Daniel really shows what this new synth can do, using the new performance controls and modulations. A beautiful example what this synth is capable of! Excellent job! Thank you Daniel!
Now that Sweetwater is shipping the Polybrute, it seems like a good time for Daniel to do the deep dive video of this amazing synth. No one else can demonstrate the potential of Polybrute quite like Daniel can... Please make it happen! What would be even more amazing would be if Daniel could not only demonstrate the Polybrute features, but also teach us how he uses them to create music like he did in this video.
I just bought one from you guys and I’m in love. Wow. The one thing that reviews didn’t prepare me for at all, is just how nice the build quality feels. Heavy and solid chassis. The knobs, buttons, and controllers all feel tight and precise. Display feels crisp and bright. 2-3k for a full-size 6-voice analog poly made me expect some compromises in the components and finishes, but no… it’s truly on par with its more expensive Moog and DSI rivals in terms of how it feels. Really impressive.
It's been a long time since I've been "blown away" by a synth. This does it. Very well done, Arturia. And an awesome demo from Mr. Fisher! A dude can wish and dream that this would one day be a VST from Arturia. I won't be able to scrape this much money together any time soon.
I have a mild condition of cerebral palsy I can't use my left hand like the average guy can. I grew up listening to rock music in the late 60s listening to ELP yes. I always wished I could play the keyboard ,I tried but it's was too difficult. But this synthesizer is something that I may be able to play with my good right hand and use my left disabled left hand to turn the nobs ..this is exactly what I need to help me with my depression. Awesome video!
Excellent demo. This really shows some of the more interesting capabilities of this amazing instrument. Some of these sounds are reminiscent of the master synthesist - Tomita.
Thanks for showing what this synth can do, vs just talking about raw OSC’s, and its filters. I was starting to get the impression that the PolyBrute was not meant for performance, but rather just making UA-cam tutorials about how synths work.
Best analog poly I've heard in this price range, and the effects are rich and full. Lot of bang for the buck..will need to check this out. Thank you once again Daniel.
They're in the big leagues now, in fact i'd say they're leading the game at the moment 😉 This is probably the most versatile Analog Polysynth the world has seen thus far.
Hi Benjamin. It's such a joy to demo a synth that lets you randomly choose presets and know that it will just sound good, and then get even more interesting as you tweak parameters. Thank for watching! -_Daniel_
The thing about Daniel is that he is not afraid to experiment real time and record his leaps of faith for us all to have the privilege to enjoy and learn from. The PolyBrute seems to be the ultimate synth to lose yourself in. Meaningful knobs, faders and buttons are the ultimate design choice. It does melancholy so well. My Access Virus really is starting to look dated. (I’d never sell it though !
i saw this at my local guitar center a couple days ago. i spent a good couple of hours playing around with the various sounds and it was pure BLISS. it'll definitely cost me an arm and a leg to own one for my studio, but it's no doubt become my favorite synth. excellent demo!
This is one freaking spacey synth!!! Love the morph feature, it's really quite impressive that they've pulled off this level of control in analog gear.
@John Smith The classics will always be just that. Some of the real old monsters with discrete components will never be beaten in many ways (mainly tone - and cost!), but modern polys can give you loads more voices oscillators and multiple filter types and many of them sound great - all for a 1 - 3K. outlay modern analogue poly tones can be made on those synths that you just cannot get from the classics - and the modern synth will be very reliable indeed. One reason I love old synths is that they are easy to fix, which is jut as well as they go wrong a lot! Check out the UDO or the new Sequentials or Moogs to see what I mean. Sure Roland and Yamaha are making rubbish, but not everyone is. Even Behringer have a cool sounding parpaphonic poly at £600. What would a serviced Jupiter 8 cost? 10K maybe? I saw one on reverb, guys asking 20K. So yeah I agree and disagree at the same time :-)
@John Smith Fuck the goddamn jupiter 8... you sound like those old dudes screaming led zeppelin is the best thing that happened to humankind. New things not only can be good, but they most definitely are. And this synth sounds absolutely wonderful. Same can be said to many new synths that were given so much dedication by developers, musicians and synth experts on creating beautiful NEW sounds.
@John Smith But I guess if the same exact sound came from a 70's or 80's machine you'd be pissing your pants about it saying that new things could never sound the same
Daniel thanks. I love driving to Fort Wayne to try out all the great gear. I have a Keylab & all the plugins ;-) and they all came from Sweetwater of course. Thanks! Steve in Yorktown
Daniel, your performances here are complete masterpieces. Thank you for bringing out the beauty! These days most demo's just bring out the harsher edges. I'm an instant fan of yours now! ! ! This synth is amazing also. !
Daniel is my favorite musical instrument salesperson I've seen. You can tell he really loves what he does. Unfortunately for him I was sold on this synth a while ago 😋. I still enjoyed the video though.
I got to mess with one of these about a month ago, never saw any videos about it or anything beforehand. Immediately it was intuitive to use. The x-y-z pad thing is also AMAZING. I'd love to own one of these eventually. Very easy to get a gorgeous sound out of it.
Great! Seems capable of a great variety of sounds and textures. And the UI seems very simple and straightforward despite the obvious huge modulation capabilities. I must say this tempts me more than the Prophet Rev4 somehow :)
@@DreamscapesMusicCinema i wish! i'm finding softwares to do these sounds and it's incredibly difficult to recreate them, while with this you just plug and play and you are done lol also you can find so many sounds used in space ambient tracks and movies
@@VincenzoAvallone thanks for getting back. I've watched 3 vids on this thing so far , each is so different. I'm sure once I see the price I'll make that decision...lol...Mark
Ugh!!! Beautiful Demo!! When I got my hands on my first analog synth, the Minibrute, I was in love. And I dreamed of the capabilities of the polybrute. And now it’s here. It seems like too much synth for me, but listening to you play it, I can’t help but be blown away! I won’t give up my Octatrack, but maybe when I get my career back on track I’ll have to go to sweetwater and A/B the Ob-6 and the polybrute. As I really love both. I hope the laborers get a good wage for building these amazing instruments. My two main instruments are the OT and Moog Sub Phatty. I’d like to make my analog poly purchase one that supports fair labor.
The more I see of this synth, the more I like it. I haven't quite decided whether it fits my needs (seems quite performance-oriented), but as I have a MatrixBRUTE already I feel like it should at least be on my "consider" list. The morph and ribbon controllers, not to mention the morph feature itself, make for a lot of creativity, as Daniel clearly demonstrates here. Very impressive!
best demo yet of an amazing synth... Daniel is truly a master! I’d pre-order it today if Arturia would commit to adding MPE capability. I know they’ve said it may be possible... but I need a commitment before I’m willing to spend this kind of money.
Damn! That was awesome 👏 I’ve watched every synth review that you have done and this one was hands down the best in terms of performance and sound design!
I love any great synth that can save presets. I'm not a preset junkie, but when I make a sound I love, I want by hook or by crook to be able to save it for later easy recall, especially when used in a track that demands it for re-writes (TV, film, doco & web jobs).
The prophet 5 is an absolute classic, it has mountains of beautiful tone like no other, in a similar manner to the OB 6. However this synth is outstanding too in my opinion.
I like how you started out in the intro but then it went to the more experimental preset. It is probably hard to tame its strange looking "hairy saw wave" that is the basis of its sound.
Daniel, have you made a deep dive video with the Polybrute synth or a deep dive with the matrixbrute yet? If not, I would love to see that! Thanks for all the great videos!!
Looks like Arturia has figured out how to make a synth make good sounds. This is not as easy as it seems (Exhibit A: MatrixBrute, great concept but it takes _a lot of work_ to make it sound good), it takes a lot of factory doodling, hence the prices of excellent sound machines like Schmidt and Moog. And now Arturia.
Daniel always plays music not just demo the features, But he knows a lot of the tech as well. I am sure he can milt an old Casiotone and give a performance as well

