Crown Victorias have a lot of character and they supersceed any language barrier. People say the P71 is no longer 'feared' but many departments still use them. They are very cheap and usually run without issues, parts are really easily available.
Like you, I’ve owned several P-71’s. And I made sure I found a 2011 P7B to be my last keeper car since it was the last year produced. Mine is black and since it’s a keeper I’ve already repainted in black. Also purchased 4 new BF Goodrich performance radials and had the 4 wheels bead blasted and freshly painted. New spark plugs and a K & N air filter system went in right away. Amazing the compliments I get on this car. Everything you said about it being fun to drive and the sound it makes under hard acceleration is spot on. And I also got lucky. When stripping the car of “prohibited police gear” I.e. light bar, radio, etc. etc. somehow they forgot or got lazy and left all the emergency strobe lighting (rear tail amps, headlights, grille etc). And they work perfectly. I rarely have used them ( illegal of course ) but once or twice to move a slow poker out of the fast lane. Keep up the good work on the videos, Mike.
Nice, I have a 2002 Grand Marquis in my yard as a backup car, I live in Massachusetts were they salt and brine the roads like nuts. The Merc is a Florida car with 0 rust I picked it up cheap and it was misfiring. The spark plug wells on passenger side were holding some oil from leaking valve cover gaskets. I changed the plugs, coils valve cover gaskets and replaced intake manifold. Runs like new.
The coolant should be gold/ yellow of it is still Motorcraft. Sometimes fleet will change it to green (Prestone) but never heard of red coolant except for Mopar.
