I swear, the more I hear of the Nemesis Lore, the more im reminded of The Darkness from Destiny. Guess it doesnt help that Sylens and Zavala are voice by the great Lance Reddick.
There are A LOT of similarities with Destiny. Even similar designs and armor can be found. In my mind, I played the game as if this was an alternate universe where SIVA got out of control and destroyed everything lol
Something I don't think people are realizing is there is a HUGE chance NOVA was actually Vast Silver. When we "killed" her we didn't do anything but free her from Walters control. She said she had been under his control for over 1000 years which lines up with her actually being Vast Silver. If this is true we now freed vast Silver which could go two ways.. either she could help team up with Aloy right away or become another enemy until we are able to take her down at which point we would likely be able to use her in our fight against Nemesis. My guess is she will help us without putting up much of a fight but that remains to be seen. I would be very surprised if I am wrong about my theory but I think we are going to need several other AI's that willingly help us in our fight against Nemesis in order to take it down. For this reason I don't think we have seen the last of CYAN from the Frozen Wilds, Hephaestus and we may even find out about one or two other AIs we haven't yet heard of. I believe we will be able to get them all to eventually help us before the final battle against Nemesis. If anyone has other theories or ideas of what is to come in the 3rd game and the MMORPG feel free to share.

I think that the burning shores dlc succeeded in chiseling out the antagonist way better than the base game did, even if londra was a bit of a moustache twirling villain.
I would love the ending for horizon 3 to be 1000+ years into the future after Aloy defeats Nemesis (because of course she will) wherein they will be the ones referred to as the "Old Ones" and Aloy is held in high regard as they did Elisabet.
Aloy! I was completely blown away by the DLC. I always had a feeling that they would put a romance option in there somewhere, I always liked the idea of her and Petra but Seyka is just a perfect partner for her and I cannot wait for the 3rd game! Still, seeing Sylens again after Lance Reddicks passing is so sad

I was always under the impression that her and Erend would develop a relationship. They're very ying and yang and share deep history. Also it's pretty obvious he is into her.
She's with erand , they show it when zo and her bf walk off aloy and erand share a "we should too" look and sneak off , its obvious they are together they just keep it to themselves because you know aloy being a cold bish.. I uh I mean strong independent woman.. yeah thats what I ment

I have a issue with is what nemesis will do once it arrives to earth as all the zeniths are now dead what will nemesis do will it stick to its mission of destroying earth to deny the zeniths a home even tho they are all dead or will it become a friend to aloy once it discovers she killed off all the zeniths

It feels rushed because back in Meridian she denied Sun-King Avad due to her "higher perspective/purpose" than just being in love and have no room for it. Yes, we’re done with the Zeniths but not Nemesis. So, how can she suddenly change because their time together wasn’t at all that different compared to others aside from Seika.

I think grand finale will be that... Gaia will use Faro machines against Nemesis. Seems like only logical solution. And whatever force Nemesis sent will be annihilated by sheer numbers, while Aloy somehow tries to disable ship Nemesis came in. Obviously Nemesis will likely be back more advanced with more numbers like 200-300 years later.
I picked the brain "I'm not ready for this right now" it's the more characters like thing to go with it's more canonical the "heart" is just for fan service and doesn't make logical sense love is just a distraction and Aloy is way too important to let herself get distracted with attachments that early on especially when they killed off the potential love interest in the base game

To be honest it would be a much better choice to don't make her fall in any romantic relationship at all. It just doesn't make sense that she rejected all of her love interest through both games because she's on a big, like really big mission but in this DLC is suddenly okay. For me Aloy is a hero that doesn't have time for romantic relationship. Her chase will never end. New AI to discover. New machines. She's really an explorer. Never bound to one place. Strong, female character that doesn't need any LGBT propaganda.

