I also like that she hasn't run back to Maya right away. They've both been through a lot and needed the time apart to reflect. As Vic said they will make it through and come out stronger.
Love this trio! Make Tracie Thoms a series regular, she’s awesome. Love that the real Vic is back. Not the one who’s not empathetic but cruel towards Maya. Love that Carina is at least expressing her thoughts to people she knows, not a random patient, and thank goodness not Jack. But why doesn’t Carina have her own friends on S19 or GA? Amelia and Teddy are right there. She barely even have any lines on GA…
I think he has missed the huge opportunity to integrate Carina into GA as a renowned doctor, it bothers me a little that he was only left as Maya's wife
@@noashom Yup, they failed to integrate her beyond being Arizona’s gf and Andrew’s sis on GA, but I could always see her as friends with Amelia and Teddy. On S19, the clinic was a reasonable idea to integrate her as a doc except that she’s there to prop up Jack and always have to go “deliver a baby” when there is any real action. The endless organising of supplies… and her scenes are always at the station when they shouldn’t be.
I’m glad Tracie Thomas got to do some firefighter actions in this show as she can’t on 9-1-1. But I missed her on 9-1-1 though. She should appear more. And I love the excitement she showed after all the lady and deer incident..

They made Stefania a regular on Station 19, so they can feature her more in Maya’s storyline. From a scheduling and work load perspective, it would be a lot to have her as a regular on both. It’s the same reason Jason George was dropped as a regular on Grey’s so he could feature full time on Station 19. We still get to see them cross over, but again, it would be a heavy workload to be in every episode of each show. The issue is it made more sense for Ben because he was making the switch professionally to work at the Station. What’s interesting is that Carina was originally going to be set up with Amelia Shepherd in season 16 of Grey’s, which would have likely led to Stefania remaining on Grey’s more and perhaps being a regular there, but instead they set her up with Maya and now have her featuring more on S19, because it’s easier than having Danielle Savre popping up on Grey’s here and there. I mean look at how little we actually get of Bailey and Ben since Ben moved shows. Keeping Carina on S19 was the best way to ensure the Maya and Carina storyline was given proper screen time.
I love the show and I can't wait to keep watching for all the characters storylines, but of course the lesbian couple are the ones with ALL the drama and complications and I bet they don't stay together or they are on and off because that's the way most lesbian relationships are portrayed on TV and film, there's always this angst and struggle, the running off and sleeping with Jack of course that happened! Why can't they be the couple in the show that are solid and happy, it's not doing us queers any good, the queer relationships are always being shown in this way. I mean look at Travis's characters story line, can't stay in a relationship always jumping from one to another. How are we supposed to fight for adoption rights or the right to start a family when this is how we are being portrayed in the media???!!! Come on guys all we are asking for is a good old fashioned girl meets girl falls in love, with the normal amount of relationship struggle not over dramatised and then they live a healthy loving life together. The characters don't have to be boring, they can be stable and fun/funny. Please consider this next time you write for a queer couple in TV or Film.

And everyone loves to forget that Maya has put Carina before her job many times. Carina doesn't give up shifts or not work at multiple clinics ... and I love how hypocritical everyone is ... oh, it's about mental health ... but now that Maya is trying to pick herself back up she will have to do it all alone because Carina can't be bothered. Funny that she stayed with her brother but not her wife ... and if Maya had cancer we would call Carina a monster for abandoning her wife, but since it's mental health we are fine with it. Maya deserves way better than Carina.

First being left with her father who is bipolar and then coming to the US to help her brother who later died while having a manic episode. She’s been through a lot and is rightfully very skeptical of Maya’s recent progress and is reluctant to put herself in the position to be hurt again. After she spent the last year pleading with Maya to get help because she could see the downward spiral her wife was on. Yes, Carina can be a little pushy and overbearing at times but it is because she cares for people so much and she wants to try and fix all of their problems. Like Carina said to Vic in the beginning of the season; it’s hard being in a relationship with someone who has mental health issues because your own thoughts and feelings are often overshadowed and you feel like you don’t matter. She’s tried to push aside her own wants and needs for Maya but now she wants to stand up for herself and protect her heart after all she’s gone through.
Vic is wrong. Maya is working really hard. Carina isn't working hard at all. And again, she can tell Vic that she loves Maya but refuses to tell Maya that she still loves her. I hate Carina and have for most of this season.
