It's a great gun, one of my favorites. Ammo is expensive but I reload my own. Congrats on the purchase.

I also bought the Bulldog and will get it in a few days. A compact, lightweight and reliable big bore revolver, I believe it's an ideal "trail gun" for solo hikers, campers or stream fishermen.

Well said. 40 caliber big bore going to ruin someone's day. Doesn't need to be going 1000fps+. The likelihood that one hit will stop a person in a defensive situation at close range is good. Decent gun good quality. Great customer service. Very nice looking gun. Lighter than most if not all 44mag makes carrying easier. Recoil not obnoxious that is important. Underwood loads a 245 grain 950fps truncated cone flat nose standard pressure fmj. That just might get the job done 😮😂
I put a Crimson Trace laser on mine for those night time encounters. Picked it up on the Charter Arms website, great add on.

44 Special is a great cartridges. This is one of my favorite revolvers.
This my favorite carry revolver and i have a safe full of guns this is the one that goes every place and it makes huge holes and the flames that come out will set fire to what ever is close enough if that big pc of lead does not stop them its great fun gun to shoot ammo can be a problem to find if you dont reload
This is one of my favorite revolvers. I reload my own ammo so that isn't a problem. It's a lot of fun to shoot.

Bought it two years ago and love it. My old Dan Wesson .357 is my baby and I didn't want to carry it around for protection. But, I wanted to carry a good revolver. This is a nice gun and all I had to do was check it out at the gun shop when it was offered to me instead of a 38 special, I was sold.
Probably the best gun Charter Arms makes. Great big bore that is compact and easy to carry.
Reloading seems to be the answer for 44sp Ammo. Big Bore , slow moving, Low Pressure. A Flying Sledge Hammer, this what the 44sp is all about.

Great video bud. I own several in many different calibers and have always had this one in the back of my mind. I was barely born when this gun came out and I know several old time coppers that carried this gun back in the day and they loved them so much they still own them in the blue finish. I tried to get them to sell me their vintage one and they won't part with it. Right now they're hard to find but once this BS covid crap melts away and their back in stock I'm going to definitely pick one of those up to use as a truck, stash and backup gun. I spoke with a retired LE ole timer who while on the job had to unfortunately put someone down with one of those back in the late 70's and he said it was a one shot down he went and later died on the scene situation. 44 special is a very powerful round just wish it wasn't so damn expensive. I notice your a Harley guy so am I and I just ran across your video for the first time. U did a great to the point review, keep up the good work and I will definitely be watching more of your videos should u decide to make any more. With all this crazy stuff going on right now watch your back when riding and ride safe.

Whats the revoil like for this bulldog? I have a charter arms 38 special and i love it
It is a 44 special and with a 2" barrel it does kick but I love it.

@@thomasprim8274 I would imagine it would be less than a 38 special but I wouldn't recommend a 32 for defense.

Love this revolver and the 44 special round. Similar to 45ACP.
.44 Special is a great round and it's a well made gun. I love mine and I reload my own ammo for it.
@@progun45 that baby will take down a dangerous determined attacker or animal at close range. with one round. Like being hit with a Sledgehammer.

It looks really sharp with the old wood grips that are on the original Bulldog.
I actually have wood grips on it now. Got beautiful rosewood grips from Altamont.

@@progun45 So did mine. I found a set of the older wood grips online. It's a good thing that all Charter Arms revolvers have the same grip frame. Makes it really easy.

.44 mag is a very heavy revolver
That's a 44 Special, it's pretty light. Also only holds 5 rounds so that cuts a litte weight off too.
I have one with a Lazer ,Shoots well with the lazer,Doesn't shoot worth a crap without it
Mine shoots fine without a laser. Not the most accurate gun I own but it's fun.