Interesting. I had kinda started to wonder before if Aloy was meant to be ace and how it would be a neat change and good representation to have a protagonist that has no love interest. However that kiss was still extremely cute and heart warming. I have to say though, I hate Seyka's hair. If this is gonna be the love interest for the series going forward, can she get a hair cut? Or at least change from that awful ponytail with the way too big metal fastening? She's very pretty, but that hair is too busy, it distracts from her face.
That is the good thing with choices, we can all chose what we personally prefer. I personally prefer Erend, he's so cute I can't even 😍. But I'm glad they give options to others who prefer differently. 😊

All that choice means is if you think Aloy is ready at that moment. As Ben said, all you are choosing if it’s the right moment to kiss Seyka or not. But the feelings for her remain, no matter the choice. Sorry to burst your bubble here, but you don’t get to choose what you personally prefer, Aloy made her choice. She wants Seyka. The game is just asking you to empathize with her and her journey and choose accordingly, like the rest of the flashpoints, like John Gonzalez said the mechanic was designed to do in the first place.

Next Horizon Game? Not interested unless it's Forza Horizon... Zero Dawn was awesome, Forbidden West also awesome in terms of sound, world, graphics, story but gameplay is dogshit, fetch that or kill that, unresponsive diving, mediocre climbing, mediocre mount controls and dogshit combat system, mostly because 80% of the combat becomes overcrowded really fast and you simply get knocked down in a row many times by spam attacks from every side oh and also you barely do any damage even on "Normal" difficulty and even with a Legendary Sharpshot bow, the only reasonable option is Boltblaster but before you can reload that shit you get knocked down like 4 times in a row without a chance to do anything.
Its sad that this game had so much potential that was just wasted on a mediocre copy paste rpg. It comes so close to being great but then some gameplay element or stupid story decision brings it down , really sad
The romance was so horribly written in Burning Shores, and it didn't give me the option to say. "Sorry, not interested. I just want to be friends." If it just gave me that option, it would have been fine. It seriously felt like it was just thrown in for American political reasons and ruined the story for me. For example, The Last Us 2 is a great example of a lesbian romance that was well-written and not political. Maybe, it's because I have personally had that same situation happen to me twice in the last year or so, and I really don't like it. I'm bi and two of my best friends (one is gay and one is trans) and they both started wanting a romantic relationship, which I don't want right now, and it has ruined the great friendship we once had. Then, I'm playing the best game on the planet, Horizon series, and the same thing happens out of nowhere at the end of Burning shores. It ruined it for me, and I wish I had not played the DLC at all.
Everyone complaining about the gay agenda. Dude, it was OBVIOUS for the entire second game, every single male character was turned into a puppy to trash around or a psycopath villain. The original story writter left the game in the middle of the development of the second game. The hints were there its not like it catch you by surprise or anything. The first game was actually well written, with very few loose ends and a compelling new society and world setting built from the remanents of civilization. The second game is a MESS which dismiss key elements of the world building, human repopulation, reconstruction of civilization, redescovery of our roots, and many other things that made the first game so unique. The burning shores is just the last nail in the coffing, you've got an hours awakening, that has all this new biomass growth to feed on and keep going for centuries to wipe civilization again, the only thing that stopped machines in the first place is that they ran out of fuel (biomass), they suceeded on killing everything and everyone. And after the plot needs it to freeze in place it just freezes in place, because potato, because aloy needs to mingle. One of the best games out there gameplay-wise, one of the biggest let downs story-wise. All of the "old-ones" plot has the writting quality of a 1 season fire and forget netflix show.
I agree with this take. Technically a brilliant game but the writing quality noticeable lower in HFW and the levels of cheese and creeping woke agenda, misandry and Mary-Sueism seem to have been increased. In 2023 I just wish this whole woke thing would be a thing of the past but clearly it isn't. Maybe it'll take Disney to collapse to shock these other media companies into just going back to good old fashioned story telling without the constant 'message' being forced down our throats.
The Horus reactivates because of Walter, whom only does so to kill Aloy and Sekya. Walter was learning to control it on the fly. It was not its own independent AI like it was during the Faro plague. It freezes because of two factors. 1. Walter was the one controlling it. 2. You destroy its power core to kill Walter. After Walter dies, it deactivates because it was just a machine that was being piloted by a human. Even with biomass conversion, nothing is going to keep it going when its power core is destroyed. I mean does your car turn on if you remove the car battery?

