    The Eastern Front was the greatest struggle in the history of warfare. Very humbling.

    Canadian soldiers were and still are the most feard and tenacious fighters in the world. They are well known for thier bravery and will not back down in any fight. No matter what you say in response to this it will never change my mind or the true documented facts

    I never knew the Soviets took such amazing footage. Some of this stuff is brilliant.

    It is a sad reminder that so many men died fighting and they where still so young. The thought still runs into my mind... Where did they fall? Did they live thou the war? If the war never happened what would have they become? But we all have to remember the answers died along with them and the film is all we have to remember who they where and how brave they where.

    The problem here, is that Hitler didn't have the resources to do anything. Believe it or not, but when Hitler invaded Poland and France, Germany had a very small military. They needed the industrial resources of these other countries to build up their might.

    A lot of this footage is from the battle of Berlin and it shows russian soldiers storming buildings and such, indeed the battle of berlin is the bloodiest battle ever fought in a city.

    DavieGetsBlunted, USA casualties were much smaller compared to German, Soviet, & Japanese casualties. We didn't usually sacrfice troops needlessly & with disregard. We had a few jets operational in Italy that were the equal of the Me-262 but we didn't issue a lot of them because there were some problems with them & with the pilots learning how to fly them, so instead of issuing more of them we held them back to save pilot's lives etc.

    The Japanese won the first part of the Khalkin-Gol campaign, but lost the second round.
    The splendid Soviet Manchurian operation was greatly appreciated because the Japanese had & were still moving troops from Manchuria etc. to Japan & the other Pacific areas, but due to logistics it wasn't until Aug. 1945 that Stalin launched the Manchurian Operation.

  • @DragonSniper7
    @DragonSniper7 15 років тому

    not exactly. The soviets still faced 95% of the "elite german forces" the only thing left on the front that the americans faced were simply reserve armies. The majority of heavy weaponry was also on the front of the soviet side. The soviets pretty much managed on thier own and would have won on thier own, the main and most critical tactical mistake on the german side was during the battle of stalingrad in which was a turning point in the war.

  • @AlSemz

    The Soviets were getting their aces kicked. The Germans had things under control except for a few key battle losses and the American's joining in. The Germans became vastly outnumbered in man power and material support.

    If it wasn't for the Normandy invasion the Russians may not have done it alone either. It was the war on 2 fronts that broke the back of the German war machine. As for Russian industrial capacity, they turned out a tremendous number of tanks and planes. They suffered terrible at the hands of the Germans in the beginning. Whole towns disappeared. When they counter attacked it was severe. No I am not Russian. I do appreciate what they and other countries endured during that war.

But the funny thing is, it just proves that people are people. Those criminals ended up doing pretty well. I dig Australia.

    The German army was 90% horse-drawn wagons. The 10% motorized & armored vehicles was for the elite Waffen SS. However, every German soldier was encouraged to take the initiative whenever possible & that helped for a while. The infighting & squabbling among the German armed forces that allowed the British to evacuate Dunkirk presaged what was to come - the German armed forces were to be over extended & burned out by a pathetic fool (Hitler) until final defeat.

    Wow, if you look at the comments it is just like you three arguing (which I'm not saying is preventable) but you all three kinda have a point. Can't we all agree that Hitler and Stalin were pretty bad? Communism is a crooked philosophy and is in no way right. But also having a dad as a vet does not make you better than everyone else. You may have more knowledge but still... I don't want to be dragged into this argument I am just saying my opinion.

Germany ended up defending Berlin with mostly foriegn troops , Muslums and the sorts. Most Germans left... cept for Hitler youth ..thats facts. Towards wars end German recrutment was non Arian
