I tend to use a styrofoam head, but wrap the head in a plastic bag then stuff the mask. No mask to styrofoam contact so no problems, but whatever works for you is always the best option!
Been collecting myers masks for 15 years. I had some higher end masks, warlock, creep.. Crack and dry out from the foam heads after about 5 years. Paper towel holders are my go to now. No problems.
Good video. I’ve showed time and time again the effects of Styrofoam heads and what they do to the rare vintage masks that come into my collection, it’s terrible. Not only will it suck the mask dry, but it will also fuse to your mask and you cannot separate the two. Also Styrofoam creates a chemical reaction with vinyl masks and will literally rot them away.
I use wall mounts made to display wigs/hats since they use a curved dome top and I don’t have a lot of table/shelf space. $20 from Amazon. I use two sizes; small for reg masks and tall cowboy hat mounts for larger masks. Also for a durable shelf display you can get a wooden rod paper towel holder and a small plastic bowl. Make a small hole in the center of the bowl, flip it and place it on top of the wood rod, and attach with a nail or flat head screw. That way the bowl will help support the mask and keep its shape. Thanks for the mask care video. If you happen to do another can you cover the best way to dust (dry dusting vs wet dusting; I don’t know?) and the best technique to brush out or style mask hair. Nice tutorial . i was sorta lame & invested in about a dozen of the styro-heads . I wrapped the shit out of them , but have been replacing that set up with my go to - $1 papertowel stands , sometimes topped with a $1 ball. Great post!
I found that wine or champagne bottles work pretty good so far it hasn't done anything to the masks and they've been on there for about 1 or 2 years now but in my opinion the paper towel holders look more professional and fancy.
Empty spray paint cans, empty Pringles can full of rocks, styrofoam heads wrapped in plastic bags, empty plastic coke bottles full of water. Those are a few of my personal favorite methods
Styrofoam heads can be used. Just throw a cheap, plain black knit hat over the styrofoam head before putting the mask on. I’ve had latex masks displayed this way for well over ten years now and the latex is still as it was the day I bought it.
First use hairdryer on the mask to get the lumps out, then take some mod podge to a foam head,and let dry(you can sculpty foam or straight plaster.) Then take plastic dip and put two to three coats on the head. That what I do and the mask are fine, but remember to follow up on Latex mask maintenance.
I stuff black plastic bags with even more plastic bags, that way I get the eyeholes filled in all in one go. If the eyeholes are too big, or I don't like the sheen from the bags, I insert little squares of black felt into the eye holes.

I grabbed two we have that we put granola bars in And I put my Halloween kills mask on it And ghostface one Also is it ok if it’s in a room with an ac on or humidifier ? Once I move I plan on putting them in a diff room. But for now I’m in my room with them on display
Off topic but should I keep my masks covered in the clear plastic bag to keep them in good shape or does it matter? I have them in my room so it’s not like I keep them in the dark wet moldy dungeon.

I use a styrofoam head wrapped in plastic plus a Paper towel holder. I clip the curves end off and put a lighter to it when it heats up I just place my styrofoam head onto the ends. Its slides through to where it's sturdy

There are some masks that you can just stuff it with plastic bags and some don’t. Especially for Myers mask, you don’t just stuff it with bags, you have to padded it to make it look like a head is in there like Castle stretch, Warlock stretch, and the foam head will give you extra volume
exactly! that's what I did. I have foam heads for my myers masks. I saw a video of a guy saying that styrofoam heads will rot the latex of the mask and to use a plastic bag. heck I use an empty bottle of ginger ale to hold up my 2018 Myers mask
New subscriber and want to know if it would be ok to use a Styrofoam stand if I totally cover the Styrofoam with plastic store bags so that the Styrofoam does not touch the mask? Would my mask be protected enough that way?
we’ve had our michael myers mask from over decade ago stored away in a styrofoam head i’m about to go swap it out for paper towels lmao last i check it was dried out that was maybe 5 years ago so

Silver paper towel holder from walmart its like 2 bucks.. Then go the their craft section. They sell half ball foam wrapped in plastic for like $1.00 . Dont take plastic off . Hey, Im a bit new to mask collecting, I only get them for cosplays uselly, but is it a good idea to get balaclavas and put them on styrofoam heads?

I used cheap party balloons, filled inside the mask. But you have to coat them in corn starch so it doesn’t stick to the latex mask.

In our opinion it would be fine to cover it with a bag. You shouldn’t have any problems. We actually did a video on that subject.

I got a full stick of 4 inch black pvc and made 8- 10 stands for 20 bucks. Just cut to fit your display case right

1 coat of primer and 2 coats of oil based enamel on my styro head, and i think the problem is solved.
