Van Fleet Trail - By Recumbent Trike

The Van Fleet Trail is right at 29 miles one way and is straight and fast. It runs through swamp lands so you are almost guaranteed to see gators, turtles and maybe a snake. It is very rural, yet it has four restroom facilities spaced evenly along its length. We enjoyed riding this trail together but, agreed it wouldn't be one to ride as an individual.
p.s. - Yes that is a banana peel on top of the gators head, but we didn't drop it on him. It was already there when we peered over the edge of the bridge.

I think it’s so amazing how you guys just travel so much to all these different places and get to ride these different trails it’s awesome. I hope to make it down to Florida to ride someday myself, it’s so beautiful.

Great video of the James Van Fleet trail. The wife and I have triked out and back about 15 miles each way starting at the north end in Mabel. In my younger days T have dune the whole trail out and back for about 60 miles on a road bike and once on a road tandem. We flew on that one.

Do you mind giving the address for where to park and get the trike out? Google maps says you have to walk from the Polk City trail head.

You can park right by the trail in Polk City. The very beginning of the video pans the parking area.
