Man I've gotten so use to LiveScope I've really lost my sense of finding fish when the bite is hard. Thanks for this. I use to catch our Tx Limit of 25 on Crappie and then switch over to Tx Limit of 25 on Sand/White Bass and go home with 50 fish BEFORE LIVESCOPE WAS INVENTED. Now targeting fish I don't do. I get in an area then LiveScope Sweep. I needed to see this to get back to basics. Thanks Sir. 🤝👍
Squirrel I notice that first brushpile you fished was under a set of power lines. Who ever dropped that had sum old school thought right there. Easy reference point to find the brush pile
Awesome videos man! Do your coke bottle test on the anchor line again. Only this time put a bottle 1 foot apart starting at the anchor itself up to the surface. Then pass by at 20 feet and again at 4 feet and count how many bottles you see. That will tell you where the side scan bottoms out and tops out, AND if the downscan is kicking in and filling the blank area below the boat. In 30 feet of water you won't see 30 bottles, especially if the down scan isn't helping. From that you can figure out the EXACT angle the side scan cone is shooting.
Thank you. My album of screenshots just got larger. I screenshot your videos and learn from them every time. I try to figure out your speeds and what the image is supposed to look like
I don’t have a guide license or the time right now, maybe in the future though. I do recommend Blue ridge guide service though, Keith does guided trips on Jocassee, Hartwell and Clark’s Hill. Thanks for watching Charles. 🐿
Squirrel, enjoyed the video, very informative. Some guys just show them catching fish after fish, it is entertaining but the viewer learns nothing. Thankyou for sharing. What part of the country are you in? It looks kind of like middle or Eastern TN. Have a blessed day my friend. PB
Good job Squirrel ! Appreciate your videos. Are you on the upper part of Hartwell ? Have you used other fish finders? I have a Garmin, but, I don't see the fish like your are seeing on the Lowrance.
Yes I’m on the upper end of Hartwell and Lake Keowee. I’ve only used Lowrance, but the main thing is the transducer. I had a total scan first then I went to the 3n1. I had to upgrade my gen3 graph for the carbon to be able to use it. I’m sure Garmin makes different qualities in transducers as well. Thanks for watching! 🐿
@@FishinwithSquirrel Thank you Squirrel ! I have their 3 in 1 transducer with a 12 inch unit. Your side imaging just seems to work better to me. I am thinking of adding a Lowrance HDS Live 12 but I wonder if it will be as good as the Carbon. What do you think? I think that some of the earlier Garmin models might have been better than the one I have which is the Echomap Ultras 126SV. Not sure though.
@@Crappie_Hunter_Seeker I have a 7” live. To me, I can’t tell much difference between the Carbon and the live but that is comparing a 12 to a 7” screen. I can’t speak for the Garmin.
@@FishinwithSquirrel Do you have the module to update the live to the 1.2 Mhz active imaging? If not, what is the highest frequency your Live goes too. What do you think about the new HDS Pro units - worth the investment ?
What map card are you using with your HDS7 for mapping with the Creek channel showing and color in the video Hunting for crappie in June using side scan
It’s the mapping that comes with the HDS live units. That’s why I bought the 7” live so I could have it for just mapping. I have it Ethernet to my carbon 12 so I can save a waypoint on my carbon and it will save it to my 7 live and show up on my map. . 🐿
Excellent Video sir!! Glad I`ve found your channel! R U using Lowrance Active Target with your Lowrance HDS ? If so is it the AT1 or AT2? Your images are very sharp and impressive. I`m still learning.Keep up the GOOD work!
It’s showing 14.1 because currently my graph is wired to my cranking battery. It will read 14 volts with my motor running. I have a 10 gauge wire running from my cranking batter to my graph. I’m changing that by ordering a 100 amp hour lithium so my electronics are no longer tied to my cranking battery, that’s my next upgrade. I plan on storing it under my console. 🐿

Thank You Mr. Squirrel for the Info and Crappie catch. You are Awesome!!

I just dropped the fish off! He was a happy man! 🐿

I usually idle with my main motor and shoot for 2-3 mph for the best image. Also stay straight so the image won’t be distorted. Thanks for watching! 🐿
Great video and awesome sonar information
Thank you Lyle! It’s been a minute since I got to go Fishin. I was happy to see you out on your boat this weekend! 🐿

How do you set sensitivity on Lowrance Side Imaging ? I see contrast on the menu, but, not sensitivity.
The contrast setting on lowrance is the sensitivity. It’s not like a hummingbird where there is both.