@@neruba2173 I feel like you are missing key important details. We only manage to destroy the power core from the inside. And breaching the Horus was no small task. The other factor is that there were thousands upon thousands of Horus units by the end of the time of the old ones. Taking one down, even in a heavily nerfed state (over heating, thousand years of environmental decay and piloted by a human) took a whole mission to do. If that is how much effort it took to take one down, ain't no way anyone would've been able to take on the full might of the swarm while it is controlled by itself and not by humans.
@@jordanread5829 Well to me you are missing another key point. In one scenario you have a girl with a bow and explosive arrows. In the other you have the top military might and all its branches (spec ops, intel, tech warfare, air force...), and equipment (AP ammunition, ICBM's) of a fully developed civilization. And the whole point of the first game it s to give you this idea that there was no hope, all that was thrown at them was almost useless. Its written that to take down one horus, the one we see and explore in the first game for example, took months of preparation and a (not dsiclosed) unbearable amount of lives and resources. Aloy killing the horus makes for a cool marvel cinematic moment, and it also kills in the process all immersion and world building up to that point. If only the human civilization had known about the power cores huh?
HZD was amazing. Started Forbidden West and found it boring. Watched a summary and my fears were confirmed. The whole thing devolved to super humans being the villains, with yet another AI coming to destroy Earth. The DLC summary sounded ok, but only just ok. The romance was unnecessary. I don’t care if she’s queer or not, but fail to get why does it matter. Calling it character development is disingenuous.
The amount of hate this dlc got for her being gay is so frustrating. I got those vibes from her in the first game. I assumed she was either gay, or asexual. Representation of all types of people in media is important and a positive thing, but companies aren't doing it because they are altruistic, they do it because it gets them free advertising and new customers. Yep. If ALOY returns to Rost's grave in the first game a few times, she thinks out loud, and she expresses hetero feelings for Varl, which trolls such as Kay like to ignore. You can also pick the soft options for Avad in both games, where she shows interest in him as well

So Aloy destroys a Horis (One of the unstoppable world destroyers) by destroying its heat sinks, yet the advanced humans who built / fought them with much more advanced weapons couldn't think of this tactic? The Zenith shouldn't have been used again so soon and he was defeated so easily. The story is weak imo. I Guess I will be skipping this DLC. It seems like the this saga has reached its peak in Forbidden West and is now decending its mountain of glory. I'm skeptical for what p3 will offer in terms of story.
Also it was manually being piloted by a human without its full capabilites rather then just piloting itself. If it was driving itself it would have just grabbed Aloy and killed her

Zero Dawn is amazing with the Frozen Wilds, and Forbbiden West is amazing. The only thing I like about Burning Shores is the map , the waterwings, zenith weapon, and a bit of Horus fight. Rest is below mediocre close to garbage. The fact that they added romance in it and Seyka is flat as f#^k and no option for the player is garbage. I finished this DLC for the achievements only. I give Burning Shore a 2 from 10 for character and dialogues. 10 from 10 for the environment/map/machine, ect. Overall, I'm disappointed by it.
The fact that the absence of Sylens can be explained in the lore makes his last words even more touching considering real life factors.

It just doesn't make sense that she rejected all of her love interest through both games because she's on a big, like really big mission but in this DLC is suddenly okay. For me Aloy is a hero that doesn't have time for romantic relationship. Her chase will never end. New AI to discover. New machines. She's really an explorer. Never bound to one place. Strong, female character that doesn't need any LGBT propaganda.

