If I setup a SIP phone thing is is anonymous and cannot be traced back to me? Is there a way to set it up to have full anonymity with no trace backs?

What does disallow=all do in PEER details?
Is sip(chan_sip) free in FreePBX?? How many calls we can make, if it is free in FreePBX?

Is it ever possible to configure asterisk without having a sip provider but being able to make calls. Am a newbie of asterisk
I'll answer even though it was a year ago for anyone else with this question.
The short answer for what you mean is no. It is the SIP provider that enables you to place calls.
The longer answer is, yes but. The yes but is you can only "call" other SIP systems, and only those who are set up to receive calls from your SIP system. It would be just sip to sip over the internet. But you can't and won't just dial a number, you would be calling their system directly.
So in short if you want to call a phone number, you need a SIP provider, they are your link to the pstn.
But you can call another sip system once both sides are configured to do so.
So if you have a friend you want to talk to somewhere you could set this up and talk for free.