Between this and the Hydrasynth deluxe, which would you get and why? And what is you everyday synth or musical instrument you play?

Agreed. Would love a deeper dive from Daniel. He brings this instrument to life. Seems to really work for him.
I fully agree
So far this has been the best video showcasing this synth. Sounds incredible.

What an artist on a fantastic instrument, it's like a concert... Thanks Daniel, you are the MAN !

A dude can wish and dream that this would one day be a VST from Arturia. I won't be able to scrape this much money together any time soon.
Agreed. The last time I was blown away by a synth was many years ago when I heard the original V synth.
a VST of this would indeed be a quantum leap...
Now we are talking, show what the synth can really do in terms of sound design in a live settings. Best demo of it's capabilities so far. Thanks
The patch @ 16:36 sounds like a string being plucked or struck. Like physical modeling or something. VERY impressive. I love when a synth can do that.
Greatest performance synth ever?
Amazing job daniel.

Dan, every one of your synth demos are so "Tomita-esque" it's uncanny. I half expect a Prokofiev piece to begin at any moment. Excellent work.
Hi GravelVoice30. I have and enjoy all of his CDs. Thanks for watching! -_Daniel_
Your demos are different, beautiful, creative, imaginative. Thumb up !

Best demo of the Polybrute I have heard. This really shows what a great synth it is for exploration.
Love the homage to Lyle’s Wichita in the opening, nice.
