Claude Shannon's alma mater was the University of Michigan. He is often times referred to as "the" (or one of "the") father's of modern communication (information theory). Hendrik Bode's alma mater was Ohio State University.

It was pure coincidence that I wore my Ohio State and UofM shirt during this lesson.

As native Dutch-speaker I can say it's pronounced boːdə/. it comes from the word "bode" which means person who serves or brings messages - which is still used in words like "postbode" (mailman) . Great video and such great oscilloscopes. I've switched 30 years ago to HP - Agilent - Keysight and loved this equipment ever since: the EDU-series is such a great added value in the training courses.

From an education perspective, working a Bode plot by hand is good for understanding. Once the concepts are understood, the automated frequency response analysis (FRA) is obviously really nice--and a big time-saver!
