So you're saying, Aventurine wins the 50/50 100% of the time? That means it's 100/0 instead of 50/50
I would also want to emphasize that the base DEF on the lightcone is pretty important if you want to be able to reach the 4k defense threshold for maximum gains and still build him for additional damage. The below is the amount of total DEF% needed to reach that 4,000 DEF, assuming both Aventurine and the lightcone being at level 80:
With his signature: 204%
'Moment of Victory': 220%
'This is Me' and 'Texture of Memories': 238%
'Day One of my New Life', 'We are Wildfire' and 'Destiny's Threads forewoven': 258%
'Trend of the Universal Market': 281%
All of his traces combined give him 35% DEF and 2pc Knight gives 15%, so knock 50% off of the above numbers. The rest needs to come from relic main/substats and the lightcone effects.
Basically, if you're using lightcones with lower base DEF, it becomes less worth it to build him for damage to the point that that juicy crit rate is a bit of a trap. If you only have low def lightcones it might unironically be worth running Belobog for a bit of extra DEF%.
I would say it only becomes truly worth it for a hybrid dps/shielder setup from 'This is Me' and above.
I'd rather have the 4k defense and 4 DEF% pieces than 3k defense and offensive chest/sphere. With Trend, you'll probably need all 4 relics to be DEF% unless you have a lot of defensive substats, but then why would you run Trend if not just to feed Acheron her ult stacks. His individual damage is pretty irrelevant at that point.
I happened to pick up a This is Me from the Nameless Glory early on because I loved using March offensively. I think it's an amazing lightcone for him, giving him the best of both worlds; decently high base DEF to make gaining the necessary DEF possible while still being able to run Crit DMG chest/Img damage sphere. And it has DEF% and damage on it to boot.
Thanks to his 106 base speed, Doing 2pc Knight/2pc Hackerspace and getting him to 134 speed with DEF boots for more consistent turns in MoC/PF isn't that hard to do either.
I'm gonna have fun building him.
I agree with often using the highest base def option you have, but unless you have S5 of the bp cone I wouldn't use it over S5 of the cone you get from MoC. It will be slightly harder to get 4k def with it but you're getting 20 eff res and 48 dmg%, so if you have to use def orb to reach it it's still more than worth it. For 99% of players anyway I'd use his Sig, Gepard's lc, or the MoC lc with Day one of my new life as an option if you lack his sig or Geppy's lc and need the extra survivability.
Trend on him indeed feels way to rng reliant even with Archeron and guts both his shield and damage. Would use Gepard over him if you use Trend since the lower base def and lack of helpful passive goes against his entire kit, Gepard also has far higher aggro to prock the effect with.

What I meant by my above post is you can build him with any lightcone, but if you only have low DEF lightcones, I'd just give up on building him for dps because you're just getting the worst of both worlds if you do. Neither enough def to make his shields beefy and not enough dmg for it to matter. Texture is a perfectly fine statstick.

There is a new LC (Concert for two) that releases with his banner which might be his best 4star lightcone BY FAR. Maybe that should be something worth mentioning.

Quick thing to add about his lightcone!
While it does give a nice 40% def boost, it also has a MASSIVE 660 base defence which is the highest in the game so far.

Pulled for Jingliu's LC and got S4 Concert for Two. Honestly, I feel like it eases up building him due to a high +DEF% in the passive, plus it gives damage with him constantly shielding the whole team. xlice forgor to mention it I guess

sorry if it's stupid and i just didn't think of something obvious but isn't it better to put him in the middle? if there's a blast attack it's more chance he gets hit so more stacks and the allies near him will get more energy bc they get hit and since his shield is so big and frequent they'll be fine
My Aventurine is a wip, and therefore a bit sad right now, so my solution was to run him with Gallagher. There's a bit of healing to help keep the team afloat if the shields fail, and still dmg, especially because I usually run Aventurine with Dr. Ratio

Hey guys, I just recently started playing HSR, around when Kafka was in the warp banner a couple months ago. I'm looking for team recommendations! I have every banner Character, 4 and 5 stars both, since that point. I just got done beating Jarilo VI and I'm TB level 50. Any tips are very much appreciated! Loving the game! I also have all the standard banner 5 stars except Yanqing.