Interesting. I had kinda started to wonder before if Aloy was meant to be ace and how it would be a neat change and good representation to have a protagonist that has no love interest. However that kiss was still extremely cute and heart warming.
I have to say though, I hate Seyka's hair. If this is gonna be the love interest for the series going forward, can she get a hair cut? Or at least change from that awful ponytail with the way too big metal fastening? She's very pretty, but that hair is too busy, it distracts from her face.

All that choice means is if you think Aloy is ready at that moment. As Ben said, all you are choosing if it’s the right moment to kiss Seyka or not. But the feelings for her remain, no matter the choice.
Sorry to burst your bubble here, but you don’t get to choose what you personally prefer, Aloy made her choice. She wants Seyka. The game is just asking you to empathize with her and her journey and choose accordingly, like the rest of the flashpoints, like John Gonzalez said the mechanic was designed to do in the first place.
I'm sure Erend did too, but that boy was banished to the friend zone in the first game.
And for those saying that the relation is too fast, Aloy reminds Seyka and tells us that She spent SEVERAL MONTHS in the Burning Shores
You forgot the "secret" conversation Aloy "has" with Varl at his grave after the last choice where She "tells" him her decision!!!
I wish we got to see more of that time doing more side quests. I wanted to spend a lot more time there.
@@piratetv1That will be fixed in the 3rd and Final Game, as you remember, Seyka told that her mission now, was to help her part of the expedition join with Alva's part and I believe that after witnessing the true extent of Aloy's mission and after spending more time with Alva (She ships Aloy and Seyka), She will choose to stay to help in any way she can, probably in the base Aloy's group started to use in Forbidden West!!!

Next Horizon Game? Not interested unless it's Forza Horizon... Zero Dawn was awesome, Forbidden West also awesome in terms of sound, world, graphics, story but gameplay is dogshit, fetch that or kill that, unresponsive diving, mediocre climbing, mediocre mount controls and dogshit combat system, mostly because 80% of the combat becomes overcrowded really fast and you simply get knocked down in a row many times by spam attacks from every side oh and also you barely do any damage even on "Normal" difficulty and even with a Legendary Sharpshot bow, the only reasonable option is Boltblaster but before you can reload that shit you get knocked down like 4 times in a row without a chance to do anything.

The romance was so horribly written in Burning Shores, and it didn't give me the option to say. "Sorry, not interested. I just want to be friends." If it just gave me that option, it would have been fine. It seriously felt like it was just thrown in for American political reasons and ruined the story for me. For example, The Last Us 2 is a great example of a lesbian romance that was well-written and not political.
Maybe, it's because I have personally had that same situation happen to me twice in the last year or so, and I really don't like it. I'm bi and two of my best friends (one is gay and one is trans) and they both started wanting a romantic relationship, which I don't want right now, and it has ruined the great friendship we once had. Then, I'm playing the best game on the planet, Horizon series, and the same thing happens out of nowhere at the end of Burning shores. It ruined it for me, and I wish I had not played the DLC at all.

Everyone complaining about the gay agenda. Dude, it was OBVIOUS for the entire second game, every single male character was turned into a puppy to trash around or a psycopath villain. The original story writter left the game in the middle of the development of the second game. The hints were there its not like it catch you by surprise or anything. The first game was actually well written, with very few loose ends and a compelling new society and world setting built from the remanents of civilization. The second game is a MESS which dismiss key elements of the world building, human repopulation, reconstruction of civilization, redescovery of our roots, and many other things that made the first game so unique.
The burning shores is just the last nail in the coffing, you've got an hours awakening, that has all this new biomass growth to feed on and keep going for centuries to wipe civilization again, the only thing that stopped machines in the first place is that they ran out of fuel (biomass), they suceeded on killing everything and everyone. And after the plot needs it to freeze in place it just freezes in place, because potato, because aloy needs to mingle.
One of the best games out there gameplay-wise, one of the biggest let downs story-wise. All of the "old-ones" plot has the writting quality of a 1 season fire and forget netflix show.
I agree with this take. Technically a brilliant game but the writing quality noticeable lower in HFW and the levels of cheese and creeping woke agenda, misandry and Mary-Sueism seem to have been increased. In 2023 I just wish this whole woke thing would be a thing of the past but clearly it isn't. Maybe it'll take Disney to collapse to shock these other media companies into just going back to good old fashioned story telling without the constant 'message' being forced down our throats.
The Horus reactivates because of Walter, whom only does so to kill Aloy and Sekya. Walter was learning to control it on the fly. It was not its own independent AI like it was during the Faro plague. It freezes because of two factors.
1. Walter was the one controlling it.
2. You destroy its power core to kill Walter. After Walter dies, it deactivates because it was just a machine that was being piloted by a human. Even with biomass conversion, nothing is going to keep it going when its power core is destroyed. I mean does your car turn on if you remove the car battery?

