One of the greatest offerings to the fusion genre to date. This record will be in my rotation for a very, very long time. Favorite track: State of Flux
As an old timer, I can definitely hear the influences of: Yes, Zappa , mahavishnu orchestra, Patrick Moraz and of course the bass lines , Jaco Pastorius. My son recommended this band, and Im hooked! love it!
You can only hear similarities, not influences. They could even not have heard about those artists and be influences by Tigran Hamasyan and Counter-World Experience.
CYM: Who are you some of your personal influences that you brought into the band? Dan Briggs: I’m stuck in the 70s. Frank Zappa, Yes, early Genesis, Gentle Giant, and a lot of that has early roots in progressive rock. Those influences were what I was bringing into the band [BTBAM],
Does not anyone dislike this music? I found it just now and my branes have reached such a supple state... there is no integrity left in my mind. Thank you for giving me perspective?
I hope at least one of them will pass by to read what I'm saying, so they could know: this, is amazing (that comma is added on purpose just to add some drama to the sentence). Thank you.
Wow since I saw the cover called my attention and I do not know because I had the suspicion that it would be something I would like, and certainly hear it all this is the second time I listen to it and I like it more and more, blessings; Greetings from El Salvador Centro America
Estupendo álbum. Músicos sensacionales. El jazz rock de los 70 con sonido del siglo 21. Return to Forever, Mahavishnu, incluso Pat Matheny y muchos más como el mismo Jeff Beck.
That section at 25:30 really made me think of the mid boss battle from Link's Awakening ( ua-cam.com/video/iTxg0ArXBjs/v-deo.html as arranged by Nagamatsu). Same vibe but different time signature. Btw first time listening to this band and album and I have to say that it's a pure banger
Recuerda al Jazz rock de los 70. Aún siendo fresco y nuevo hay mucho aroma a bandas como Return to Forever, algo de Pat Matheny, Mahavishnu Oechestra incluso Jeff Beck... Así y todo es estupendo.
Fantastic album! And a pretty cool cover. It reminds me of Devin Townsend's album Ocean Machine - Biomech. Although i find this one to be a lot more aesthetically pleasing :D
I feel like not writing lyrics to this stuff was such a missed opportunity. I can hear so many vocal melodies over these tracks that could have made it really catchy and accessible.
maybe catchy accessible lyrics have been way over done and they're doing their own thing. i like it better without some vocalist trying to distract everyone from the organize chaos of the instrumental section
Can you stop comparing them to other bands???! Its so fucking anoying... Sure as every musician in the World they must have influences but there is no need point it out in every single comment...Just enjoy the music!
One of the greatest offerings to the fusion genre to date. This record will be in my rotation for a very, very long time.
Favorite track: State of Flux
Dewey LeBlanc State of Flux is so fucking good!!!!
Is it just me or does part of the ending remind me of parts of celestial elixir by haken? (which was also written by henshall)
I'm glad I wasn't the only one hearing Mahavishnu influence.
CYM: Who are you some of your personal influences that you brought into the band?

Owane - Whatever
Check it. I love Prog Fusion
@@87FordMudderDjazz Fusion I call it
Yet again, Matt Lynch and Dan Briggs take an evolutionary step in jazz fusion.
Again? Can you send me other works by them? I’m really digging Nova Collective
@@JimbrasMermelevos they have a jazz trio called Trioscapes. Check them out!
@@tomeara91 alright!!! Thank you, good to know!
This album has honestly amazed me. What is awesome about it is that you can listen to it a hundred times and never get bored of it.. magnificent work.
Love how Dans sweet sweet bass is turned up on this!
Absolutely incredible. Dan Briggs laying down some tasty bass lines.
10/10, haven't been this impressed with an album since Colors.
No WONDER I was digging this so hard. He's my favorite bassist.
What COLORS do you refer? wanna be impressed to :D
BTBAM colors.
Briggs never disappoints 👍🏼
Excente banda! Excelente álbum! No puedo parar de escucharlo!!
This is in my top 5 favourite albums
Does not anyone dislike this music? I found it just now and my branes have reached such a supple state... there is no integrity left in my mind. Thank you for giving me perspective?
cant stop listening to this album, such masterpiece
The different themes you guys go through in just one song blows my mind.
I can definitely hear the return to forever in this. Fantastic.
Anton Lindqvist song for the Pharoah kings 😁
Come on corona, hit me as hard as u can, after hearing this album I can Rest in peace
Rudy Ayoub says this is the most kickass metal album. A minute in, loving this.
As someone who did guitar for 8 years before bass, 7 years before drums and keyboards, the drums seem to end up my focal point in this album.
Also, that last chord. It’s like “goddamn, I have to start the nearly 50-minute album over again.”
When I need to force myself to do work, this album comes on.
This is even better than I had hoped! Thanks for making it available on Bandcamp.
They work so well together it's ridiculous !
Can't decide which is my fav. All ENORMOUSLY great tracks.
Easily Cascades, then Dancing Machines.
Cascades is just something else...
It's otherworldly
@@catshumpcats3 For me it's definitely Cascades then State of Flux.
Lovin´the proggy album art. Massively enjoying the listening experience as well.
