Well seeing as I was in Canada visiting family I thought it would be a great time to make them this "Baho pero Masarap/Lami" Filipino treat! My dad went out fishing and so I took over the kitchen and started making different kinds of dried fish!
My mom wasn't very impressed when the house started to get Super Baho…. and you can see on the video she went window to window trying to get rid of the horrendous stench! Mao na Diha! Yikes!
This was my first time ever making Dried Fish, Hot Chocolate… oh and I put together some Bagoong and Mango!! My brother and father were the only two daring enough to give them a try! To be honest I am rather impressed… They really liked it!

Canadians should discover that even if the plane fare tom the P.I.. (Philippine Islands), is around $1000 nton $1500 Cdn everything else is cheap. Hotel Accommodations, transportation services, food and mostly available in western style so Canadians won't feel so foreign in our very- indo-pacific culture. PS- avoid the dangerous areas in the southern tip of the islands.

Thailand is the same and maybe other countries as well, if your perspective are focus on all the negative stuffs... pretend to be your friend and borrow money everyday, crab mentality, treat white men like walking atm machines, food sucks, polluted and dangerous... its all about finding the best in ones country and personally appreciating the best sides of it. Previously reading you comments, its either you are so bitter in life, youve been treated unfairly in the Philippines or you just prefer Thailand that much

Well, that's your experience and I pity you with that but you can't down a whole country and culture just because you get screwed up by the a tiny fraction of it's people.
As far as my country's history is concerned we got screwed up by your country 72 years ago but I don't dwell on that. I look to the present and the future and work things up for the good.

Your mum was so right to open the windows. It was a great idea! I open all the windows and have scented candles everytime I cook any fish in my house. Seafood is very tasty but the smell can stay longer inside your house if you don't get some air in... Your family are so nice, adventurous and fun. Well done Kulas!!!

Just can’t believe u left ur good and comfortable life back home just to explore Philippines and eventually be ur second home which is far from being comfortable. One day I bought Bulad and cook it in our house and my dad's reaction was the same as your mom by opening all the windows during winter...lol..:-) He like pancit, Arozcaldo, Letson manok at baboy, sinigang na manok at adobo but most he can eat all the ginisang sitaw at giniling na karne with out rice. I love your background music too, I do understand Vizayan language also.

your suppose to fry the dried fish outside,I am glad your Mom is so understanding.the smell will stick on your curtain,couch and wall all over the house...I live here in Greenville,South,Carolina,USA and we fry our dried fish and fresh fish outside.Boil a coffee on your stove to get the smell out..

Paul Perez. .. you are right, making strong coffee and letting it simmer for awhile gets stinky odors in the house almost immediately.
