Haha love how diplomatic you were about Ceduna caravan park 😂. Those cliff drone shots were out of this world!!!! 😳 my ugly mug at the end of the episode made me choke on my coffee Hahaha.
Yeah it was a nice way of putting it..... harmless people................ I think. Yeah it was worth risking the drone for! Haha mate lucky holly is there to balance our radio heads out hey. Great to meet you! Can’t wait to collaborate in the future buddy if we get the chance when you do your lap!
Its a pretty pronounced "edge of Australia" our great oz bight. The Nullarbor is only boring if you just drive across it with a one eyed intention of getting to the other end. If you stop and smell the roses, it is a magnificent place - consider it a one sided canyon and it transforms. I wonder if there is another matching cliff faces like that in Antarctica? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pangaea#/media/File:Pangaea_continents.svg
Just a heads up about the cold wind in the morning (cliff wake up scene)...the temperature of the ocean doesn’t change that much day to day (it changes over the seasons), however the land temperature does. Now this doesn’t happen all the time, but in the morning the land temperature is cooler than the ocean temperature, hotter air rises (i.e. over the ocean), so the wind moves from the cooler land towards the ocean. As the sun rises, the land heats up, and when it gets hotter than the ocean temp, the roles are reversed.....the air on the land rises and sucks cooler air from the ocean onto the land. As I said, this is a basic analogy, and isn’t always the case as you have cold fronts that come through.....and I’m not a weather guru and will most definitely be corrected on something I’ve said. Anyway, I hope I’ve made you think a little more about the weather and how it works.
Nobody "drives the Nullarbor". The new road is even further south than the old one was and at best, you drive through about just 32 k's of the Nullarbor. Most of the Nullarbor Plain is a lot further north of the Eyre Highway.
I swear upon god, these all long stretch of roads in your vlogs seem so scary, dodgy and spooky as if some psychopath like “wolf creek’ or “ chainsaw massacre” would suddenly pop up from somewhere or may be tracking you down in his eighteen wheeler trailers trucks like in some bloody suspense thriller movie. “ send shivers down my spine” Hasan Lahore, Pakistan
If you wanted to see whales you should have called in at the "head of the bight" about 20 minutes East of Nullbour roadhouse a bit late in the season but there would have been some nearby probably with calves. Looked like my sister in law searching your car at Eucla. You missed a couple of sensational spots to turn off and look at at Cocklebiddy both Eyre Bird observatory beach ( especially the escarpment) and Twilight Bay directly behind the roadhouse worth turning back for. The Baxter Cliffs near Balladonia is also a favorite of mine. Have fun anyway
Great stuff. Don't you get nervous putting the drone out over the cliffs? Geez Matt you could have stuck the solar panel on square unless you are going to tell me the drone shot only makes it look out of alignment. Love the hat hanger by the way. Still waiting for the windscreen cracks to join up.
Chaos State my ethos with drones is “if you don’t crash it you’re not flying it enough”. We spent $1800 on it and I’d rather it be gone in he water than in the ute not being used :) but yes to answer your question a bit nervous 😂 haha oh no my shotty workmanship has been revealed.... I’ll have to delete the video.
Loving the videos guys, stumbled across your channel after seeing the review for the Kings Awning come up in my recommended videos. I’ve watched a few of your videos now and have since clicked subscribe and added all your videos to my Watch Later list to slowly work through 😊. Question for you, what camera gear are you using and what drone and what editing software? The combo of what you are using is resulting in some polished looking videos! Also what are you doing for data while on the road, especially to upload your videos?
Hey mate! Glad you're liking the content. Well the start of the trip we were using older and cheaper gear, budget nikons, and we have got a bit better at filming and editing so the older videos at the start of the lap might be a bit harder to watch. But we have been adding to the gear the whole trip and we have some really good gear now. A sony A6400 with a 16-70 f4 and a Sony A7iii with a 16-35 f4, also got a DJI ronin recently. Used the A7iii and the ronin in the Karijini video so check that out! and a mavic pro for the drone shots..... premier pro for the editing. But we have a long way to go! Hopefully they keep getting better and better :) And data is a constant battle, just using the phones.... we get big bills sometimes.....
was watching your vid thinking exactly the same. i downloaded audio books for our nullabor crossing - couldn't hear a fkn thing from my phone above the engine (2004 luxy). now got speakers, but tbh, now wow enjoy the "silence".
Very well done this week. You put a couple of things on my bucket list with this one.
Good to hear mate! Thats what this channel is about :)
How cool was the windmill museum...... that would be insane when the wind howls 👍👍👍

It really is one of the most amazing places we have been!

Spectacular drone footage. Nervous about sending it out over the ocean?
I risk it for your viewing pleasure haha

What's the toilet situation at a camp like this. Looks like no facilities and a lot of other people around. You guys have a portable toilet?
The Nullarbor is a big place.................
Where do you sleep coz your pickup isn't pulling a sleeping cabin? Or you are a bigger team than your car?
On top in the roof top tent
Why can't you take honey and only some things if they are peeled?
Would be so cool to pull up, pitch a swag and find you 2 next door drinking wine, my wife would be over with a bottle, lol
yindyamarra if you ever do see us we’d love that!
Know what you mean about Ceduna cp. Should have stayed at Shelley Beach cp. Just out of town on coast. Great video
Are you starting to get the feeling that 12 months isn't long enough?
Year 6 more months would do it I reckon! for now.......but we have some big plans coming up :)
Why are you not allowed to take in food?
how much fuel do you need for the nullarbor
Mate plenty of stops along the way :)
boring af
