Don Freeman here. I worked with all three of these great players. I played keyboards and wrote 2 songs on Dave’s record “ As We Speak” with Marcus on bass. I didn’t play with George but he produced a lot of songs I wrote with Jeffrey Osborne including “ Don’t You Get So Mad”. I’m playing keyboards on all those records. George was great to work with and hugely supportive of all of us. Bomaye ❤
I got that record as a Christmas gift when I was 13 - let’s just say that view is long out of my rearview 😉. I’ve enjoyed your writing and playing with Michael Sembello, Jon Anderson, Rufus and Bill Withers (and more). Kudos, sir!
Marcus Miller wrote this song when he was strolling through Istanbul - my city that never sleeps and is 24/7 active. It is an incredible experience to listen to him, David Sanborn and George Duke on this beautiful jazz classic.
No cut and paste so called artist could not even think about getting on stage with Marcus Miller, George Duke, and David Sanborn. True talented musicians.
One year later. Clovis still here. I am sitting in my car in front of a big store. Playing very loud this great peace of Art. The crowd around is looking wondering to me. Goose skin, I stay in my car and be so lucky to heare this great musicians. Stay healthy all together
Who CAN'T like this???? Duke, Sandborn, Miller. Some of the finest players ever!!!! I am a bass player. I just hope to have a fraction of the talent on that stage.
OMG this is the coolest sounding piece from Marcus. I love Detroit but I love all the different aspects of this song. I love the Egyptian sound in the beginning
Maria, You have too semi understand the history-pre internet and google... First, google "Sweetwater Minute" - Vol. 152, Marcus Miller Interview - UA-cam... It talks about Marcus' early beginings!! It will blown your mind... Next, go to Marcus website-and review the info. that talks how he played on a Brecker Bros ALBUM in the early 80's that George Duke was producing!! # Detante Maria, I leave you with the following.. knowledge is power!!!
Heard they will be performing at my alma mater. Dropped everything and immediately purchased backstage tickets. Use to be able to play all of Marcus Miller's songs. He was and still is highly influential in the jazz community.
Okay.. Before I play this, I have to tell you : this is my favorite Marcus song. And he has motherfucking GEORGE DUKE on it??? And Sanborn??? Alright. I think I'm up for a goddamn BLAST indeed. Cheers from France!

You wouldn't by chance be the same Don Freeman who was on Larry Carlton's "Strikes Twice"?

Just like the original, "Take Five", by Brubeck and crew was written to echo the call to prayer from the minarets on a rainy afternoon in Istanbul.
No cut and paste so called artist could not even think about getting on stage with Marcus Miller, George Duke, and David Sanborn. True talented musicians.
Marcus Miller is cold blooded playing the Bass guitar ❤ !!!!! An absolute musical genius period.
You can tell that David and Marcus are having a 'just like old times' moment on stage...
Just love how Marcus thumps that bass.

Согласен. Он виртуоз. Вопрос. Что стоит вся группа без ударных инструментов???. Вся музыка начиналась с барабанов.)))

Amazing, I saw Sanborn and Miller play at the Fillmore in Oakland more than 30 years ago. They play just as well now.
