Congrats on the purchase! Thanks for watching and I’m glad I could help. This setup is perfect for the stock ride height and these vehicles are so much taller then most vehicles anyway, they look lifted. I don’t see a need to change this setup unless the air bags fail and you then want to go with a lift and slightly bigger tires.
If you want to run 33s, you do need to do a lift. 1 1/2 inch lift requires to chop the fender lining and the body mount. A 2 1/2 inch lift requires only the fender lining chop. Rob said he is using a 265-70-17, that equals to a 31.6 inch tire. I am running a 285-70-17 which is a 33" inch tire and with stock suspension, it rubbed so bad that the stock running boards completely tore off from the front. With this recommended build, they rub, and you cannot go with the stock tire size. I loved the look, so I went down this route. I took a close look at my stock (worn) tires relative to the wheel wells and decided I would go with the smaller stock 265/65-17 size BF AT KO2, BUT they only come in the E1 rating which requires a minimum rim width of 7.5, which doesn't work for the TRD Pros. Also, the TRD Pros were not available through my local Toyota dealership; they said they were on "stock hold" from Toyota and could only supply them for TRD Pro warranty work. I found them on eBay (+shipping expense) and went with the 265/70-17 C1 rated BFs. I love the look, but they do rub - at heavy turn angles - especially in reverse (as you would expect). They work, but I would have liked these details in your video to make them part of my decision.

Hi. I got my wheels and tires installed today. Same wheels and tire set up like yours. Did you get an alignment after the install? Cause my steering wheel start to vibrate once i’m driving 55 mph. Do you think getting an alignment will solve this issue? Tia
I always ask for an alignment just because and make sure the wheels and tires are actually calibrated properly. The big name tire shops seem to have a hard time calibrating the large tires for some reason. Atleast that’s what I was told by the shop manager when I went to have mine done.
Rob, what's the ride like with those tires? I had a tire guy flat out tell me that he wouldn't put them on my GX. Said that the ride would be terrible and the car would handle poorly.
Besides the noise being a bit louder (which I don’t really hear as I have music going) the ride feel and handling didn’t change. The right psi is important. Now I’m not taking turns like I’m in a sports car, so maybe if you’re doing that, you wouldn’t be happy. If you’ve always been using continentals or a really good all season cruising tire, maybe you won’t like these. But I’d say for the standard person, who knows they are driving a large suv, they will be very happy with the look to ride quality compromise that they give.
Awesome! Thanks for the response. The car is new to me and I’m loving the O/R modifications I’m seeing. I won’t be climbing or anything like that. I just dig the look.
I’m getting these wheels and tires for my White ‘04 GX470. Do you need a 5th one for the spare? Will that size tire and wheel fit in the spare spot under the truck?
Nice, good choice! You don't need a 5th one for the spare, I did not buy a 5th. I'm still running my stock tire and wheel as the spare. But that size tire and wheel will fit in the spare spot under the truck, you might have to just have it aired down a bit if anything.

I don’t run a 5th Ko2. Figure the cost was a waste for my purposes. From what I remember reading, you can run it if aired down some.
TRD bronze wheels didnt come out in 2020....never heard of the baja style wheel from 2012? they've been out for almost a decade my guy.
Hello there m. Got my 2006 gx not too long ago. I am wondering if these wheels will be too harsh on bearing, axles ect?
I’m not a mechanic. So I can’t say for sure. But don’t see why they would as they are widely used on similar vehicles.
Did you end up having to run spacers for rub?
Unless you lock out the wheel when going in reverse you don’t rub. I never see the need to do that though.
How much did you spend on wheels and tires ? I just bought a 2006 and looking to get new wheels cause their peeling off
Hey Samuel, thanks for watching! Tires were $851 with free delivery from Tire Rack. Wheels were $713 before shipping, $842 delivered to my door from a few states away. Just google "bronze trd wheels" for example and you will see your nearest Toyota dealership pop up with them for sale. You can purchase off eBay as well, but they didn't have a full set of bronze on there. Prices don't include mounting and balancing the wheels and tires of course.
@@uknowhim21 thanks for the reply rob will possibly do the same set up as you since my gx470 is black I might go with the gray trd wheels
Rob do you know the part number on the wheels by any chance ?