Was linked here from a John Zorn Album.... I am thoroughly enjoying this! Somewhat Zappa-esque in the prog-rock approaches.
this goes so hard
Wow! I think this may be a future classic. Excellent
in love with this album
Reminded me of Al Di Meola with that opening track, and as a huge Di Meola fan I had to stay and listen to the rest of the album.
I hope at least one of them will pass by to read what I'm saying, so they could know: this, is amazing (that comma is added on purpose just to add some drama to the sentence). Thank you.
Love the old 70's vibe,awesome!!!!!

If you like this you might want to check out Dan Briggs' other project Orbs.
Amazing!...Insane on every level!
43:03
That piano transition to the savage riff á la Haken.
This shit is so good should be actually banned.
It's à la Gentle Giant, from which Haken apparently got a lot of their inspiration
Estupendo álbum. Músicos sensacionales. El jazz rock de los 70 con sonido del siglo 21. Return to Forever, Mahavishnu, incluso Pat Matheny y muchos más como el mismo Jeff Beck.
Some guy in a lobby in Dirty Bomb told me to check this out. I'm glad.
Dirty bomb that free game?
29:37 Best fuckin part of the album !! Pure insanity
28:30 sounds like something off of a Guthrie Govan album.
Totally
That section at 25:30 really made me think of the mid boss battle from Link's Awakening ( ua-cam.com/video/iTxg0ArXBjs/v-deo.html as arranged by Nagamatsu). Same vibe but different time signature. Btw first time listening to this band and album and I have to say that it's a pure banger
"I like the way the music goes... There's a few good guys who can play it right"
After 2 years I only now notice this was posted on MARIO of 2017.
Recuerda al Jazz rock de los 70. Aún siendo fresco y nuevo hay mucho aroma a bandas como Return to Forever, algo de Pat Matheny, Mahavishnu Oechestra incluso Jeff Beck... Así y todo es estupendo.
"Ripped Apart and Reassembled" reminds me of some Brazilian jazz elements I've heard in bands like Silibrina.
If this was LTE 3 everyone would be as amazed as I am!!!
Fantastic album! And a pretty cool cover. It reminds me of Devin Townsend's album Ocean Machine - Biomech. Although i find this one to be a lot more aesthetically pleasing :D
Absolutely beautiful!
LIT AF
Oh yes!!
Holy shit this is insane
Looks like Devin Towensend's Ocean Machine: Biomech album cover.
Love that album
EXACTLY
El regreso del Rock Progresivo.!!!
anyone else hear "Obfuscation" at 27:20?
What about Kashmir at 4:09?
@@jhscooby kind of a way more rhythmic kashmir
Alright, great music, I purchased the album
this is tremendous
Trioscapes with keyboards
I wouldn't mind the sax/flute in some of these tunes!
Ocean Machine - See you on the Further Side
I discovered Nova Collective through Haken. Does anyone else think that the ending of State of Flux really sounds a lot like Haken's Celestial Elixir?
real ones know this
I like this better than Haken's albums.this guy gets to showcase his ability better in this setting.
Love it!
Fun stuff for sure \m/
ART-METAL
nova collective propuesta fresca y original.
he bin ça joue grave!
When can we get new music from these guys? Another 5 years?
If we're damn lucky!
Love it
25:27 intro of Humanoid -Cynic
Reminds me of Mars volta's bedlam in Goliath.
I love Cascades
Correct me plz, guitartist from haken, bass my man from btbam, dont know drums or keys, would love to hear more
keys are ex-haken from before their debut album
Drums is Matt Lynch from Trioscapes (Dan from BTBAM jazz band) and he played some gigs with Cynic. He is a monster
Reminds me a bit of "Gösta Berlings Saga".
Am I the only one getting right now by Van Halen vibes from air??
soundtrack for how it's made
This sounds to me like mix of Muse and ELP, What do you think folks?
Wow
Love this album. some parts honestly remind me of video game music from the 90s. anyone else know what I mean?
MicShazam some of it reminds me of some music from Sega Genesis games too
I totally get that vibe also
grindcoremaniac A lot of the composers for video game music in the 80s and 90s were heavily influenced by the jazz fusion of the 70s.
Viva o Progfusion!!!!
Is The Further Side a sneaky reference to the Dead, or is that just my brain putting things together?
Rudy Ayoub brought me here!
Sounds like Opeth meets BTBAM. great work guys!
omfg! tasty prog
da da dadada
Amir mandel sent me here
oh **
I feel like not writing lyrics to this stuff was such a missed opportunity. I can hear so many vocal melodies over these tracks that could have made it really catchy and accessible.
FriedMetroid if you want something similar with lyrics check out The Native Construct amazing band with a great vocalist
maybe catchy accessible lyrics have been way over done and they're doing their own thing. i like it better without some vocalist trying to distract everyone from the organize chaos of the instrumental section
I don't think accessible is what they were going for with this
Dan Briggs = God
yeah
Aaahahhh so close of being first...
Certoche chi ha messo non mi piace non capisce un cazzo si musica .....
That album cover looks a bit too much like ocean machine by Devin Townsend
First!
u u I hate you
divine wings yeayyyyyy
Is this Dream Theater posing as another band? (^_^)
DT ain't shit !
Can you stop comparing them to other bands???! Its so fucking anoying... Sure as every musician in the World they must have influences but there is no need point it out in every single comment...Just enjoy the music!
