Morro Rock in Morro Bay, California. Morro Rock is located right in the center of Morro Bay. It is said to be a volcanic rock from an extinct volcano. Two local tribes in the area claim the rock to be their own and it's very sacred to them. Therefore, the general public is forbidden to climb the rock. However, there is a path from the road to the rock where you can walk out to it and explore most of the perimeter.
