Great review, Sandman; I just bought the ERGO TURNER SET and the PRECISION 2 IN 1 TURNING TOOLS. I just recently got back into lock picking after a two-year break, but I'm buying quality tools this time. I also subscribed!

Just recently purchased the precision 2 in 1 turning tools, and I have to confess, they are hands down the BEST rigid bottom of the keyway tension wrenches I’ve ever laid my hands own. (They are like the tension tool that came with the Lockaid pick gun, but perfected.)

I don't know why I never thought of combining pry bars for thicker tensioners. That's a game changer, going to try this out on my next pick session. Thanks for the tip!

Definitely! And if you have trouble stabilizing them when coupled or doubled up, try the straight flat TOK pry bars, they stay in there a little better than the ergo ones.

I just got some ergo tension tools from covert instruments and I am really liking them so far

I would enjoy a short video on how you put on shrink tube. I found it hard to get shrink tube around corners unless it is really oversize tubes. What a company needs to do now is to sell belt level locks all in one place. It is hard to get some of the locks listed, even my local locksmith doesn't carry basic American locks unless they get a bulk order from a customer. maybe a video of the Sparrows Heavy Bars sets?

All good ideas. Ill get around to the sparrows pry bars eventually. sparrows is a really great brand.

@@sandman_locksport My CI order arrived and I found 6mil wrap 1/2" long to work the best when slipped over the short end. The Sparrows are not marked so the red/white/blue/yellow/black is my thin to thickest coding. I did the same with CI just above the door logo. I like the markings but it is easier with color to pick the next size down or up. Interestingly, the marked CI mirror the Sparrows thickness so a blue Sparrows is the same as a blue CI. BTW I like to use black for standard picks .25 and red for thinner pick .15 handles.

@@canadafree2087 good suggestions, ill try it. i suspect that sheet metal steel in north america only comes in those thickenesses, which is why those are so common, yet so unusual in size measurement.

I've been mostly using CI tension tools as long as I've been into locksport. I started with the Genesis set which came with the Z bars. Over time I expanded with the flat bars, and most recently the right hand ergo turners. I have some tension tools from other brands, but I use these the most.

Sandman, I couldn’t agree with you more or all points made. Back when all I had was a generic pick set from Amazon, which is still one of my favorite sets to this day believe it or not, the right handed Ergo was my next purchase. It’s a great set. 🤘🏻😎

Great minds think alike! I have since discovered the multipick turning tool set, but I use my ergonomic turning tools at home, especially when I sit on the couch and I pick 30 locks over and over and over.

@@sandman_locksport Ha! Same thing here. I have a loaded Multipick set and I use those flat turners when not using an Ergo.

The American style are better for getting feedback on the amount torque you are applying. You would use them on very delicate locks.

I honestly don’t know, I bought a variety pack. Since that video, I no longer push shrink tubing on my turning tools. I don’t want to take away from the feedback that I get from security pins
