Kevin Porter Junior detonated all over the Milwaukee Bucks defense, becoming the youngest player ever to score 50 points in an NBA game, and more importantly, carried the Rockets to the win in the 2nd half. While Giannis Antetokounmpo injured his ankle early, the Bucks had plenty of fire power but couldn't keep up with the young guard that could eventually make Rockets fans forget about James Harden.

Us Cavs fans were devastated to see him go
But his problem was his behavior off the court and maturity issues that impeded with the overall success of the team. While we the fans and even our notoriously awful front office would've loved to Keep KPJ there was only two possibilities
      1) keep them here with an ill equiped franchise to teach him the discipline he needs and watch him whittle away at the team while never reaching his potential
      Or
      2) send him away and hope the staffing/management elsewhere Is stronger and seeing how Cleveland is referred to as "the most tortured sports city in history" that wouldn't be hard to find

    Timeframe for Cavs:
COVID-19 happens: KPJ distances himself from the Cavs. The Cavs offer him a apartment and Drummond offers him a place to stay in Miami. He declines both
    Offseason:
KPJ does his own workouts and begins to go back to his old ways. Has a potential domestic violence case. Doesn’t show up to the Cavs internal bubble
Continues to be out of contact with the team then gets caught with drugs and illegal firearms as he crashed his car at 4am on the highway
    Regular season:
With the track record of the offseason and a pending court case the Cavs “do not believe basketball should be KPJ’s top priority”.
The court case drags and KPJ continues not to play
KPJ begins to workout and get acclimated with the team. He’s finally turning a corner and his court case was dismissed.
The Cavs give away his locker. KPJ throws a fit, the organization already questioned his maturity. He calls the black GM a “modern slave master” (probably the worst thing you can say to a black man in a position of power).
His value has tanked. Multiple teams said he’s not even worth taking a shot at. He’s developed now a bad reputation in college and an NBA organization
    He’s traded to the Rockets.
The real test for KPJ isn’t the regular season. He’s extremely talented. The Cavs knew this. The real test is the offseason. When he’s not being monitored 24/7. When he’s not with the team. When he’s back around with people that could lead him down the wrong path. That’s the story. So before people go saying, “he was given away for a bag chips” actually evaluate the story and ask why his value was so low, because it makes perfect sense

Coach Nick, I've been a fan of your videos for years, but I got to disagree with you a bit here. Kevin Porter Jr. looked elite in this win against Milwaukee(and other games for the Rockets) but I think this may be a case of someone who looks like an All-Star while playing for a terrible/tanking team. Basically, Porter Jr. can take all the shots he wants without any restrictions. I'm not sure how well he'd do if he were a full-time starter under normal circumstances where teams could game plan for him. What do you think the Rockets are going to do next year when John Wall returns? J.Wall makes too much money to be traded and he looked to be close to his old self this year. Will the Rockets just have K.Porter Jr be a spark off the bench?
Also for "Cavs fans" talking about you wish they would have kept Kevin Porter Jr., the Cavs already have Collin Sexton, who is a similar "shoot-it first" guard. I'm not sure how any Cavs fan thought Kevin Porter Jr. could be a star in Cleveland considering that his game is similar to Sexton's, and Sexton is clearly a better player at this point. The fact that Sexton is playing very well probably made it easy for the Cavs to just get rid of Kevin Porter Jr. like they did.
