dippnripp Alien Isolation is a Masterpiece and Badass Game. I have never been scared of playing a video game in my life until I played Alien Isolation💯🖤🖤
With all the first person AVP/Alien games, I think this is the first game of the Alien franchise that's gonna be a true survival horror. Atmosphere, low light, chilling music, your player character shivering and a monster chasing after you. You'll probably won't have a lot of ammo, so hiding will be your best option. I'm very excited, will wait for the game to come out.
I applaud you, Creative Assembly, you made one of the best games in history, if not the best. I take my hat off. You deserved far more credits for this superb game, and far more sales.
I have played this game every single week since I got it in 2017. It is so well made - that you never get bored because there are hundreds of ways of finishing each level depending on your mood, or general play-style. It is THE perfect game for immersive experience - it has the most realistic looking environments and has the BEST sound I've ever heard in a game.
What could make the game more then anything (aside of the alien of course) is the sound design. Just by seeing the gameplay demo a couple months ago I think the sound is what will truly make the game scary. It would be awesome to walk around those dark corridors and the game plays tricks making you think the xenomorph is lurking in the darkness ahead but really isn't.Even the looks and authenticity the game has showing so far will make me appreciate it since I am a big fan of the franchise.
Pouring a lot of system resources into making a realistic xeno AI and ways the player and xeno can interact with a well mapped out environment seems like a solid foundation. Access to firearms absent armor and allies won't make a single realistic xeno any less of a threat, see the comics and movies or play as one in the old shooters.
Regarding how he mentioned: Even if you find a gun... I assume there may be some way of defending yourself against other enemies, whoever they may be, but im sure ammo would be in limited quantity.
or the alien turns out to be unkillable, tried shotgunning the fucker when i ran outta flamethrower fuel, it only made him flinch and stop moving for half a second
***** Who are you ? the Horror Historian, lol. Video games have never come close to being scary to me. I just hope this game can change that. I'm a huge fan of the "Alien" franchise, and part 1 definitely has scary moments.
Great game, fantastic attention to detail. Truly amazing. But if there's a sequel, get the aliens legs right. The dinosaur thing isn't working for me. Stick with the Giger design throughout.
Yes! The tail is waaay too long too. And have the alien hide in plain sight sometimes..like on board the shuttle at the end of the movie. Would be awesome to be crouching somewhere and suddenly realize you're right next to a hiding alien. :)
harnois75 Yeah Giger's Alien was...alien. It was sleek and slithe, very graceful. It was a silent killer. Isolation's Alien is a mini T-Rex that clumsily stomps everywhere.
The only nitpick I have about this alien, is that it doesn't make that strange whistling sound that the original did. Maybe if they ever decide to offer DLC of the original alien, they'd include it.

colonial marine's budget was blown on Borderlands 2, this game has the devs full attention and budget, lets just hope it doesn't turn out shit, as it looks now it is great
Even though it was still effective, the alien was too heavy footed and growled wrong. The original one was silent and sleek till it unfolded like a ninja. The isolation and DLC alien had nervous twitches/clicks like a world war z zombie (this made it a touch tacky over the 1979 original). Still a great game though.
It wouldn't have been as scary if you didn't hear the guttural growls and metallic sounding footsteps approaching your location or hiding place. For gameplays sake, a silent xenomorph wouldn't have had the same effect.
@@somerled5513 But if you turned around and saw it crouching in the shadows and then had it pounce and grab? That might work as well.
