8 months of kicking field goals and counting…

I wanted a side view of what I look like kicking field goals. I don’t have a field, so here is me kicking from the 31 yd mark that I drew with chalk.
I started kicking in February when my brother and I played 1 minute 30 second quarter games in the snow. I kicked a blue, super-junior size football. Couldn’t get it to go any more than 10 yards and only 2 ft into the air. I practiced almost everyday from then.
I took a huge break for the summer because Chicago summers are ridiculously hot, and came back in early August to pick up from where I left off.
I started going from 20 yd, to 25, and now up to 35 yd from kicking spot to first contact with ground (so probably like a 29 yd because of crossbar height).
On December 15th, 2023, just 10 days from Christmas, Chicago had a wave of warm afternoons, and I decided I wanted to see how a kick looks like from the side. Got a phone, hit record, and kicked, praying I only have to kick once. From my POV, it went right down the middle.
I will post another side view in February of 2024. I will keep practicing. I won’t really need the skill, but who knows. It won’t hurt to know how to kick a field goal.