@@samuelvargas5827 I think that will look nice
@@samuelvargas5827 yes it is PTR2035110F5. But that is specific to the bronze color. The other color part numbers should be similar though.
Do you have links to where you got your rims and tires? Would be greatly appreciated
Bought a silver gx470 last week and the rims are rufffffff
@@erikaker6337 looks like it's time for the upgrade, mine were terrible as well.
Hey Erik, thanks for watching. UA-cam does not allow me to post links in comments anymore. So I just posted the links in the descriptions so you can look there. For the wheels, you can google “bronze trd wheels”. You will see your nearest dealership that will be selling them pop-up. But mine were from Passport Toyota in Maryland.
@@uknowhim21 thanks man I appreciate the help
It would’ve been op if your car is black or at least white
Any rubbing with that tire size ?
Nope no rubbing!
Did it effect your fuel economy?
I'm sure it does slightly, since the tires are bigger, but I never really tried to measure before and after. It's an older truck, the fuel economy isn't great to begin with, just have to be OK with that.
Where are the part # ??
Part number is PTR2035110F5. Thanks for watching!
Any links to where you got the tires and wheels?
Hey Tom, thanks for watching. For the wheels, you can google “bronze trd wheels”. You will see your nearest dealership that will be selling them pop-up. But mine were from Passport Toyota in Maryland. Link here bit.ly/3v3P600 The tires were from tire rack. Link here bit.ly/2PwddUD
@@uknowhim21 just what I was looking for, though your link goes to the raised white lettering. I assume that you meant the blackwall...
Any rubbing?
Hey Jon, no rubbing. There’s more than enough room when turning at full wheel lock, which I think is very important for most people.
“What’s going on youtube”
Didn't get a 5th matching wheel and tire???? Should have..
Why spend another couple hundred bucks for a new wheel to just sit under the car. If I ever go with the 5th mounted on the rear tailgate, then I would go matching.
@@uknowhim21 Because it won't STAY under the car- (truck) it will be mounted if one of the others goes flat- and I want it to match the rest when I do.
@@davidwayne9982 well like most people, we don’t want to ever have to do that, we like our tires with air in them.
@@flipperbooch2194 I never WANT to either-- but you know it's only a matter of WHEN-- not IF. and I would carry it on a rear carrier-- I want to use the wheel well for an extra tank giving 56 gallon capacity-- instead of 23... :) (JUST me and just a suggestions-- no one HAS to do it. )
Zero rub?
Only if you go full lock in reverse.
Whenever you get rims and tires never give the shop your address.
Don't get why people put these wheels on a lexus. If you want to do downgrade just buy a 4runner.
How much did you get those for?
Hey Abe, thanks for watching. Tires were $851 with free delivery from Tire Rack. Wheels were $713 before shipping, $842 delivered to my door from a few states away. Do these fit in the spare?
Looking good by the way
@@MrAbYounes I didn’t buy a 5th wheel or tire. I still have the stock wheel and tire in the spare area. It should fit though.
@@MrAbYounes thanks!
Wtf is with that clickbait “cop wanted to see” bs
Nice wheels tho. Where did you get them?
Not click bait. In the video you can clearly see the cop looking back at the wheels. What I didn’t show in the video was after he pulled up next to me asking me about them. I didn’t think it was appropriate to stick a camera in his face while we spoke. Just google “bronze trd wheels” or whatever color you like. Local Toyota dealerships selling them should pop up. So I bought it from Passport Toyota in Maryland as it was the closest one selling them.
тоже хочу такие колеса на свой 470 тый, но я живу в Украине, мою страну уничтожают как внешние так и внутренние оккупанты, хотел бы переехать с семьей в штат Юта но нет денег на это, и не выпускают мужчин из страны, уничтожают
I think those are super ugly. I love the tires, but the wheels are not a good color. Plastidip them!
I think that’s a fair comment. When it’s not the norm, I think you love it or hate it. More of a reason why I like that I got them because it’s easier to plasti dip them black then bronze. So I may do that at some point just to see
@@uknowhim21 I can get behind that. Nice truck!