Are you telling me that the whole plot of the first game was to build a super AI capable of literally rebuilding worlds, send it to space and protect the proyect zero dawn until the last human soul, when they could have removed their power cores all along with some casualities along the way?
@@neruba2173 I feel like you are missing key important details. We only manage to destroy the power core from the inside. And breaching the Horus was no small task. The other factor is that there were thousands upon thousands of Horus units by the end of the time of the old ones. Taking one down, even in a heavily nerfed state (over heating, thousand years of environmental decay and piloted by a human) took a whole mission to do. If that is how much effort it took to take one down, ain't no way anyone would've been able to take on the full might of the swarm while it is controlled by itself and not by humans.
@@jordanread5829 Well to me you are missing another key point. In one scenario you have a girl with a bow and explosive arrows. In the other you have the top military might and all its branches (spec ops, intel, tech warfare, air force...), and equipment (AP ammunition, ICBM's) of a fully developed civilization. And the whole point of the first game it s to give you this idea that there was no hope, all that was thrown at them was almost useless. Its written that to take down one horus, the one we see and explore in the first game for example, took months of preparation and a (not dsiclosed) unbearable amount of lives and resources.
Aloy killing the horus makes for a cool marvel cinematic moment, and it also kills in the process all immersion and world building up to that point.
If only the human civilization had known about the power cores huh?

HZD was amazing. Started Forbidden West and found it boring. Watched a summary and my fears were confirmed. The whole thing devolved to super humans being the villains, with yet another AI coming to destroy Earth. The DLC summary sounded ok, but only just ok. The romance was unnecessary. I don’t care if she’s queer or not, but fail to get why does it matter. Calling it character development is disingenuous.

Companies making the products believe that they can make more money with queer characters in their products than without. Representation of all types of people in media is important and a positive thing, but companies aren't doing it because they are altruistic, they do it because it gets them free advertising and new customers. You may not like it (and I would do some soul searching as to why) but millions of others do so it's probably not going anywhere.

So Aloy destroys a Horis (One of the unstoppable world destroyers) by destroying its heat sinks, yet the advanced humans who built / fought them with much more advanced weapons couldn't think of this tactic? The Zenith shouldn't have been used again so soon and he was defeated so easily. The story is weak imo. I Guess I will be skipping this DLC. It seems like the this saga has reached its peak in Forbidden West and is now decending its mountain of glory. I'm skeptical for what p3 will offer in terms of story.
It was ancient not fully capable and overheating if it had actually got to the ocean to cool off it would have been unstoppable
Also it was manually being piloted by a human without its full capabilites rather then just piloting itself. If it was driving itself it would have just grabbed Aloy and killed her

Zero Dawn is amazing with the Frozen Wilds, and Forbbiden West is amazing.
The only thing I like about Burning Shores is the map , the waterwings, zenith weapon, and a bit of Horus fight. Rest is below mediocre close to garbage. The fact that they added romance in it and Seyka is flat as f#^k and no option for the player is garbage. I finished this DLC for the achievements only. I give Burning Shore a 2 from 10 for character and dialogues. 10 from 10 for the environment/map/machine, ect.
Overall, I'm disappointed by it.
