This is what we need in our churches today.... simple songs yet powerful songs that resonate in our souls. Thank you Twinkie for letting the Lord use you
I KNEW I heard this song before seeing Marvin and Vickie Winans sing it together in 2009.. Twinkie sounds immaculate here and Mattie just took it straight to chuch with her signature line "tellem thank yah.. Say thankya jeezes.. Thankya jeezes.. thankya jeezes"
Isn't she amazing God bless her, she is truly a valuable priceless jewel whom i've always loved and admired. You know us men dod what we do well but it's something about a women that takes the crown everytime. I have been playing in the neighborhood amount of years as Twinkie but she was in front of me as a trailblazer whom road I followed to Hammond success Twinkie you're t he greatest among many and I and the wirld lives you "Long Live The Queen"! Lol
Have discovered the Clark sisters 15 yrs ago and have been a fan ever since. Especially Twinkie. She is the benchmark. Her execution in this performance is just Funk and Power. In these Corona crisis times I always find strength by singing along to this recording. Give the drummer sum!! Love
Singing and playing are WELL DONE Twinkie!! And Dr. Clark's voice was just the finishing touch we needed.. I WISH this was one of the songs on their Unac albums!
Do you still have the sheet music for it by chance? I'd love to pay a high cost just to have it. I SO want to teach this to my choir as a processional to march up to. I know the key, but I'm definitely nowhere close to the Queen and the way she plays it.
This was recorded around 1982 or 1984. At the Saintsville Church of God in Christ..Dallas Texas. My cousins and I were there the night this was recorded.. I went back and talked this song to my choir at Community First Baptist Church
This is incredible! Wish this was available in a little better audio quality, but somehow the ...tape rip sound is almost a part of the whole atmosphere here also.
That was around 1982 at Saintsville COGIC at Marsalis and Illinois and I was right there the night they recorded this!!!! I remember every note that girl sang!!!!!! Well Done Elbertina Clark... that's her given name!!!
Please post the 1980 COGIC national convocation official day if you have it. She rocked this song that sunday! I had it on tape and somebody broke into my pops's car and stole it. Hopefully, they were blessed with this treasure.
Karen learned from Twinkie..... I finally hear it but Karen voice sustained.... sorry Twinkie isn't serving these vocals with Karen today. Dorinda use to could so this too... Karen used up the home remedies. I give God thanks for them...
Regal Lamb Twinkie had a stroke and MANY health complications, she just got out the hospital about 1 or 2 weeks from staying a while in fact. Bishop Sheard has asked we keep praying for her. All the sisters, including recent videos of Denise, have had great vocal change. Twinkie and Dorinda are more noticeable from years of hard singing and preaching, they’ve lost great range but they are still killing it.
To see and hear how much the late #GEpatterson sounded like his dad #BishopJOPatterson is iroic. But #FirstLadyDrKarenClarkSheard is the #EPITOME of her very OWN @#WORDsermon. "God will take u from being the tail, and place u at the head!"
Twinkie is the most competent and phenomenal organist of all times!!
Now we see where Karen got her vocals from. Love Twinkie!!!!!!
Twinkie is so beautiful. I love this vintage stuff. Way better than any new music.
That organ tho.... really? I could listen to that part alone all day
Facts bro..sooo funky..
Didn't Twinkie made that thing SING?!
twinkie was always my favorite. She doesn't sing like she used to but she always ripped a song back in the day with her singing.
Well, who does after about 40+ years of doing it at the top level of vocal genius and acrobatic expression?!🤔🤨
The way she played that organ was so back in the day Baptist and COGIC, my god🙌🏾🔥
She lit this song all the way up on her "well done's" from 2:48-3:19!!!!! Sang Twinkie!!!!!!!!!
This is what we need in our churches today.... simple songs yet powerful songs that resonate in our souls. Thank you Twinkie for letting the Lord use you
Whoever disliked this is crazy! Twinkie KILLED this!!
