I am an Indonesian and I lived in Bali for more than 5 years, but somehow I am still attracted to the content of your videos. I love how calm and genuine both of you are, actually similar to Balinese people. In a way, you both and Bali are meant for each other, I guess other than like-minded people attract each other, a place also can attract the same energy people 😂. I was born in Jakarta and live there most of my life, but Bali is the place I always call home.
That might be the nicest thing anyone has ever said about us, thank u very much for that lovely compliment. I think the positive energy of Bali makes us better people, all the wonderful attributes of the Balinese too. Being in a space we feel is safe, open and welcoming lets us be the best versions of ourselves. And of course, i think (n hope!) Bali has that effect on all its visitors, u, me and everyone else. I'm so tired of the world being filled with unpleasant beings. I hope u can return to Bali to live one day again!
Om Suastiastu Jean! I visited Bali more than 20x since I was a young mother and now I'm 55. your videos reminded me of all those fond memories. thank you Jean
Om Swastiastu Dahlia! I'm so glad the videos evoke good memories for you, perhaps you can return to Bali one day and create more of those too. It's still the same amazing place that you visited once upon a time i'm sure. Big hugs!

If you visit mak beng again, you can try “fried fish’s egg” but you have to ask the staff the fish’s egg available or not because not always available. And actually you can order the menu a’la carte so if i go with my sister, i always order 2 rice, 2 fried fish, 1 soup and 1 fish’s egg (so we share the portion because the soup too much if i order 1 portion for each).
Wow the fish looks so delicious, u make me really want to try it!! I don’t usually like fish! But it looks like it’s cooked so well! I love that it’s spicy hahah! Cool to see people cooking and eating on the beach, love watching the culture in Bali!! The noodle soup looks simple but yummy! ❤️

You are right that bakso is usually made from beef but in many places now bakso is made from chicken specially in places like Bali where there are many Hindu followers. Texture is slightly less bouncier than those made from beef.

Mak Neng is always be the best
can totally see why it's bali's most famous fish restaurant! unbelievable! one dish magic.
Sangat enak 😋, menggugah selera, mantap 👍
Love you both, Jean and Vitaly..!!! 😄💛🙏🏼🌻
thank U Shree, i hope you're having a great Sunday with your family!
@@JeanVoronkova thanks a lot!! 🥰🙏🏼
😍😘 thanks girl!

I am Balinese and I've seen almost your all videos ❤. There is one balinese cuisine that I can recommend to you is Nasi Banjar Mbok Mang. Is close to Babi Guling Pak Dobiel (which I've watched ur video as well 😊) you may find on google maps for Nasi Banjar Mbo Mang. Trully best Balinese cuisine 👌
Thanks for the foodie recommendation!! Love it!!!
Really nice video... cute couple :)
aww thanks Varun! glad u enjoyed the episode!
Ohh love it,
That's so yummy Mak Beng warung was my one of favourite I used to having my breakfast or lunch in there,
Watching your video made me so hungry and miss of my village in sanur
its really nice to vlog n then have people comment that they used to go to the same place too n now they're super nostalgic for the place. It makes the world seem such a smaller place it's nice! i'm glad. I hope u can revisit your beloved Sanur soon!
@@JeanVoronkova I do hope comeback home anytime as soon as this covid and restrictions rules are over,
I can't wait to jump up onto plane and landing in Bali,
Keep up whatever you are doing in Bali and you are both so grateful
Life is sooo good in Bali and you summarized it all at 12:01 The fish you were eating is tuna actually, not GT. I love bakso! Especially with extra wontan skins.. and the lumpia tooo... lovely.
yah... simple joys here r so accessible. Life is peaceful here and i'm so grateful for that. I wish my parents can come over to camp out with us already we're still waiting for borders to open. n yah the Bakso n the wonton skins! mmm! lumpiang also a great discovery! Wow u really know ur food down to the fish! i did research online on cakal fish when we came home n ended up w that picture haha
@@JeanVoronkova ikan Cakalang = Skipjack Tuna
@@JeanVoronkova Actually I do not eat seafood at all. No fish, no prawns, no crabs. Nothing. But i used to love fishing & until now when I visit anywhere, I love looking at fish markets & fish sections of supermarkets.
hi, the dishes look delicious thank you for this good time 😊😊
huhu thanks good to see ya!
Usually Bakso is made of beef, and you must dip with the Chilli sauce! It’s our fave anytime food when we used to live in Surabaya
You are right that bakso is usually made from beef but in many places now bakso is made from chicken specially in places like Bali where there are many Hindu followers. Texture is slightly less bouncier than those made from beef.
ooh i must try the beef version then... we've only had ayam so far
that makes so much sense! thanks for sharing!
jean

indeed! street food here is so wonderful!
In Jawa some dishes are served with sambal petis (like sg black prawn paste- HeeKoh)
i like togethering you and your husband, thank you for xploring indonesia always happy and healtty.
Your husband is right, we eat basoh with the fresh chilli sauce! Yumm
haha he ladles the chilli sauce over everything! he's Sambal Fan no. 1 here lol!
You should try to eat the fish with barehands (wash it first woth soap and water), it'll make the eating experience more enak