Is 4 piece dead waters also viable for Aventurine?
should i get aventurine or wait for fuxuan. i dont have topaz. but i had nihilty mommies.
Acheron prefers Aventurine over FuXuan because he has a debuff and is more suited for the trend of the universal market LC which has an additional debuff for her teams (his signature also has a debuff). DOT can't crit so FuXuan's CR and Aventurine's CD increase are useless, but Kafka can follow up attack which can put Aventurine ahead of FuXuan a little bit. If you have Himeko and use her and/or Herta in Pure Fiction they can benefit from Aventurine too. IMO Aventurine has quite a few teams where he is directly better or more useful for the team then FuXuan whereas FuXuan doesn't really have any where she is straight up better, just equal or almost no difference (unless you are obsessed with mono quantum). FuXuan's CR buff might be nice if your dps are lacking it, but she can't be on two teams so you can;t rely on that CR boost for all of your dps in MOC.
Why my aventurine can't trigger the shield stacks even though i achieve 4k def, and having his signature LC?
I will use Aventurine in an Acheron team with BS Kafka(or Pela and Welt) and Dr Ratio alongside Topaz (will pull for her in the next patch). I have ToUM which is usefull for both of the teams. I have 600 starlight for 1 shop purchase and I am at 60 pity rate on the weapon banner, I will have @180 total pulls at the end of 2.2 phase 1 banner (where Topaz is supposed to rerun). What would be more beneficial in general?
1. Get his LC now, to be even more usefull than ToUM in both of the teams but only get E0 Topaz in the next banner, and buy Sleep like the dead for her?
2. Use ToUM on Aventurine and get E1 Topaz and buy Sleep like the Dead.
3. Keep using ToUM and buy MoV as alternative(maybe to also be used on SU) and get E0S1 Topaz?
P.S I am actually more concerned about charging Acheron Ulti faster and applying more debuffs for Ratio rather than actual damage numbers

If u want Acherons ult to charge faster use 2 Nihility Characters in her team and a sustain that can debuff aswell (Aventurine works just fine aswell).
Landau's Choice is kind of terrible on him. No DEF boost for his damage or shields, he doesn't truly need additional damage reduction, and since he basically makes your entire team indestructible even the aggro boost is mediocre, taking away ally energy.

Just got him. So is he a must pull? For me yes, because of his must pull rule which is: dose your account already have two or more of the following units: hou hou, gepard, loucha, fuxian. If you already have two or more of these units, then adventure boy is most definitely not a must pull and is an easy skip. For me he is my first five star sustain so a definite must pull. I have tested him versus friends Gepard and would say he is about 30 to 50% better, but no need to have both units. At low investment and e0s0 with just trend of the market he is able to tank or sustain as well or a bit better than fuxian. At this low to average investment (level 10 traits and gepard LC) he dose not do much damage so don’t be fooled into thinking he’s a tank and damage dude. He can do some damage but you need hyper investment just to get medium damage eg sig LC, edelions and perfect relics (not worth it). So is he a fantastic defensive unit?, yes he is. Is he an offensive tank, no he is not.

Guys, may i ask?, how fast aventurine shield runs out for high speed DPS?
If you reliably prock his talent it doesn't, his talent refreshes the entire shield value on all allies. It shouldn't ever run out in practice unless the enemies are all dead and you're never getting hit.
Here’s something no one talking about, he makes yinging useable! His shield keep him from taking damage
I don‘t think Aventurine and Blade snyergize, especially since Blade doesn’t get his stacks if he gets hit while he has a shield ^^

He's a solid option, Gepard and Gallagher both provide more stacks since Gepard has a self taunt for far better uptime on trend and Gallagher also gives more stacks as well. Addenturine will probbaly be more comfortable for walking around the map and will have more reliable defensive utility and better damage. If you plan to use Trend on him though I think you'd prefer Gepard most of the time for his far higher taunt value to activate it more reliably. If you have Adventurine's Sig or E2 he starts to reliably outpreform all alternatives though in every situation.
Does he work well with Acheron?
Nah........I mean he is usable......but doesn't really synergize with Acheron since other nihility characters are much better

yikes the relic stat options is just… without his or gepards LC you need 3x def mainstats to reach 4k def and the crit rate is too valuable to miss over something like an imaginary% orb
PF and MOC I dont need him. in SU, i just used gepard + blessings = 20-25k shield which is already unbreakable preservation path. ez skip for me.

just go full defense with knight and broken keel so he doesnt get stunned and adds additional crit dmg to your team. He is a shielder and not a dps. His dmg output is irrelevant. Just as with Luocha, Silver Wolf and Bronya and any other support character
