonder if it will work for my LG Gram 16 2 in 1 that I bought at my local Costco back in 2022. I have the Intel Evo i7 model.
If your laptop supports USB type C port charging, then it will definitely work

Finally found what ive been looking for. In TECHNICAL perspective
I’m glad it was helpful
I really like Anker kit, but surely a better way to verify this is to sniff the PD connection?
For me the 45w looks like the sweet spot of these. Half the weight of the 65w one, and with enough power output for all of my portable devices, Surface Book 3, MacBook Air M1, and various phones and tablets.
Yes I have a type-c usb meter. But the display is not as big as the kill-a-watt. The number displayed on the usb meter will be smaller obviously(conversion loss). Yes I agree amzn.to/3C8qXIZ looks better but I do have other devices (e.g. a power bank) that require 60W input so 65W works great for me!
Do you know is the Anker Nano II 45W safe to use for surface pro 7 plus ?
Interesting. Very good to know. 👍🏼
Thanks for watching!
Well done Sir. Helpful review. Good to know.
Glad it was helpful!
Technically, high power PD chargers provide 5v by default. If a device asks (negotiates) for a higher voltage (say 9v or 15v all the way up to 20v), the charger will supply just that voltage. As for the current, the device will pull whatever it needs so no need to worry if your charger supports high amperage (you can even use a 1000A charger provided that the voltage output is the same as what your device needs). I have the Nano II 65w charger and I use it to charge my laptop, my phone, my galaxy buds and my pocket wifi. So you'll be safe to use that charger with whatever USB-C device you have
Thanks for the detailed info Samuel!
Do devices gets hot since you input the max watts ? Thanks
this is why I wish iPhones have usb c so I can use this one port for all my devices. everything I have is usb c but my phone its so frustrating
Umm now I want to buy a charger for my iPhone 11 pro and apple watch se and upgrading to iPhone 13 pro max and might macbook air m2 in 2024 so which charger shall I get? Anker nano pro 20w, anker nano 3 or any other?
@GamerAgentYT get the highest power output one
I love that durability test 3:07
why is it a durability test?
@@ToolsElectroDIY you drop it right
Thanks for the demo...I asked this question to the charger supplier if I can use its 45W laptop charger for my Samsung fast charging phone A53 (25W). The response was that they do not recommend to do so...no explanation offered, though. I think they do not want to get into lawsuits just in case something may go wrong during charging.
That's right. I'm glad it's helpful.
Thank you so much for these comparisons! So it turns out that GaN is barely any more efficient than Silicon... I read that it wastes twice less power to heat, I guess all of this was a lie... It's main advantage is just being smaller.
You are welcome!
Hello, Good Idea. Smart I am impressed. 👍👊❤️❤️❤️❤️👏👏👏👏

@@ToolsElectroDIY wait, I thought I already did :)
how come you can have a 120 watts charger for your phone, assuming it's usb, the limit is 100 watts, something is wrong here...
@ it probably has more than one port. IE, it might support one 100w plus a 20w at the same time but can't go over 100w even if it's only one device. Though tbh I'd only heard of USB going to 65w so it's possible the limit has gone up to 100w out of my awareness and then above that out of both our awarenesses!
Very informative and gave me more in-depth understanding with confidence I needed

Question, does all Android have an input limit as well? Or just Samsung S series per se?
All modern USB devices have that limit. The charging speed is determined by your device, not the charger. Smash the LIKE and SUB :)
Hi, do you have any graph for entire charging comparing all these power bricks? Thanks.
No, I don't have the charging graph.
This channel is so underrated
Thanks for your support!
Curious to see how the chargers would cope with being stressed such as the Mac being under heavy load, such as running benchmarks. Maybe the small Anker would throttle down with heat. The Apple & 65w Anker chargers also dont do PFC so the draw more current oddly compared to the 120w Anker chargers. Which is crazy.
Yes it can handle 65W constant draw.
You gotta take into account also the wire may not support that much wattage being poured into because i had the oneplus 9 phone and i looked up the amps to the charger wire it did make a difference alittle on the type of copper wire used inside the product. But love the video
If you are interested in high gauge quality USB-C cables that can pass through 100W of power, I made a different video on this topic ua-cam.com/video/JmXmJDUM66I/v-deo.html
I have the white Anker charger and I was asking myself this exact question if it's worth the upgrade to the Nano 65W. Glad to know I'm ok for the time being. Thanks!
Good choice!
Thanks! Now I can plug in my vape to my 65W charger without worrying
Glad I could help
Will you do a review on the Soundcore Life Q35?
A simple one maybe. Because it is pretty much the same as Q30. Unless you have Sony mobile phones.
This is informative. How about the other way around. Is it also safe to use adaptor with lower wattage than what the device’s demand? Let say 25watts charger to be used to laptop that requires 65watts input.
Yes, it is also safe the other way around. The low power charger will just work at full maximum allowed capacity
Thanks for the video man! Just a question, will a higher watt charger (65w) heats my phone more than the 30w charger?
No it won't. Please watch this one ua-cam.com/users/shorts39YMbajAKkQ?feature=share
Thanks! I was debating whether to get the Anker Nano 2 65w or Nano 3 30w. I will now get the 65w so I can still use it on my macbook. Thanks again! :)
I have a Galaxy Note 10 plus, Galaxy Books S, Galaxy Tab S7 Plus. I need to know how to keep them all charged in my car traveling and off grid. I'm disabled and have some crazy health problems. I'm gonna travel Oregon and go to school online. I also may start a UA-cam channel. If I do that I need to know how to charge my Alvoxcon mic on the go too (I'm guessing my old school battery pack for outdated phones will do that just fine).

Do you make a test for higher output devices like mi11 ultra? Will it get max 65w? Or it depends on the brand of the phone to get that required fast charging protocol active?
I don't have mi11 ultra. The charging speed is determined by the phone, even if the charger can provide higher output.
